What a way to cap off our most recent trip to Las Vegas. When we approached, we originally thought the double doors would be the entrance. We were mistaken. They walked us over to a curtain to our left, which unveiled the space, which was a grand sight of high ceilings, wide space, and books everywhere. My girlfriend described it as the perfect place for a wedding proposal for anybody who is a fan of Beauty & The Beast. There were a ton of booths to accommodate groups, but there were a lot of couples. I had a rare perk/reward obtained on Black Friday through the MyVegas app that allowed us $200 towards food and drink here. For anybody who saves up, this would be likely the meal to anticipate during the trip, with or without the reward. The meal was great. We got the frutos de mer appetizer, which was basically an assortment of small seafood dishes served on a tiered apparatus. Then we had the "whole" roast chicken with truffle and foie gras stuffing embedded between the meat and skin of the chicken. The main chicken pieces were cut so that we avoided having to deal with more bones. We also got a side of brussel sprouts. For dessert, we got the Baked Alaska. It appeared on the dessert menu at $27, for those counting. The staff, as you would imagine, was top-notch. Each time a dish was presented, there was another crew member nearby to monitor for whatever reason, which is logistically a very good idea. The soundtrack for the mood happened to be to my liking as well. Patrice Rushen, James Brown, even Chromeo! FYI: - Always make a reservation. As far as I know, they only open for dinner Thursday through Sunday nights. I might be wrong, but then again, so might the website, MGM Resorts app, and/or the SevenLeaves reservation system. - The baked Alaska dessert is also a mini-show. Fire is involved. - Don't forget to give them your MGM rewards card to rack up points for your meal. read more

Had dinner here on March 1. The appys were fabulous tuna tartare and oysters incredible. But, we ordered one of their special signature dishes. prime rib for 2. So disappointing. It came out in 3 slices per person with gravy. The only flavor was the gravy which tasted like canned gravy. It was something I would have expected from Golden Coral. And it was $156.00. I've had a few meals at The Library over the years, two recently. I did have my first ever champagne and caviar service there, thanks to a very good friend. It was really fun. We got a bottle of 2000 vintage Krug and some beautiful osteria caviar that smoked when it was first opened. Vincent was our host/bartender, he is worth a visit as is Stephanie, our usual bartender. They are fun and have great drink suggestions. I stayed on for dinner as my friends had reservations elsewhere. I had the diver scallops with a side of mushrooms. The scallops were delicious and you get four of them! I wasn't expecting so many. The mushrooms were also a huge amount. They were good, but a lot! I had their halibut around Halloween. It was nice and delicate. A perfect petite filet. We had the sweet potato tempura, which was pretty amazing. My fave foods were the scallops and the tempura. I had a great experience at NoMad Library! The food was delicious- we had the chicken meal for two and the lobster mac n cheese with the honey crumble for dessert. The service was fantastic--our server was friendly and expedited our food so that we could make our event immediately after. Solid choice for dinner! We were eating at steakhouses for 3 nights in a row, so I chose to go with something other than red meat. Had the Nomad whole chicken, lobster mac & cheese, & brussels. The chicken was really well seasoned & the rice that is served underneath the chicken was a hidden gem. Full of flavor, tasted like the rice you get with paella. Pre-Covid - Visit February 29, 2020 My friend and I snuck in here after it was closed one night and this place is stunning! Romantic lighting, wonderful ambience. And all these books lining every wall, its just beautiful. I have no idea where they found all these books and someone spent A LOT of time color coordinating all of the spines. Nestled between the books are lovely little knick-knacks, it really feels like someone's special treasures that they've collected. I came here with my boyfriend for my birthday dinner and I enjoyed the experience. The ambiance reminded me of Harry Potter. Our server was amazing! The food was delicious. We ordered their truffle fries, fried artichokes, mashed potatoes, wild mushrooms, ricotta cavatelli, papparadelle, and their American Wagyu Prime rib. I didn't really care for their housemade bread. Not really a big fan of it. The American Waguy Prime Rib was cooked to perfection and just I wanted it. Our first visit to The Library was great, which made the second and now third visits even more disappointing. We decided to give it another chance, hoping to recapture that initial experience, but it just keeps going downhill. Once again, we had the same server, Shayne, who left us wondering how he is still in fine dining. We tried giving him the benefit of the doubt after our last visit, but the service was inattentive and unprofessional--far from what you'd expect at a fine dining restaurant in Las Vegas. The food was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. If you're looking for exceptional dining, save yourself the trouble and head across the hotel to Bavette's, where both the food and service are consistently excellent. If you're in the mood for intentionally bad service for a laugh, you'd be better off at Dick's Last Resort at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino or Neonopolis downtown--at least there it's part of the experience! The Library has lost its spark, and after this last visit, we're done. Save your time and money. read more

We just had the most amazing dinner at the Nomad Library in LV for the Hunny's birthday. Our weekend itinerary was pretty extensive. But due to timing issues, we had to nix a couple of other places until our next visit. Luckily this one was a keeper. When we first walked in, we didn't know what to expect behind the large, black curtains. Once the host drew them aside to let us in, my first thought was "Aaahh! Aaahh!! Aaahh!!!" (In my Little Mermaid voice). We were the first ones in, so the place looked pretty massive before the crowd filled in. Because we were anticipating this dinner for sometime, we tried to pre-plan what we were going to order. But everything sounded/looked so tempting, that we kept changing our selections. We finally decided to make it all about sharables. Our cocktail started with a Zombie for 2, which is a trio of rums, fruit juices and absinthe served in a cool skull. The drink tasted refreshingly mild. But since it had absinthe in it, a little can go a loooong way. Definitely a creeper! Dinner finally started with fresh popovers with a soft Gruyère spread, although I thought it was butter. For our apps, we decided on the Fruits de Mer, which is a raw seafood tower for 2 of the chef's choice. Aside from the oysters on a half shell, hamachi & scallops, there were a couple other items I wasn't too familiar with. I know one of them was uni (sea urchin), which I normally don't like, served in some kind of jelly. But with an open mind, I tried it. It was delicious!!! Strange, but delicious! The other one tasted like baby langostine in an avocado mousse topped with caviar, and was equally delisioso! The portions for this special indulgent are very small, but very decadent. Finally, our main course was their signature Nomad Roast Chicken, also for 2, which was a slow-poached then roasted chicken stuffed with lemon, rosemary, Parmesan & brioche, served on a bed of saffron rice with chorizo & mushrooms. The chicken was not prepared table side as seen in other postings, but was brought out already deboned (except the drumsticks), sectioned, and ready to serve. The chicken was perfectly moist, yet roasted to crispy perfection with a slight lemony tang. In honor of the Hunny's birthday, he received a giant ball of cotton candy. Everything about our dining experience was so meticulous down to the cotton candy! It had the silkiest spun texture, almost like silk, you could almost make a dress out of it. LOL!!! But seriously, from the service to the food to the ambiance, this place is definitely a must try next time your in LV. Now for the downside. Like everything else, all good things must come to an end. This place is pricey, but still worth adding to the bucket list. I'm not exactly sure what the correlation is between a library and fine dining, except that "Eating is Fundamental". read more

This has been one of our best experiences on the strip so far. This is the kind of place we enjoy. It was in a quiet yet scenic atmosphere similar to this that she and I fell in love. Being two academics constantly engaged in research, we found this location to be a home away from home. There were individual books on the shelves that needed to be read. This was not just wallpaper decor and that's what made the setting more appealing to the eye. If you've ever wanted to eat in Beauty and the Beast's library, you've come to the right place. The food: Because we were planning to have dinner later that evening, we only tried Oysters Rockefeller and a couple of cocktails. The two already very full patrons were provided with a service that met all of their expectations. Every sip and bite was a journey through what the chef and bartender were trying to convey in their expressions. We observed the tuna tartar being prepared tableside next to us, and we found it very tempting to order our own. Conclusion: As many of my friends are visiting Las Vegas in the coming weeks, I have already referred eight people to this location. Since NoMad took over Hotel 32 I had it in my thick caveman brain that NoMad Library must be on the 32nd floor. It isn't. How stupid of me to think so. No windows would have been a good clue Jamie. After dragging my wife to the top of the hotel only to find hotel rooms, we descended back to the Casino level where we finally found NoMad Library. This place is cool. What a great space. We were promptly seated at a big booth in the middle of the restaurant. I ordered a vodka martini with a blue cheese stuffed olive. I received back a very shy half full $20.00 martini. Not very generous. It's these little things that can really put you off you know. Before booking I saw on their website the special they run on Monday nights. As the hostess draws back the curtain, it is a spectacular set up for this elegant but casual New York transplant original. The ambience is awesome as you are seated in this classic old school library with the lighting and music to really capture the essence of old New York style lounges. The menu is limited so it was easy to select as I started with the snap pea pappardelle with was green bowl of goodness and a great starter for the seared scallops with a sauce that had a hint of curry and the kafir lime that brightened the entire dish. The share for table dishes were the truffle baked potato (must have again), roasted brussels sprouts and french fries which both were also solid accompaniments. Great service, atmosphere and flavorful dishes make this a new spot for Vegas trips. read more

The nomad library has both an esthetically pleasing atmosphere and excellent food. When I initially booked my reservation, I didn't expect much, as I thought it was a gimmicky resultant. We saw a hostess who asked us to wait a little bit in a small waiting room before being seated in the main dining. We were not able to snag comfy booth seating but it was not a big deal! While I stuck with a glass of wine, our friends decided to go for a smoky old fashioned which they absolutely fell in love with. I don't think it was on the menu. For our food items.. Dozen cold oysters - SO GOOD! I love the cucumber "snow" mignonette they dress these plump oysters with. Fried Artichokes - this was okay, I could have done without Chilean Sea Bass - lots of flavor, super soft fish Double Cut Pork Chop - a little sweet for me taste but it was pretty good! Nomad's Roast Chicken for 2 - Absolute star of the show! I believe it was a half bird, stuffed with foie gras, black truffle sitting over a bed of rice. HOMG. It was perfect. I could probably have finished this on my own if I was feeling ambitious lol. Mac & cheese - On the menu its a truffle lobster mac & cheese, but one of our guests are allergic to truffle so we asked for the truffle taken out. We ended up getting no lobster either - but no worries at all, the mac & cheese on its own was quite decant. I think I would've liked to see more greens on our table - this is totally our fault for ordering lots of fried & heavy foods. Our server was very nice, we didn't have a chance to interact with her too much but she got (most) of our order & was always around whenever drinks needed to be refilled. Just stunning. Was absolutely dumbfounded when the hostess pulled back the curtain and we stepped into the Library - this place is simultaneously huge AND cozy. The ambiance is unmatched - our only complaint is that the tables (for 2-4 guests) are very close together, felt like we had to whisper at times. The food was INCREDIBLE - we got the Wagyu ribeye and that is quite frankly one of the best meals I have ever had. The fried artichokes were also a favorite - that cheese sauce is divine. Beautiful setting amongst David Rockefeller's book collection. Seats are a little close together unless you're in a banquette but the mood is cozy, dark and romantic and sound doesn't carry too much. We had a nice dinner, sharing the burrata, ridiculous mac & cheese, and a bone marrow crusted filet. The popovers served before the meal were so delicious that we forgot to take a picture. First let's start with the atmosphere. It is a magnificent room worthy of any special occasion. It feels like you are sitting in the library of one of the Vanderbilts or the Rockefellers. The service was very good and the food was fine (but not great). Two of us at the table had the prime rib. One ordered it medium rare and got a nice large piece of meat cooked just right. The other ordered it medium and they literally just cut a regular slice in thirds and threw it in a pan for a minute. The result was more suitable for a french dip sandwich than a prime rib dinner. Special surprise quests musicians of the Usher crew in the audience was a bonus! They also took the stage.
