The Lox, first I must say it is a perfect name for a bagel shop. Upon entering this short north hidden gem , you will walk through doors to a very clean, nicely decorated establishment. The staff and owners are very welcoming. The menu is straight forward with "lox" of delicious options. I have tried most everything on the menu and everything has been fresh and delicious. Orders can be easily modified as well. Seating is nice but limited. And the weekend mornings this place fills up fast. Unfortunately some people like to camp out at their tables. That kinda stinks. Due to possible food allergy issues, I am avoiding egg and dairy until I can be tested. I emailed The Lox to ask about their bagels and received a response with half an hour. No egg or dairy, yay! This morning I ordered The Lox sandwich with the Woodhouse vegan cream cheese on a salt and herb bagel. The cheese is a softer texture than dairy cream cheese, more similar to hummus, and was quite delicious. It paired well with the salmon, onions, and capers. I would choose to eat this again even if I am able to put dairy back in my diet in the future. I was told the vegan cream cheese also pairs nicely with the jam they offer, and I trust that suggestion and will keep in mind as well. read more

These bagels are legit. Even though they could have just made good bagels and crushed all other bagel shops in town they went even further and made damn good sandwiches. As a visitor from Brooklyn, I was pleasantly surprised at how fantastic the bagels were here. I went two days in a row and got an everything with lox spread and on the third day was disappointed I had booked a flight home so early that I wouldn't have time to go again. The creative menu makes this spot not just any bagel shop- Bagels are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with spreads unlike any other. The Lox Bagel on Everything is my absolute favorite! Awesome place! I got a sourdough bagel with plain cream cheese and it tasted great! It is very affordable and the bagels came out fast on these cute mini trays. They have a little parking lot where we were able to find a spot on a Sunday morning. A huge fan of this small restaurant tucked away on a side street in the short north. I grew up in New York, so my 5-star bagel review means something. I like them HOT or warm. They bake the bagels throughout the day, so they are incredibly fresh. There are only a few kinds of bagels ( which I love) everything, plain, sesame, and herb salt bagels. The cream cheese is also very fresh, homemade, and unique. My favorite is chive cream cheese, a pedestrian choice for sure, but this is comfort food for me so, who cares. There are more adventurous choices like the beet and thyme cream cheese. You don't taste the beet it is mostly used for coloring. The staff is amiable, the owner is usually there, and the service is fast. They are adding new sandwiches and side dishes. The owner, the staff, and the final product are the winners. I am looking forward to watching them grow. There are other decent bagel places in Columbus, but this place is a combination of a Montreal Bagel, and New York add the staff, the ambiance, and that makes this place unique. read more

Stopped in mid morning Saturday and although it was busy, there was plenty of room to dine-in. Plenty of options, I went with a breakfast bagel sandwich and coffee. Great spot for a quick bite. Tried lox for the first time Saturday morning and it was OK. The bagels were average and what you would expect of of a Bagel when you're not at a bagel place. I split the bagel/egg/cheese on sesame bagel and also a sesame bagel with plain cream cheese half and half with a friend. It was convenient that they were both already cut in half.
