My wife and I went there for the first time last weekend and we really enjoyed it. The food was excellent, the service was super, the drinks were very good and the overall experience was great. Part of what we love about it is that it is more of an "experience" than just eating out at a regular restaurant. It did take several hours from the time we got there until we were finished and this is part of what we enjoyed. You are not rushed as in many restaurants and the way this dining experience is set up, you don't want to rush through it. We did the four course meal and everything came out in a timely manner - not too slow but not rushed either. If you are a couple, I suggest you ask for a seat in "lovers lane", a private secluded area of the restaurant that makes your dining experience even more intimate. read more

I honetly don't get the hype. It must be the experience because the food is nothing above average for sure and it is rather pricy. Wait staff is great and friendly but $20 for raw chicken that you essentially boil in a rather "aromatic" concoction still comes out like boiled chicken. Went to this restaurant with 3 other friends and it was our first time. We did the 4 course meal and I have to say, it was fun but the waitress was horrible. She spilled salad dressing all over my friends $500 purse and didn't tell the manager. Apparently at Melting Pot, the manager always makes a round to your table to check on you or to bring you your check. So at the end of our meal, we had to get the manager and one of us told him what happened and he was completely unaware of what happened and let us know the waitress didn't tell him anything otherwise he would have stopped by sooner. If I ever go here again, it won't be with her as my server. But leaving her out, it was a good experience. read more

The food is the only positive. My apartment comes here every year to celebrate for the Christmas season. Every time we've been here before we come for cheese and chocolate and it's around 20 dollars for everyone. Tonight it was 91 dollars, which is ridiculous. My family loves this restaurant. It's fun for a special occasion. We always have such fun waiters and waitresses. The spinach and artichoke cheese is to die for. They have awesome gluten free options which my sister enjoys. The tip I would give to people is that the middle course isn't near as good as the cheese and chocolate. Amazing experience. I went here with my girlfriend for her birthday, we reserved our table in the "lovers lane" section and it was as romantic as advertised. The booth is private and separated from the rest of the place and is shaped in a small 'L' that way you and your lover can sit close together ;) I also had the option of having roses put on the table for her and she loved it. Got together with good friends for a birthday celebration and was very disappointing in the whole experience. My family has been to 2 other melting pot locations and had great experiences. There were 8 of us for dinner and you could tell it was going to be a long night when the waitress didn't come to the table for 10 minutes. (A drink on the way would have been nice) The waitress seamed to be overwhelmed, and missing in action. The bar tender did get us drinks from time to time. The table had very little room and we started placing empty glasses and plates on the floor so we could have room on the table. My boyfriend and I shared a four course meal, which was a HUGE portion of food for the both of us and for a great price under $100. I would recommend for a date night the atmosphere and booths are quiet and intimate, or just for dessert! I was shocked and dismayed by this place. My high hopes were dashed as soon as we walked in. It's dark and dingy with elevator music in the background. It has the same ambiance of a world war 2 era submarine. The staff were a bunch of condescending young guys with a chip on their shoulder. I went here a couple of months ago while visiting a friend in the area. We decided to do just the cheese and dessert courses...way cheaper than the full 4 course meal and I left full and satisfied. For the cheese, we got the spinach artichoke. Super yummy! I love that they give you a variety of dippers. For the chocolate, we just went for the classic dark...sometimes simple is best. The fruit and the poundcake were my favorite dippers as the other ones were a bit too sweet/rich for my taste. Next time, I think I would specifically request to substitute fruit. They seemed to be very accommodating in that department. And who doesn't love fruit slathered in chocolate? The only disappointing part of our meal was the drinks. My boyfriend and I visited this melting pot for our anniversary and had such a great experience! Our server, Marie, learned that it was our first time here, and she did an amazing job explaining the process to us. She kept checking back with us to make sure we had everything we needed, and always asked if we had any questions. We had made a reservation for 6 o'clock, but we called around 3 and were able to move up our reservation to 5 with no issue. We did the four course meal and finished it in about 2 hours and 15 minutes. It was such a great experience to be able to cook our own main course at the table, and the cheese and chocolate fondues were excellent! The salad was great as well! Marie did an amazing job with everything and kept the process moving so we were never sitting for long without food. The place overall is very fancy and nice. I feel it is a bit overpriced considering you have to cook everything yourself and the portions are small. Unfortunately for me, I have a shellfish and nut allergy and wasn't aware that 9 of the 10 entrees all had one of those foods along with the salads. I didn't like my drink or appetizer and didn't appreciate not thoroughly getting explained how to cook the food and the seasonings they used on the meat prior to giving it to us. Called in the morning of and asked about a special event for a engagement and even though they open at 5 he opened early just so I could have a beautiful candle light dinner with my girlfriend and now wife to be..... Overall about 2 hours from start to finish which is really nice because it allows you to enjoy vs just getting a huge plate dropped in your lap to eat at once. Our server Joel (Joe-el) was fantastic and really enhanced our experience. The only downside was the fact that the manager came to our table twice "hi, is there anything I can do for you". While we get they are trying to take care of the customers they need to understand that asking people is one of the worst practices in restaurants and it's very off putting.
