Yesterday I did a Yelp search of Burgers in the Arden-Arcade area in Sacramento. I landed on The Melt. I have never been and decided yesterday was the day. Parking was super easy. Upon entering the establishment, I was really impressed by the overall vibe of the place. It is super clean. I also appreciated that the kitchen is viewable and you can watch as they prepare your food. I also liked the patio they have for nice days, it looks comfortable. I ordered the Double Spicy Mission Melt Burger. It consisted of 2/3 lbs. total of Angus & Wagyu beef, chopped and grilled with 2 slices of Pepper jack, jalapeños, avocado, lettuce, spicy Melt sauce on an Artisan bun. I also ordered regular fries. WOW!! The burger was super huge!! It was cooked to a perfect Medium which I prefer. It tasted so good. All ingredients are clean. No artificial colors, HFC, or preservatives. Pure heaven!! The fries were perfectly cooked and coated with a really tasty seasoning. And the size of the order of fries was crazy huge!!! Worth mentioning is their Ranch Dressing is very creamy and delicious. Oh, the pickles. How could I forget to mention that they give you a whole pickle cut in half to accompany your Burger? Yum. I enjoyed every bite I could muster to eat. I was super full and was unable to finish eating everything. Pro Tip 1 - It is their 15th Anniversary and they are offering a free shake if you give the password/code "Heartshake" through Sunday 8/I6/26. I went with the Snickerdoodle Shake. So thick and creamy. Very indulgent and a very good choice. The manager was really nice and her service was top notch. Thank you!! I highly recommend trying this place out if you haven't already done so - 5*

After an adventurous month in South Africa, my wife and I were craving our routine of having homemade meals- hence the hiatus that I took from trying new restaurants and Yelping. When we decided to step back onto the scene, we wanted to make sure that it was something that would knock our socks off...The Melt did exactly that! Since the establishment is located roughly 30 minutes from our home, we decided to have our order delivered via DoorDash. My wife and often share similar tastes, so we both opted for the Double BBQ Bacon MeltBurger. I ordered the garlic parmesan fries, while my wife chose the cheddar bacon ranch fries. The garlic parmesan fries were good...but my wife's bacon ranch fries were delicious (I stole a couple while she wasn't looking)! On to the main event....the burger...my gawd it's been quite awhile since I have had such a memorable burger. From the bun to the meats to the cheese, it was well worth it. I have The Melt bookmarked within my Yelp profile and am already looking forward to a future opportunity to revisit their menu!

What could be wrong about a place that has cheese in almost every dish? They have a large array of burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese, and Mac and cheese along with main and side salads and milkshakes and cookie options for dessert. We shared a great patty melt. Perfectly crisp and toasted bread enveloped a yummy beef patty and two kinds of cheese, along with jammy caramelized onions. The fries were divine. Light, crispy, flavorful, with a special seasoning. I think they finally supplanted the fries I remember from Germany that to me were always the ultimate. 10/10. Delicious drinks- I had an Oaktown root beer. We both enjoyed the meal, shared the sandwich and fries and it was perfect. Definitely membership of the clean plate club. Simple seating with tables and chairs and plenty of light. You order at the counter or at a kiosk and pick up at the counter. Drinks are self serve including ice water at a station adjacent to the counter. The staff member we ordered from was welcoming and professional. Be aware the parking lot gets crowded during mealtimes so plan accordingly.

This was my first time here. I wanted something savory, good, and just smothered. This place was perfect and satisfied my cravings. The indoor seating was nice, plenty of space, food was done fast, and staff were friendly.

We came here on a Sunday and were able to find a table inside without much trouble. Ordering is done through a kiosk, and you pick up your food at the front when it's ready. Overall, the food tasted good. The only downside was that my hamburger wasn't cooked the way I requested. I visited The Melt in Sacramento, CA [2070 Fair Oaks Blvd] on Wednesday, 05/27/26, around 2 PM. I was happy to come back to this restaurant, as Liz Zuniga (Guest Happiness Manager) encouraged me to give this restaurant another shot. In this visit, I proceeded to order the following food items: * Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich * Melty Mac * Tomato Soup The chicken sandwich was juicy and fried to perfection. The size of the chicken breast was huge. The spicy melt sauce was delicious, too. I added mayonnaise to enhance the flavor. The Melty Mac was decently prepared. I added black pepper on top. Lastly, the Tomato Soup was absolutely incredible and divine, just like I remembered from the first visit. What stood out about this visit was the associate, Timothy. He was so extroverted and pleasantly kind to the point where he was engaging with all of the guests inside the restaurant. I enjoyed our conversation, as he was super welcoming and ensured that I was taken care of. He even went around to offer complimentary chocolate chip cookies to everyone! I'd say his unforgettable hospitality definitely brought this review up to 5 stars. As a bonus, I liked how this restaurant offered free Wi-Fi. It was super convenient, as I needed to complete work on my laptop. The inside of the restaurant was clean and presentable. Parking was easy to find around this time, too. I'll definitely be back to try more food items from the menu.

I'll leave this as a 3 instead of a 2, but under protest. The reason being is that I'm willing to come back, but they need to make some improvements. First, the good. The tomato soup was actually very good, not simply an afterthought side dish. I ordered the patty melt...at a place called "The Melt," with pictures of items covered in gooey cheese. False advertising? Look at my picture. While the cheese had good taste, there was nowhere near "the melt effect" one would expect. The patty was cooked well, but has no seasoning... therefore, no flavor. I think they don't season it because of the supposed melt sauce...I say supposed, because there was no sauce on my melt, though the description says melt sauce. I sat there with great tomato soup, a sandwich with minimal cheese, and a soda...for $$. I would definitely give it a second try....but I guess if you actually want cheese, or flavor, for that matter, avoid the patty melt

Glad there is a The Melt not too far from our house. I usually get their classic chicken sandwich but this time got a melt burger, sweet potato fries and a chocolate milkshake. The spread they use on the sandwiches is awesome. Easy to order. Fast turnaround. Plenty of seats. And food was grubbin'. Tables were kept clean which I like too. Only thing is tough parking sometimes. But definitely worth it to make a visit. read more

This is a great location, right on the Sac State Campus. The obvious concept is melted cheese on burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches etc. I decided to copy my girlfriend on her choice of the Patty Melt, she got the tomato soup and I got the Sweet potato fries. The Patty melt was very tasty if not a bit greasy, and the Sweet Potato fries nice and soft with a good taste. I tried my girlfriend's tomato soup and it was excellent. If you are craving mom's tomato soup and grilled cheese, this is the place to go. The menu has all matter of burgers and fries, as well as craft sodas. I would come back as it is centrally located and food was good. read more

She also was very attentive and made sure that we were satisfied with our order. I am rating this location versus the Folsom location. I went to the Folsom location first a few weeks ago and ordered the steak and cheese sandwich and Parmesan garlic fries. The Folsom location made the food to order and everything was fresh. The garlic fries were extremely hot right out of the fryer. And the customer service was excellent. I tried this location a week ago and the food was OK. The fries were not made fresh as if it was just sitting under a warmer. They don't use real garlic chunks like they do at the Folsom location. It was more like shredded garlic. The sandwich seemed soggy too. Not well put together I'm giving this location a 3 based on customer service alone read more

I owe this place an update - five star rating still stands. Burgers are nice and HOT here, plenty juicy, they'll cook medium or well done (I like medium and too many places don't offer it), service is incredibly fast, and prices haven't gone up! I have to confess that since my first visit I've been stuck on just one menu item though (the Original burger) - I simply cannot drive by this place and not eat one, even if I'm not hungry! The food was amazing, everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the restaurant itself was very clean and welcoming. Our family of 7 came here (first time for all of us) for an early dinner following my grandson's football game nearby. We were cheerfully greeted as we entered by Timothy behind the counter. The restaurant was clean and we were able to secure a table for all 7 of us. My oldest daughter (in the high tech industry) ordered for herself, her husband and the two kids from the kiosk, which she loved, and I ordered for my wife, youngest daughter and myself at the counter with Timothy, which I loved. The food was prepared quickly and everything was DELICIOUS! Timothy was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I guarantee that this young man has a very bright future ahead of him no matter what career he seeks. They have the most amazing staff and great customer service! I also order their tomato soup it's my fav comes with little cheesy croutons and the mushroom melt, and the Swiss mushroom burger, great size and plenty of food. Not just a burger joint...a safe house. By the time my nephew Auggie (AKA Mr. B. ) and I reached Sacramento, the situation had deteriorated. We once again found ourselves one step ahead of the bounty hunters. Names were circulating. Photos were recent. The kind of recent that means you don't linger. We were blowing through Sacramento when I made the call. "Tighten your seatbelt, Mr. B," I growled as I crossed three lanes of traffic and took the offramp at 90. Our destination: The Melt. Not just because of the food.Because of Remi. Remi is known in certain circles. The kind that operate just outside what's legally sanctioned. If you move through the underground long enough, you hear her name spoken carefully, usually followed by: "If she's there, you're covered." She's worked with us before. From the moment we walked in, she clocked us. No surprise. No hesitation. Just a look that said, "Sit. Order. Act normal." Which we did. Burgers hit the table fast. Perfectly cooked. Grilled cheese doing exactly what grilled cheese is supposed to do when your nerves are frayed, time is tight, and the hunters are on your heels. Everything looked normal. That was the point. Halfway through the meal, the temperature in the room shifted. You only notice it you know how. Living in the underworld, you develop that sixth sense. The door opened. Then stayed open a second too long. Two men. Wrong energy. Eyes not on the menu. Scanning the room. The hunters had found the safe house. Remi didn't flinch. She slid into motion like this was a drill. She intentionally dropped some cookies on our table, giving us a reason to stay seated while she created noise elsewhere. She pulled the host into an animated conversation near the front, physically blocking the hunters' line of sight. She laughed loudly enough to draw every eye in the room toward her. Then she passed our table, never breaking stride, leaned in just long enough to drop a bag on the table and whisper, "I packed a to-go box. Watch for my signal, then walk." What followed was professional-grade misdirection. She ran cover so cleanly it should be taught. Remi stepped directly into the hunters' path, greeted them like valued guests, and pulled them into a maze of questions and choices that demanded their attention. Orders, options, substitutions, small talk. She kept them stationary, facing her, eyes up. By the time they broke off and scanned the room, their window of opportunity was gone. Mr. B. and I were already out the back, through a route that absolutely exists and absolutely doesn't. No alarms.No drama.No one spilled a drink. That's the thing about The Melt. If you don't know, it's just a great place to eat. Comfort food done right. Fast, satisfying, reliable. But if you do know? It's a refuge.A pause button. A place where the right people can disappear for just long enough. And Remi? She's the reason the operation works. Outstanding service. Impeccable timing. Ice-cold under pressure. Hmmm, so today's visit was early, and The melt had maybe 10 people eating at tables already, Togo orders stacking up, I was looking forward to the food since past experiences were good. Today we ordered 1 chopped salad, chicken was very lean (scarce) and honestly all the toppings were half of what I had before plus it was mostly salad, I suppose on a chop salad I expect it to be like a chop salad,,the ranch was watered down, thin & runny. next, ordered the "classic chicken sandwich" this looked nothing like it did before... it looked like they pounded out the chicken so it hung way over the sides of the bun -it was thin and the crust was overcooked around the chicken, there was nothing on it but on the bottom bun it had some thousand island dressing with chopped up jalapeños all over it. It was nothing like I had before and honestly I scraped off all of that sauce with the chopped up jalapeños and seeds ... it didn't taste great and also was not what I wanted. The last time it was a nice size chicken patty it wasn't beat out to be a thin piece over cooked patty that had lost all its moisture, it had lettuce and tomato and maybe even cheese on it... the bun was a different as well. Too bad because I was looking forward to eating that. And then we ordered two children's hamburgers , (2) this time the hamburger patties were half the size of what they were and I believe they are frozen patties, they smashed them and they were burnt on one side completely. Coming out well done & dry NO SAIUCE on buns. Cheese came on those and from my perspective the cheese was cheap or imitation. Last time this was not the case it was a different bun and the burger size was different and it wasn't smashed. The hamburgers fit the bun because it was a larger bun and the hamburgers were not thin beat out patties. Also last time they gave pickles spears, which I think everybody liked and this time they gave wet bags with wet apples cut up (3 slices) not a fan of this at all Especially the wet paper bag on the fries. Note: The fries look like frozen fries now or thin compared to last time. Fries were seasoned and hot. Once cold lost all life, compared to MsDonalds. Here's the one thing I'd say everybody's offering the smashed burgers but not everybody wants them I sure hope they didn't change their adult burger because if they did they'll be no reason to go back to this place ... the things that set them apart before are the things now that compared to pretty much every other burger joint... where you can get it off the dollar meal. Consistency is something that I value and I also value that things don't change as soon as they get popular. The chocolate shake was good , and that was the same. It was one of the best things iv experienced all year I couldn't even take more than a few bites before I picked up my phone and called them to tell them how they are just doing amazing. However , on 09/08/25 I ordered a sandwich - Sicilian chicken to only bite into my sandwich and to my dismay I found a piece of black plastic piece in my sandwich . I called the restaurant immediately and asked to speak with the manager ; she was the interim and said she would reach out to the regional manager . Never got a call back almost a month out now ! Stopped into The Melt for the first time and had such a great experience. Timothy greeted us right away; super welcoming, genuinely friendly, and full of great recommendations. We took his advice and wow... he did not miss. I ordered the Swiss & Mushroom Burger and added jalapeños, and it was perfect. Juicy, flavorful, and the jalapeños gave it the best little kick. We also tried the Spicy Chicken and added pepperjack cheese with a side of Bacon Cheddar Ranch Fries and those were SOOOO GOOD, like dangerously good. Yesterday, my partner and I received some of the best service we've ever experienced at a quick service restaurant. Timothy in particular was an exceptional associate, he was super friendly, helpful, and conversational which is a quality seldom seen in restaurants nowadays. They have a really nice BBQ sauce bar available for customers to try their different sauces. On this visit we went with a chicken combo plate with a piece of BBQ Chicken and a piece of Grilled Chicken along with a serving of mac and cheese and a serving of coleslaw. I took these items to go and enjoyed them at home. The service from the employees was pretty good, my food was packaged properly and was pretty much ready when I arrived. Let's talk about the food. I'm not the biggest fan of coleslaw but the one they serve at Buckhorn continues to be one of my favorites-especially when I top it with a touch of bbq sauce-pretty dynamite. I devoured their mac n cheese-it struck a very good balance of creaminess and cheesiness and the macaroni were a perfect texture-not all mushy-I really enjoyed this side dish. The grilled chicken was my least favorite of the two chickens I tried, it was a little on the dry side but a few dips in their bbq sauce was pretty helpful in making it much better. The bbq chicken was my favorite of the two chicken dishes, coated in bbq sauce and it was very juicy with a great mix of seasoning with that awesome bbq chicken skin texture-yep this was a great bite. In closing, I would say my dining experience at Buckhorn was pretty good and I look forward to getting back there and next time maybe get their famous Tri-tip again-it's to die for!!
