Five stars will never feel like enough for Mike. I was heartbroken to learn that he passed away in December 2025. He was so much more than a massage therapist -- he was a true healer with one of the kindest souls I've ever met. This guy is a HEALER. Don't go to him if you want to a soft cozy rub down-- DO go if you've given up finding a doctor who can help cure your chronic pain AND you finally want results. I was totally hopeless, having seen doc after doc trying to find the source of the endless tingling/discomfort I was having throughout my body. But, nothing. No results. Still, I KNEW something wasn't right. I saw Mike's reviews and gave it a shot. This guy -- a guru in every sense-- listened intently and compassionately as I shared the frustration of my experiences, then calmly and confidently explained my body to me, why it was acting the way it was, and how, over time, he was going to fix it. And... he did. On the table, it didn't feel so good, but it was worth the discomfort - I felt results in one session, and within a few sessions more, I was good as new. Unbelievable. Not only is he knowledgeable about the human body, he has the strength to match what he knows to get deep into the problem areas and release the knots, adhesions and tension in the muscles and tendons! It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be; I really appreciated that when the pain felt too intense that Mike listened and backed off. It's not a relaxing massage ; but I appreciate that his style is helping you to heal your issues at the root. Mike says that after a couple years it can start to feel enjoyable depending upon the state you are in when you start working with him. I think I prefer addressing the symptoms and the roots and would have liked to get the knots worked out in my upper back but still enjoyed the massage. I def felt a shift of my energy afterwards like he pushed something back into alignment. I'll try it again thanks Mike. Wow. Totally recommend! I came in for chronic shoulder/neck pain and Michael uncovered areas I wasn't even aware were a problem. Nice location, plenty of parking, office was easy to find, clean, nice pleasant relaxing atmosphere. Michael was very nice, took a few minutes to ask questions and find out what I was looking for but kept things moving and preserved time for the appointment itself. I appreciated that he explained what he was doing, why, how I should expect each area to feel afterwards, and what his recommendations were for achieving the results I want. I asked for and received deep tissue; much more effective than anything I've experienced before, but you definitely have to be prepared that there are moments that are uncomfortable or painful. I felt like Michael knew what he was doing and I trusted his expertise, and I felt so much better after he finished each area. Some parts of the massage was good others not so good. For instance, back massage was great. Just the right amount of pressure to my shoulders and neck. Scalp massage was terrible. It felt like she was purposefully tangling my hair. There was no massage. Only scratching. If I were to give a tip, skip the scalp massage. read more

I don't take it lightly, writing this negative review. However, I had such a different experience than all these five stars, I felt I needed to share. Let's start with the positives: - The office and studio are clean, well decorated, comfortable, and there is classical music which I like much better than new-age flute. - Mike is very professional. He is the most knowledgeable masseur I've ever been to and really knows how human bodies are supposed to work. He instructed me which muscles to strengthen if I really want to fix my posture, and for that, I am grateful. Now for the negative: Mike beat the crap out of me. I have had painful deep-tissue massages before. They have always made me feel better, so I really let Mike dig into me. I left feeling no relief, only extreme soreness. The soreness wore off after a day and a half with the help of some naproxen, but four days later, I still don't feel better than when I walked in. I have also been left with an enormous v-shaped bruise on my right hip. (I'm pretty fit, it takes a lot to make me sore, and I do not bruise easily.) ETA: I've been informed by multiple professionals that bruising is liable to occur during massages. Please only take that as a measure of Mike's strength, not as a problem. I don't really know what you should conclude from this review. Mike seems to be an amazing fix for all the other broken people who have gone to see him, so maybe he'll be the right answer for you too. I found Mike during my desperate search for relief from debilitating back pain, and I believe that he is one of the primary factors in my ability to return to normal function and a virtually pain free life. It was during a particularly bad episode of spasms when my acupuncturist Dr. Lily Wu was out of town. I could barely walk, and I needed immediate help. I knew not to expect a relaxing, meditative massage...but something therapeutic that would actually bring lasting relief (I feel it is important to emphasize this. OMG...Mike is the BEST. Seriously, don't waste your money on the fufu fancy massages at Burke Williams. This guy will change your life. I discovered Mike earlier this year from a friend's check in and after reading his Yelp reviews I decided to give him a try. Boy, am I so glad I did! Fast forward to today, I did my first Crossfit competition this past weekend and knew I was going to need a massage come Monday. On Sunday morning, I booked my appointment online for Monday (a big plus!). I recently went to the Massage Guru for the first time last month. I have recurring back problems, and I was interested that he assessed some of my issues just by looking at me. He then said that he would be doing some things that might hurt a little, but the effects of the massage would last much longer than the couple of days you usually get to enjoy after a good massage. Well the verdict is in: this guy is great. He really knows what he is doing, and he fixed some back problem issues I had. I would say that overall most massages are about a 2.5. This guy is a 4+, and I'm still looking for that 5 star massage (if it even exists!). Would I recommend him? A resounding yes. Will I return and get another massage? No question about it. I am an aerobics instructor and teach anywhere from 8 - 14 high impact classes per week. It takes a definite toll on my body so I was searching for someone who could work on my troubled areas and make my life more comfortable. Mike is an amazing massage therapist, the best I've ever had, and I've had some good ones who could do some great bodywork. I came to him with shoulder impingement that has been causing bursitis, and more recently, near-constant pain in my hands and wrists. Mike not only massaged the key areas, he gave me several exercises to do at home to improve my posture. Over months and probably years, I hope to correct my posture to the point where I won't keep hurting myself. ive avoided writing yelp reviews in the past because i always felt that really good places have enough good reviews. for example: gary danko. do they really need a 1028th review? nope. and likewise for bad places - do i really need to write a review that hammers the nail into the coffin? nope. however, i feel like i am doing a huge injustice by not writing one for mike. for anyone that has ever gone in to get a massage and left in dissapointment, be assured, mike will not leave you dissapointed. he gives information when needed, talks when appropriate, applies just the right amount of pressure and has a very controlled set of hands. there is never a moment where i catch myself thinking..."what is he doing?" (i know we've all felt that at some point!) also the service is very consistent. ive been to places where the 1st time was great, the 2nd time was good, but by the 4th-5th time - the massage was mediocre and then i ask myself..."self...was this massage as yummy as gary dankos?" and if the answer is no, then i move on. next week will be my 6th deep tissue massage from mike. i have refered my sister, my coworkers, and even my mother. my mother, who was hesistent that he could assist with her back/hip pain (and of the massage itself) was happy that she felt some relief. a couple things to note: - for those that absolutely require a good foo-foo setting in order to feel like money is well spent, you might want to reconsider as this will not be like the W. but for those of you that feel like atmosphere is a bonus next to a good massage, then this is the place to go. its in a convenient location (close to ebay in campbell), and the room is clean, comfortable and quiet. - mike does such a good job at fixing your body that there is no need to go more than once a month. for some people that want to see the economy thrive from consumer spending, this is bad news. however, for people like me that are looking for value - chiching! read more

There are a few times a business truly cares more about its client over $$$$. Mike is a person who I've been personally seeing for 5 years. After which a sort of bond client and business Is formed. Mike is a person who truly cares about the clients, where if your a little tight on funds for the year he MIGHT just give you a discounted rate... But dont be expecting this without seeing him for 5 years. Mike is truley a man of his craft getting to the problem of everyones pain.Now not everyone needs a mike massage for some people it can be a bit intense. Those that do usually have back pain from sitting at a computer screen all day. Or lower back pain for those standing all day. Mike was the first person to notice the cause of the pain in between my shoulders was caused by my right leg shorter then the left. No doctor, mri, or even cat scan showed anything wrong. I met mike a few months ago when I first came to work at burke williams. I am new to massage and have much to learn however I also have this hip issue that has been a pain for several years now.
