I love how they cook the burgers here. Mine was perfect with just the right amount of pink, not overcooked like at many places. It was a good size and juicy. I had the mushroom Swiss burger, and it was great. My only complaint is that there was no mayo or any sauce on it, which I think adds flavor. The fries are large and tasty--definitely a must-have. I like that they have an outdoor patio, but we sat by a tree that had a bit of a smell. It wasn't too bad, but still noticeable. We also had to park quite far from the restaurant because the parking lot was full. I will definitely visit again. read more

Located in the new complex on Fair Oaks and Howe, there is currently plenty of parking. However once Cold Stone and Urban Plates opens, I can see the parking being a little tight. Inside was spacious and they do have a decent sized outside patio. We ordered online for pick up and the food was ready within 15 minutes. When we arrived we got our cups for our fountain drinks and unfortunately it was flat. We told the man behind the counter and he said it's been acting up the past few weeks and considering they haven't been open long, that's a problem that should have been taken care of by now. He did offer us canned soda instead though. They do not have Pepsi or Coke products as their fountain options which I wasn't expecting. Apparently the brand they use uses cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. My co-worker is a huge fan of this place and recommended it, she's eaten the BBQ bacon burger here 3 times in the last week but I opted for the regular melt burger. I did ask for it well done and it still had some pink to it but not a lot to be a big deal for me. It was super juicy and cheesy. The melt sauce added a nice flavor but I still added mustard and ketchup. The jalapeño/pickle blend didn't add much flavor or spice, just a nice crunch factor. I also got a side of fries and while they were good, I feel it was overly seasoned with what I'm assuming is parsley??? Stopped of at The Melt for a quick lunch while the family was traveling. We got an AVOCADO BACON MELT and a KIDS CHEESEBURGER with fries. The Avocado Bacon Melt was a perfect sandwich for my wife and I to split. It was not over powering on the jalapeños. The fries were crisp and perfect in their flavor and the kid polished them of immediately. The attendant was very helpful on walking me through the menu since I didn't see the kids menu. He corrected me on my order and pointed out that it would be best to order for their. As for the ambiance the place was clean and well kept. This is an industrial modern space, so not much atmosphere. You order at counter & get a clicker that rings when your order ready. All natural soda fountain drinks--loved ginger beer! We tried original melt burger & 3 cheese classic plus fries ( with parsley & salt). Meat was tasty & pink medium rare just as we like it. Jalapeno-pickles might be too spicy for some, but we liked. Brioche bun holds up throughout meal. Shoestring fries a bit more potatoey than some-- delicious to us. The regular fries come with parsley, but you can order without. Getting to the place is a bit convoluted-- coming from Sac Sac is correct side to be on, otherwise you have to go around. Map it! read more

The parking lot is relatively small, accommodating around 10 shops that will eventually all be operational. Upon approaching The Melt, you'll find both indoor and outdoor seating options. Once inside, you can place your order at a self-serve kiosk or wait for a cashier to assist you. I opted for the BBQ Bacon MeltBurger, featuring over a third of a pound of their signature Angus and Wagyu beef blend, grilled and filled with melted cheddar, smoked bacon, crispy onions, Memphis-style BBQ sauce, and served on a soft artisan bun. Cooked to a perfect medium (pink and juicy). I paired the burger with a side of thin-cut Idaho russet fries seasoned with their signature Melt spice. I also got water, but I was intrigued by their soda offerings, which don't include the usual Pepsi or Coca-Cola. My coworker mentioned that their specialized beverage options are quite tasty. At 12:30 PM on a Friday, the venue was bustling, but the space is large enough to handle the crowd comfortably. Despite the rush, the food came out quickly--my burger was ready in less than five minutes. My coworker ordered a Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which took about eight minutes. The BBQ Bacon MeltBurger was absolutely delicious, and the fries were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I was introduced to melt at sac state when they would be one of the trucks that came weekly to campus for the dorms. Fast forward many years, today I ended up visiting the melt for lunch and it was a great experience. Not only is the store very clean and well kept, the staff is very timely with orders and friendly. Kim was gracious enough to take time to come to the floor to compliment my (fluffy white and pink hearts puffer) jacket her and the other ladies admired. Totally unnecessary however I really appreciated that moral boost more than she knows! Thank you again Kim. Timothy, the young man in the front, greeted us and took my order as well. The food came out pretty fast so it was nice and warm! Visited The Melt for the first time today to have lunch with my family. They have plenty of options available, our food came out quicker than expected while still being hot and fresh. I ate the garlic chicken mac and LOVED it. The outdoor seating had plenty of shade during this time of day (about 11-11:30am). Remi (or Remy), had exceptional customer service! She went above and beyond to move a table for my family to sit together comfortably, grab us extra dipping sauces, offering to take our picture and bringing my husband and I a small sweet treat to say Happy Anniversary. First of all the guy at the register didnt speak great english so when i asked him about vegan options and if the bun had dairy in it he didnt understand what i was asking. Finally i got an answer out of him and said i wanted an impossible patty on a bun with the veggies i chose. Instead my food came out lettuce wrapped and when i said they made it wrong instead of being reasonable and taking it back and fixing it as employees they just brought out a flat ass toasted bun for me to fix it myself. I paid you and tipped yall to make my food right and when it wasnt right i had to make my own burger. Its bull sh*t. I havent even taken my first bite before reviewing this place.
