I loved everything about this business except for their quiche. The decor, the muffins, coffee, and tea. All delicious. I ordered a tomato basil quiche. I was super excited at first because I haven't had quiche in quite some time. I loved the fresh tomatoes in it and I do have to say the flavor was there. The thing I didn't like was that I couldn't taste the basil which is one of my favorite flavors. I also really hated the texture of the quiche. It was almost like flan that had been sitting out. Very soft, Almost like a cream or a custard that had finished setting. Another thing I wasn't a fan of was the crust. I loveeeee the crust on everything so the first thing I always do is break off a piece from the top. Except no matter how much I tried to break it off, the crust would not come off. It was rock hard, definitely over baked. It was also rolled a little too thick. That much crust isn't necessary, a waste of product and profit. I think cutting the dough in half would be much easier when cutting into it. Plus it won't be so over powering. read more

I came here today for the first time and am never coming back. Came on a Sunday afternoon and there was one girl ordering in front of me who was apparently friends with the workers and chatted away. Saw that I was behind her and didn't move. The girl at the counter was very friendly. I ordered and went to sit down. The guy behind the counter kept chatting with the friend visiting and my BF came in to see what was taking so long and ordered a scone. It wasn't until after he received his scone that I saw the guy barista notice my order, picked up the cup and said "oh shoot" and began making my drink. It was an iced chai drink that should've taken 2 min if he did his job. There was no one else there. The drink was also probably the worst chai I've ever had. Watered down and no spice taste like a chai should have. One star for the friendly girl barista and one star for the good scone my BF ordered. read more

decided to check out this place...it was a nice concept everything organic..I had the honey dew blended and it was very refreshing and cool...the bf-unit had their cappuccino was pretty interesting..it had a pretty solid foam but it was delivered in a homemade arts and crafts kind of mug that threw us for a loop...but the place had a very homey feel to it...the server wasn't very nice though...especially us having gone for the first time, we hoped they'd be a little more helpful...which is why this review came down a star to only 3...and it wasn't like they were very crowded to warrant the lack of customer service...we'll have to try it another time again to see how it goes... read more

Great study atmosphere, available outlets, friendly staff. Parking spots are small and say one hour but I never got a ticket or had any problems. I was served a cold coffee! Was really hoping for more based on reviews and expect non-franchise places to have more pride in the product. I'm a calorie conscious coffee drinker, so I take it black. Ordered a light blend and asked for some cold water at the top so that it wasn't piping hot and I could drink right away. The barista recommended an ice cube (... I'm thinking it must be really hot). Right after dropping in the ice cube I take a sip and its barely luke warm... I look over and realize the brewed coffee is in tall thermoses (fairly standard), but they are sitting on the counter, rather on warmers that you would see at "its a grind", or other descent chains. That immediately makes me question the management and how they could allow coffee to sit around and further, not train baristas to feel the temperature of the cup when pouring. If for some reason l, a customer would not want coffee, wouldn't you ask them if they wanted an ice coffee... Blended or cubed, etc. I've got a pretty high tolerance for strange things, but luke warm coffee is not pleasant. At room temperature, coffee takes on a different flavor profile than hot or icy; and the ashy aftertaste is more prominent. That said, I could tell the beans had a nice flavor and on a Sunday it was nice and quiet outside, so I sat and read. I may come back with friends to try a blended drink, but they obviously don't have the right setup/approach for delivering consistently good coffee. read more

There's just something about genuine employees that makes my coffee or my wine from next door taste the much sweeter! The people who work here make this place 100x more inviting and welcoming than any coffee franchise employees ever will. It's the simple things that make this beautiful coffee shop so great! Got to lost bean at 9:50 am this morning. My boyfriend and I orders 2 breakfast sandwiches at 10:20 am still no food. I asked where my order was to only be told by a worker that he accidentally gave it away to someone else. So the first 3 times when I asked about my order I was told its coming right up??? The workers behind the counter were not organized at all. Starbucks, coffee bean and Pete's coffee all get you in and on your way. I was late for work as well this morning so Starbucks, Pete's coffee and coffee bean will be in my morning rotations not lost bean. read more

I found this place by accident about a year and a half ago and I returned there just recently. Just wanted somewhere to hang out and read while sipping a lavender latte. It was about 3pm on a Saturday and just slightly crowded, but people gradually started to leave so I could get a seat inside. Great latte and friendly service. I'd return again if I was in the mood to chill for a bit with some lavender goodness. read more

Free WIFI, good coffee, and committed to local causes. That's all a win for me. Their prices are a little expensive but I'm okay with that because their coffee is good and it goes to a good cause (they give some of their proceeds to local organizations.) Their food is actually pretty good as well. I usually get their raspberry whatever cake thing with my usual latte. The coffee shop is a little small and they don't open late so you'll want to get there early. It's still my favorite place to study. Oh, there are also cute girls that study there, too. Great place, and great coffee, especially a latte made by the star barista, Christian. The kitchen can put together fresh-cooked eggs. The pastry selection could be improved -- scones and almond croissants from Crema Artisan Bakery in Irvine would help (I tried them at Kean, down the street) -- that would bring up the fifth star. read more

I love the vibe and the drinks are awesome. Most of the staff is very friendly and nice. There are definitely a few (one taller guy in particular) who let it be known who their "favorites" are and is not friendly to the other people. That is a bummer because it creates a clicky atmosphere. It would be nice if all of them could be friendly to all. read more

This is one of those coffee shops where you just feel homey. We've passed this place several times before to get our dose of Peet's across the street and I've always wanted to try it because I find the name to be so cute lol Anyway, this place did not disappoint. The employees were super friendly and helpful. I melt at the sight of any green tea type of drinks whether it be hot or cold so I got the blended green tea. I've had many different versions of the whole blended green tea thing and I must say this place offers the best so far. It wasn't super sweet like some of the others I've tried that try to mask off the green tea flavor with sugar, for fear that the general population might not like the green tea taste? I don't know. Anyway, the blend is perfect and it wasn't strong which I didn't mind. We also got the iced white chocolate mocha and it had a kick to it unlike anything I've tried before. It was different in a good way. The Lost Bean has easily become one of our favorite coffee shops! read more

This is such a pleasant little spot to get coffee or tea. The staff are all fantastic. Because the business is small, the staff get to know you and remember what you usually order. They are so accommodating. I often walk there with my 18 mo. old grandson and they will give him a little cup of milk. I order tea which is quite good but my daughters all swear by their coffee and coffee drinks. Definitely a great alternative to the big chains. read more

Got the chai latte here and I have to say it was pretty good. Better than most places' chai lattes. It was a bit expensive but I hear that everything there is organic so at least there's that. My friend said her drink was a bit too milky/fatty so I guess all drinks aren't as good as the chai latte. This coffee house has quality beans let me tell ya. Well, I don't mean to be a complete coffee snob but I'm always more than satisfied whenever I come here. I love how they wont question or sigh when I order a complex drink. Some places don't really care to accommodate to your needs and the lost bean actually does effortlessly. The only downside is that that they can be jammed pack because they are incredibly wonderful. - I think I can put up with that. read more

I love this place, especially the separate room! The vibe and decor in there is much cleaner and classier than the main room where you order. It's like two different places both with a different theme. I would give this place five stars but their tables tend to be sticky after people eat on them and wifi connection is really slow. Everything would be perfect about this place if it was only coffee and pastry to conserve its theme and not be commercial or cafeteria-ish (that's just my taste in coffee shops though). It still has its own unique atmosphere with AMAZING music. It's a very hybrid place where you can study, eat, or just hang out. It's one of my faves in this area. read more

Roasted on site. Really good coffee. Way cheaper than most places. Nice older part of Tustin.

They blend wine and coffee house atmospheres very well! But their espresso was nothing special.

Ordered the white mocha. They use regular commercial whip cream Ross swiss. Was looking how they make their drinks observed the barista only steaming not pulling any shots of espresso, pre made I guess or they just pull batches. 3 stars for atmosphere .5 star for the white mocha quality and freshness compromise. .1/2 for barista sanitation. Observed the Barista cleaning steam wand with old dirty towel then place the towel on the top were his body was touching it. Then re-used it to sanitize the steam wand not following Health Department regulation putting it in sanitizer bucket if they have one since I didn't see it. If you think I'm being picky that's because I've been managing restaurants for over 13 years, currently managing a Starbucks and know the industry inside and out. If you dont believe me, check their last health department report. I've been visiting mom n pop coffee shops because I believe they bring a different experience. Love coming here and the atmosphere is great!. But not giving the 5 stars only because when you say "organic coffee and tea" that's what gets everyone. Only the coffee and tea are organic but not even the milk!? I wish you guys had organic milk cause then I could call my drink organic!. Also having organic food too would be great.
