My husband says he chose The Local for our date lunch but we both know it was #1 on Yelp for a reason. Because it's amazing!! Walking up you can see so many seating options, clean tables and super friendly staff that honestly enjoyed being there. Happy hour just started and instead of having to guess and ask, we had a happy hour menu immediately. Our drinks were out quickly and the appetizers followed behind. We wanted so many items and it was difficult to decide. We chose the conch fritters and Korean short rib fries to start. Both were excellent but the fries were definitely better. After that I had the Mediterranean tacos and he got the Hendrick burger. I loved the wonton chips. Everything was great. It's a bit of a drive for us but if we're in town again, we would like to try more on the menu. Overall a great choice for bar food to upscale menu items. We loved it. read more

We loved trying some delicious plantbased food options on the menu at The Local for some delicious food, cocktails and live music on the patio. The hummus was very flavorful and scrumptious and cauliflower dish was brimming with crunchiness and spices. Dessert and coffee at the end was simply the perfect ending to the meal. My friend ordered the bloody Mary and I ordered the heat of the moment drink since it was blazing hot outside so why not join it, since I can't beat it. We also ordered the oyster shooter shot as well. For food we ordered the oyster New Orleans, conch fritters, and ahi tuna poke nachos. My friends bloody Mary was too bloody strong for me. Man one sip and I was like woah. I liked mine better. The heat of the moment was very refreshing for a hot day. As for the oyster shot, let's just say I'm not trying that again. Definitely not my kind of shot. But my friend liked it. The food was scrumptiously delicious!! The ahi tuna was so good. It has the perfect crunch and the flavors were amazing. The drinks are unimpressive, and the food is subpar. Came here for a night out with friends. Ordered the chicken nuggets which tasted like Tyson chicken nuggets straight out of the microwave. Also got the tuna poke nachos. The nachos were not crispy, barely any tuna and there were onions on it. I've had many tuna poke nachos in my day and this was not it. The atmosphere was very earthy/ bohemian- very calming. We sat outside and loved it. The service was very good and attentive. It was also $28. My sister had a Caesar salad. She said 7/10 for salad 5/10 for dressing. Also said her sweet tea tasted like arm pit. WITH that being said. We had the bread service as an appetizer. Phenomenal. The ricotta basil dip was to die for. I got two cocktails. One of which, is the best cocktail I've ever had. It was called the pink dream, I believe. 5 stars for the dish I had, the southwestern chicken salad. Yall, this salad is to die for! Perfectly executed, in chopped form, this dish hits all the right spots for me. I will go out of my way to come back and get this salad again. I know I sound crazy over a darn salad, but it's that good. I took myself on a little solo lunch date, but unfortunately that option was no longer available on the menu. But... I had to have something along the lines of it, so I became creative. I ordered a blackened chicken, Caesar salad, and a side of delicious Parmesan garlic oysters. I then placed them on top of the salad & mixed it all up! Oh my my my...let me tell you... chef, skip the shell throw in some garlic butter Parmesan oysters on top of that salad and make it a menu option. It was so perfectly paired with the true homemade Caesar dressing and the perfect crunch from fresh croutons. My version unfortunately was on the expensive side. My wife and I had a day at the beach in mind and we love this area. We sat on the beach for a while, but when weather threatened to drench us we decided to find a place to take refuge until it passed; we found The Local. We were only going to have a drink at the bar, but we saw a few dishes pass by which piqued our interest. The Ahi Nachos caught our eye and we had to try them. Very good and lots of flavor. Also, I thought I saw someone preparing oysters. I hadn't had good oysters in a minute, so I inquired about them as I hadn't see them on the menu. There is a separate menu so ask if you go. I was hesitant because of the price and from being a new englander its often a disappointment, but these oysters were perfect. They were fresh and served with a perfect compliment of accoutrements. My family & I came here for dinner. The service was great, and the ambiance was cute and modern inside. Everyone I was with loved their food, but mine was a little bit difficult. They don't have many GF options, so I got a grilled chicken club on a lettuce wrap. When it came out, it was just chicken and lettuce- didn't have any tomato, onion, cheese or bacon. The waitress took it back and when she said it was fixed, it was still missing tomato and onion. Honestly not a huge deal but just kind of annoying it went through multiple people before going out & still showed up wrong- twice. Great brunch options from traditional to very creative. DH had the Hurricane Plate while I tried the Turkish Eggs. I met a friend at The Local for the first time to see my favorite band B Easy. We had no idea it would be so crowded. They recently opened an outdoor patio which is where the band played. We found two seats on the edge of the parking lot just outside the patio. There was a privacy fence so we couldn't see the band but we could hear them perfectly. We took turns going inside to the bar to get drinks. My first time in line at the bar took roughly 15 to 20 minutes. That turned out to be the average for the night. The feeling we got was that management didn't expect this big of a turnout either so it was a little discombobulated half way through the evening. We only go back because friends want us to meet there or there is a decent band but it is always the WORST. Hubs got a burger and was charged an extra 13 bucks for fries. They were so fatty we would have needed a steak knife to cut through them. They also forgot some of the toppings that were listed to come on it (no peanuts at all). Then we got our short rib sandwich. The inside of the sandwich was delicious (can't go wrong with short rib). It said it came on crispy sourdough but it came on soggy regular toast/bread instead. The fries looked good but they were not crisp at all. I am unsure if the chef was absent that night or what but the food was not what we expected at all.
