We come here frequently with a large group of 10-15 people. On multiple occasions we've had Lexi as a server and I can't say enough good things about her. She is so incredibly kind and does an absolutely fantastic job taking care of our group. Her personality is bubbly and vibrant. She has the service down to a science. Our drinks stay full. Our food is out all together, hot, and delivered in a timely manner. She gets all our bills taken care of smoothly. We've taken our group to other restaurants in the area and they seem visibly and audibly annoyed by us being there. I get it, we're a big group at the end of the night. It can't be easy. Another one of those places that isn't great but also isn't bad. I've been here a few times for different reasons and i find that it is able to work for whatever. There are multiple options food wise, I've gotten a steak salad which wasn't bad and also the salmon which while not great, also not bad. I am a big fan of The Lowry for brunch. They have a good selection of a little bit of everything for any type of bruncher and I really appreciate that. My cousins and I came here on Christmas Eve for brunch for my cousin's 21st birthday. She ordered the mimosa flight that came with 4 flavors including pineapple, grapefruit, cranberry, and OJ. This was an awesome deal considering it was only $12. I ordered a coffee cocktail from their new drink menu that I forgot the name of, Pink(?) Lady or something Lady. It consisted of coffee liqueur, baileys, and cold press with a cocoa rim. I was pleasantly surprised when it came out in a pint glass, because I was expecting a smaller portion in a martini glass. My drink took a while to come out, but our server told us the new drink menu was less than a week old, so I think bartenders were still getting used to making the new drinks. For food, my go-to is always the Egg White Scramble, but I decided that I was going to make myself try something new this time. I chose the Avocado Crab Toast, and my cousins ordered the Berry French Toast and American Breakfast. The Crab Avocado Toast came with a fried egg, crab cake, roasted tomato and 3 avocado slices on ciabatta bread with bernaise sauce. I added a little Cholula sauce for a spicy kick. Overall, it was good, but it was still a pretty small portion, although I was reeeeally hungry, so it very well could be a good portion had I not been STARVING. I tried a few bites of the french toast and I was delicious. The mixed berry sauce and whipped cream were enough flavor that I didn't need to add any syrup. I'm not usually one to go for sweets for brunch, but a few bites were all I needed for my fill. Our server was nice enough to notice that it was my cousin's birthday and had a cheesecake with a sparkler brought out to us. It was super rich and very good. Tips: -If you come here for brunch on the weekends, get here before 10am. After 10, expect to wait as it gets packed fast. -There's a small patio in the back and they are dog friendly! The Lowry is a good brunch/lunch option. It can get pretty busy on the weekends but it's a great spot to connect with people for brunch meetings throughout the week. It has a diverse menu with a good number of options. It's basically a solid place to choose if you're meeting with someone and don't know where to go. You can't really go wrong here because anyone could find something they like. I've had lots of items from the menu and haven't had anything I didn't like. The Mac and cheese, soup and grilled cheese, American breakfast, breakfast bowl - all good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's expensive for the portion size. Most all of the portions are really small, which is why I say either brunch or lunch. If only the prices accommodated the sizes, I'd give 5! read more

Highly recommend this as a Bloody Mary brunch spot!! I ordered a Bloody Mary and asked for it spicy and it did not disappoint. I normally ignore bloody toppings but the cheese cube that came on a skewer with the bloody at the Lowry was so good - I nibbled on it as I sipped the drink and it was really tasty. The bloody also came with a beer pony which I didn't drink but my boyfriend said it was good. I've been here before many times in the past when I used to live in the Twin Cities, so while visiting the area again I decided to order Uber Eats from here because I remembered how good their breakfasts were here. Boy, was I disappointed this time around! While the food itself was delicious (I ordered an American Breakfast), the portions were really small, and certainly a LOT smaller than what I remembered in past outings. Very disappointing if you ask me, especially considering their American Breakfast costs $15.50. That certainly isn't bad compared to other restaurants, but I at least expect to see a decent amount of food. Perhaps it's the tough times right now that are getting on restaurants, perhaps it isn't. Because of Find Me GF reviews, I felt comfortable trying the Lowry and was thoroughly impressed. They DO have a separate GF menu and the server was knowledgeable and great. The Lowry actually has a large free parking lot in Uptown, which is a win right there. This is a great place to meet up for coffee/morning bloody breakfast meetings, or happy hour drinking/apps.....and they have a great dinner menu. The breakfast is the best, generous portions at a fair price. Food: I've been here for breakfast and was thoroughly impressed, however my dinner here tonight wasn't the greatest. I was in the mood for a grilled cheese + tomato basil soup so I ordered that duo. However both of them were very boujee versions; the grilled cheese had avocado and some sort of tomato paste and the tomato basil had a crusted cheese on top like a French onion soup. I would give this place a five star rating since my friends and I always go for HH drinks plus the food is so good! However, I noticed that they charged my card a few days ago $100 more then what my check was. I called right away and explained the mishap and the lady said someone would call me so it is now Monday and I had to call in the morning but couldn't talk to the manager since it was their breakfast rush and the manager didn't have time however the lady I talk to took down my information once again and then called me to tell me that someone will call me. Our server was super friendly and offered many different suggestions for cocktails and beverages (although part of it was because some of the drink specials I wanted was out). I got the steak and pierogies, which came with fried onion and a horseradish based sauce and my partner just had a regular steak for our main entree Everything was delicious and flavorful. Favored as a three meal eatery focused on Oysters, Burgers, Breakfast and Booze it was while being mindful of capacity that a stop was made at The Lowry, the space at 2112 Hennepin Avenue found bustling at 10am but seating for one easily accommodated at one of several high-tops adjacent the Bar. Opened in 2011 by industry veterans David Burley and Stephanie Shimp, former servers who acted on a hunch in 1993 and have since grown their brand across nine eateries, guests entering the Uptown space will quickly find themselves greeted by friendly faces behind a hostess podium, the former Hollywood Video spread across two sections and dark wood with Orange accents. Serving a diversity of options from 6:30am until 2:00am daily, the menu essentially an "all-day" affair though there are subtle differences before and after four o'clock, it was with Coffee in hand and Golf on television that two items were ordered, an inquiry as to whether they could be served simultaneously thankfully answered with the affirmative. Described as an "Urban Kitchen," the precise meaning of such apparently gussied up Comfort Foods with no lack of variety, it was setting aside popular items including Cheese Curds and Patty Melts that plates arrived after twenty minutes, a first glance raising suspicions about "Dixie Chicken" that looked and tasted like overcooked Strips atop a fluffy Round no different than one might make for themselves at La Quinta or Days Inn, the Gravy at least competent while "Maple Syrup" no doubt came from a bottle of Mrs. Butterworth or Log Cabin. Setting aside 2/3 of the mess and turning attention to a "Feature," one of four monthly specials tacked onto The Lowry's Wine list, it was thankfully dense Bread Pudding soaked in what tasted like melted Pralines that buoyed an otherwise forgettable morning, though the swirl of Reddi-wip served as a reminder that in reality this too was composed of ingredients no better than what is found at Denny's. read more

Don't let the soft title fool you since he's the grandmaster of the grading system that few ever use for food, except for the few businesses that truly makes an exceptional impression upon the reviewer. After last nite, The Lowry definitely earned a very special commendation from me as Sofa King good. The happy hour menu there definitely had the little piggy in me scream in joy (no pun-intended) while I devour away the delish goodies that were presented at my table. As someone who digs the greasy dishes, the fried chicken there was like manna from heaven for me. Their HH price also restored my faith in the restaurant system that places do exist where you can get something like 10 pieces of chicken for only 5 bucks. The oysters there were also fresh and complimented well with the cocktail sauce that came out with it. I've been here mostly for breakfast and have liked it. The food is good and service has been good as well. I've had the American Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, Spinach Frittata, Cakes Eggs and Links and the Chicken and Waffles. I liked mostly everything, but didn't care for the gravy poured on the chicken and waffles (should have gotten it on the side). I also like that I can take the rest of my coffee to go...they'll even give a fresh cup of it. Quick tip, if you're craving french toast as well as eggs definitely order the Cakes, Eggs and Links. Went in for brunch and it was a bit disjointed. Place was packed for a rainy Saturday night but it was bacon fest! I got the farmers breakfast and whoa mama, it was MASSIVE! I don't know what kind of farmer they are serving but I felt I was about to go to war with this massive heap of perfectly fried hash brows, cheese, sitting ever so graciously on a bed of scrambled eggs. First bite was love. Second bite was a little less exciting. Eleventh bite was just tiring. Towards the end of my tiring battle with the breakfast of a farmer, I rest my fork to slowly draw up my white flag and discover, a brown hair tucked into the later of hash and egg. UGH. Why must it mock me? I point it out to our server and she said "oh, I wonder how that got there" and just took it away. No remedy. No sorry. No nothing. This was my second time visiting here, last time it was for a business meeting and the chicken wings were great, I do remember that. Didn't enjoy the Lowry as much as I hoped I would. The first time we went there the strong smell of fish turned us away - yes it was that strong! But I am no quitter! Found myself in the neighborhood again, and decided to give it another try. No fish smell this time, so we decided to stick around. The food and service were OK. We ordered a steak salad and a bison burger. The burger was a bit too dry, I am guessing the patty was overcooked and not enough toppings and condiments to make it juicer. The Lowry is a staple of uptown and it never disappoints. I tried the breakfast burrito and it might be my new favorite breakfast in town

Delicious Sunday brunch! There was about a 20 minute wait around 11am, but it wasn't too bad. They have a small parking lot in back otherwise you have to find street parking. The coffee was great and comes with unlimited refills, but the other alcoholic breakfast drinks looked great as well. I had the chilaquiles which was recommended by our waitress, full of flavor, and was spicy but not too overwhelming. It was a big portion and I took half home. My family had the berry french toast, Denver scramble, and banana french toast. The French toast were both incredible, but the banana french toast was stuffed with banana custard and was phenomenal. The Denver scramble was also great and a big portion and the hash browns were done perfectly and had lots of flavor. Attentive wait staff even with it being so busy. I was so impressed with our first visit. I did not expect amazing top notch food in such a low key location. Our server was Heather. She was friendly, knew the menu and her timing was perfect. Service was wonderful. We ordered oysters the short rib and the grilled chicken sandwich. Our drink order was the house old-fashioned which is cherry oriented and delicious. It comes off as rich and chocolatey. I had a Hendrixx martini and it was one of the best I've ever been served. I strongly recommend the short rib. The chimichurri sauce is extraordinary. I ordered the chicken sandwich because I felt like after oysters and the lobster bisque which was my side and I did not have to pay extra for it. I would be very hungry, and it would be a good thing to take home lunch the next day. I took one bite because the bread was so toasty and I was so happy that I did. This is not your ordinary grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken breast is very thin, well marinated and juicy the Swiss cheese is crispy and the slaw is, the absolute lightest and most delicious accompaniment to the sandwich. If you drink whiskey, this is your bar spot. I'm not a whiskey fan, so none of the specialty drinks appealed to me but I had a good time here nonetheless. I was in town for the Gopher game and my friend Toyin picked me up and we headed out for a drink. I found this place on yelp earlier when looking for a dinner spot but we ended up going to another uptown restaurant. I saw a picture of their jalapeño cheese curds with blueberry ketchup and it remained imprinted in my memory. We were thinking of Chino Latino but they didn't have Friday HH specials, so we figured we'd try this place out and get those cheese curds. They were very tasty, but also a big order so enough to split with more than 2 people. We also ordered the two deviled eggs as well.
