They have a variety of baked goods of course but also a very extensive breakfast/lunch/dinner menu! Sandwiches, salads, soup, pizza! Everything looks very well made and it's all so reasonably priced! I decided to do the veggie pizza and the owner even let me customize it with extra pineapple for no extra charge. It was huge!! 8 slices for $7.50! Was wondering about always up for the next flavor, or undiscovered great little hidden gem. Sadly this wasn't it, at least from the self proclaimed"Sicilian" style pizza . Upon opening the box I was horrified, who hasn't gone to the market to get pre made pizza dough will notice it anywhere. I still hoped for the best but upon taking the first bite it was evident none of this would be enjoyable, could only eat two slices before throwing it away. Ok I'm giving 4 stars because honestly this place isn't horrible and honestly I feel sorry for it- also my son absolutely loves the ham and cheese croissant- it's reasonably priced and I know he will eat the whole thing so for that reason we go there sometimes. The rest- where do I begin? The place is just depressing- empty bread baskets line the wall behind the counter and NOT because they have some amazing bread that sold out already it was so good- they don't actually sell fresh baked bread. The pastry cases are barely a quarter full- and not because they sold out of their pastries either it's just always like that. You get the vibe this place is barely hanging on but I feel like it's a huge missed opportunity.. it could be so amazing- instead it's more like the baker stuck in the nineties and not in a 'the 90's are so cool' way- I mean they have border wallpaper! Even the gentleman who is always at the counter- while sweet his vibe is very strained- like he might crack any second. Anyways everything nowadays has to be post-able and (I feel bad saying) I wouldn't take a picture near this place- if I did I definitely would never post it. I mean I can't even tell you how desperate it is. They really need to take the bad carpet horrible furniture and ugly 90's decor (there should be a law against that wallpaper) and that weird 8ft statue (that for years I thought was a giant pig..?) and toss that crap- it's not even donation worthy. Get cute menus, cute furniture!! Cook a bunch of amazing pastries and fill the bread baskets!! Now the pineapple upside down cake was not good to me at all i literally took one bite and thought this taste factory made . It taste exactly like a pineapple side down cake i got from a Mexican mart by house same shape and everything so it makes me wonder if they just purchase these and sale them as their own, the cake wasn't soft at all . What a great spot. Open till 10 PM on a rainy night in DC, i was able to get a lot of work done with their WiFi all while enjoying a turkey, cheese and garlic sandwich on a baguette and a hot chai latte. The customer service here and the people is really why I came back. I am a morning person and coming into a place with people who are happy is really a huge plus for me. The food is ok. A few days ago I ordered a 12 inch round birthday cake for my mom's 68th birthday party. Luis was very helpful in putting together the perfect cake. His recommendations were appreciated and I'm so glad I took them. Price was very affordable and well worth every penny. Everyone enjoyed the cake. It was delicious and not a piece left. It was made of white cake, buttercream frosting, Raspberry swirl with Bavarian filling. The cake was so moist and it came out exactly as I wanted. Sand which was soooo goood! I'm not from here and it's the closest eatery I can find and I'm glad I found it. Clean, nice quiet plac they even have tables outside if you want to get some fresh air as u eat. I've come here a couple of times now & always enjoy it. My favorite thing to get is their warm ham & cheese crissonts. I loveee their eclairs & cream puffs (they even have minis!!) But my favorite pastry so far is their cannolis. They are the perfect consistensy of pastry and sweet. I've tried them at a few other places and they are either way too sweetened or are mushy.
