Food was fine, cheese was good, chocolate was great. 2 parties 2 pots/tables First party had basic cheddar cheese and yinyang chocolate Their cheese was so much more volume they couldn't use it all. Same with chocolate Our Wisconsin trio was really really good but much less volume. Same with the pure dark chocolate- super super good but tiny volume. Staff worked hard to make it a good deal for 4 adults and 4 middle school kids. The THREE hours was nuts. My kids are very patient but by the end they were done and wanted to go home. Surprised by SO with an anniversary dinner here and we loved it. This isn't like one of those prex fixed dinners where you only get a bite for each course. If you get the dinner for 2, you will be STUFFED. We sat in a small booth, and although the neighboring tables were close to each other, the booths were arranged in a way so that it wasn't loud and you could hold a conversation comfortably. Our waiter was Trevor, it was his first night and he did great. This was our first melting pot experience so excuse me if I am a bit naive about it. I greatly enjoyed the cheese fondue (get the charcuterie board, you won't regret it) and the dessert, we got the Flaming Turtle. First things first, if I could have their dessert course everyday and not gain weight I would be in heaven!!!!!! The food was really good, and you can't really complain because at the end of it, you are the chef. The cheese course was alright, but I'm not dwelling on it because I personally don't care much for cheese. We have tried Melting Pots in multiple states, but this one remains our favorite. We had a call the day before to confirm our details and they added us to their "lovers lane" set of booths. These are tucked into nooks with much more privacy. We were seated right at our reservation time with Deron as our waiter. He truly is an asset to the MP. All of the many online reviews of him are not fake or hype. He truly is outstanding. We chose the bigger night out 4 course that came with lobster. Everything was delicious, but I would skip the lobster in the future. We had the traditional cheese, California salads (always a fave), and the flaming turtle chocolate. The chocolate was runnier than usual so that was the only slightly negative about this trip. A great visit and the 2 hours we spent flew by. No alcohol and the upgraded meal plus tip was $200. Service was good because they helped accommodate my friends allergies but I suggest calling in advanced. Didn't like the lighting in the restaurant it was too dark to see anything and the instructions on cooking the meat and timer over the phone is quite complicated but still a fun activity to do with a friend or date. read more

This is a great little spot for a unique and different dining experience. We have been here a few times in the past and have enjoyed each visit. I would not recommend coming here if you plan on quick dining. The food does take sometime to prepare which gives you time to enjoy your company. Once your food is prepare and ready let the cooking continue. You would find yourself diving in (hopefully not into the hot pot) quickly throwing in your kabobs one right after another. read more

We have dined at other Melting Pot locations before but it had been a few years since our last visit to one. My wife and I were visiting Myrtle Beach for the first time and knowing there was a MP decided to make a reservation to celebrate my birthday. I booked on OpenTable about a few weeks ahead of our visit and got a call a few days later from a manager to confirm the reservation and ask if we were celebrating any special occasion. I mentioned it was my Birthday and he said he would put us at a better table. Apparently if you book Online you are automatically placed at one set of tables. Maybe only some of their tables are set aside for online? In any event, it might be best to call them directly to make a reservation although in all likelihood they will call you. When booking online I had to choose 5:45pm or earlier or after 8pm. Since it is a longer dining experience I chose 5:45. I was expecting the place to be packed by 7pm but it wasn't. I would always allow at least two hours for any meal at the Melting Pot. One thing that seems to have changed is that the dinner choices all include the cheese course instead of being able to choose everything a-la carte. My wife usually avoids dairy and in the past when we have gotten the cheese and it was just the two of us, it was way too filling. Our server said that she could give us extra portions for the dessert course in lieu of the cheese course. Works for us. We also like that with the entrees, anything can be subbed out. We got a bottle of wine and the per bottle prices were not bad and their wine list had a number of good options. Service was excellent. If you are looking for a slower paced meal or a romantic dinner for two then the Melting Pot is a good choice. read more

Returning from the WORST dinner experience ever, I called the Melting Pot to make reservations for tmrw, but they were full at every time that worked for us. The manager heard the disappointment in my voice and even though they were closed for the night, she arranged for us to be served dessert on a rose bedecked table. An exceptional (though exceptionally expensive) meal. My wife and I have been to other Melting Pots over the years for special occasions but this was the first time we'd gone with the kids. Everything was great, as usual. We did the dinner for two (x 2) and the cheese and chocolate were particular favorites, as always. And our server was attentive and helpful. A reservation was required which took a couple of days to get but worked out well. Overall an awesome experience and highly recommended. Food was pretty good except for the first course that was slightly warm and not cooked properly before it reached our table. (you do cook your own food) Service was not so good. Sometimes pleasant most of the time not so pleasant. She didn't want to discuss the food options and we had to ask other servers for drinks after she had already taken 10 minutes to bring out the first ones. Management wasn't good either. We saw a special online and only went there for it but the manager didn't want to give the price that was advertised and basically said "too bad". This place is just awesome! Husband and I had a night with no kids so we decided to take advantage and come here, it had been years since we went to one in New England. Called a couple hours before and they had a good time available, which was great. We walk in, seated immediately and we had Rhiannon as our server. She went through everything thoroughly, it really is an experience. She was so helpful, so knowledgeable, we were quite impressed. My husband asked her about the training because it was so much information and while having this conversation, we learned we were her first table, SHOCKED! This girl was like a seasoned vet, I could not believe how good she was. She was a natural people person, absolutely wonderful service. I would leave a zero star review if possible. My wife and I have been to more than a dozen different melting pots up and down the east coast, when I say this is THE worst location I surely have causes that correlate to prove our point. First off, the manager who has been the manager since they have opened claimed that he had zero control on the operating hours that were posted on google, apple maps, yelp, and open table. When we had attempted to visit the myrtle beach location, the door was open and we walked in to no lights, no persons working from the front door to the back door. When the manager was informed his quote was "thank you for not stealing anything" and finished with "i can assure you i was here" an oxymoron at best. Any man who doesn't have control of his establishment or even have the IQ to change the hours on the website ONLY he has access to, should be avoided. read more

I was looking forward to a special dinner here for my birthday, but that didn't happen. My fiancé initially made a reservation for my actual birthday, but the restaurant called to tell him they would be closing on Mondays for a few weeks and we would have to reschedule our reservation. When we rescheduled for the day before my birthday, they assured us they'd do something special for us (his original reservation included a celebration package with a decorated table, etc.). When we arrived, they walked us past a decorated table to one that was probably the noisiest in the restaurant -- it was on a corner where waiters were yelling "corner" to alert other staff that may be carrying trays. Our server was overloaded with tables -- he had 5 when we arrived -- so our dinner ended up being about 3 hours long. The pot for our main course boiled at our table for at least 10 min before the meats arrived and our dessert had to be remade. The staff eventually brought over a birthday card that was pretty obviously written in a rush. The food was great, but the experience left us really disappointed. Don't forget that the entrance bar is a great place to start your evening or have your meal if you desire. We met the owner tonight and had a great conversation stemming from family heirlooms on the wall opposite the bar. He is very present in overseeing that his business is running well, and it showed as this Melting Pot is a consistently great experience. Ana our waitress was energetic and happy to let us know all about the options for dining. She helped us narrow the field of choices when I got overwhelmed with so many great choices. She has been working there for 6 years and was there when we needed her and not constantly interupting our night out together. We created our own meal and each chose three items for main meal which allowed for myself to choose vegetarian options like ginger marninated tofu and portabella mushrooms while my husband enjoyed his beef and pork. I mentioned to the general manager (he stopped by our table to say hello) that more vegetarian options would be a good idea as two included cheese of the 5 options. He was very receptive and thanked me for the observation. Then he said that he would take that up the chain. An Easy Uber or Lyft ride away for a responsible way to imbide.
