From the ambiance, to the food, to the staff, I am a fan of The Mercury. It's a great place to have dinner with friends or to celebrate a special occasion. It's also a great place to grab a drink at the bar and chillax. Located in strip mall, this appears to be a very small space but there is more to it than meets the eye. Upon entering, there is bar/lounge area to the right which is a perfect area to hangout by itself. They have a fully stocked bar with some amazing bartenders, so sip up. The main seating area for the restaurant is to the left of the entrance and with tables/chairs and booths along one side. Beyond the booths is a large room that can be reserved for private events. The few times I've been here have al been for dinner and the ambiance has always been perfect for the occasion. There is low lighting along with some jazz fusion playing in the background. The music is just loud enough to hear but not so loud that it prevents one from having a conversation. I have never been disappointed with the food. On each visit I have gone in prepared to trying something different and I always end up ordering a steak. That is because they serve some very nice cuts and they do a great job with the preparation as my steaks are always cooked to the desired temperature. They also have some tasty sides which are large enough to share. On my most recent visit I got chance to try the Sashimi of Yellow Tail appetizer from their sushi restaurant which is connected next door. This was fresh and tasty. I'm looking forward to spending some time in their sushi restaurant (Sushi at The Mercury). From the host/hostess to the servers, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The servers are very knowledgeable of the menu, any specials being offered and have made some great recommendations for both food and drink (wine pairings). They check in just frequently enough which ensures you're never in need of a beverage refill. Lastly, parking is relatively easy at The Mercury; because it's in a strip mall there is plenty of self-park space. They also have complimentary valet parking. First time dining here we were celebrating a birthday. I love dining in dark clubby quiet atmosphere so this fit the bill. The menu isn't standard fare its creative. We dined on: sliders caviar egg * awesome! bibb salad with crab sashimi tuna filets * as good as any prime steakhouse, maybe better as so many toppings and sauces to add. lamb shank brussel sprouts * just ok mac and cheese * amazing best ever! desserts incredible chocolate lava cake w/ choice of chocolate sauce or butterscotch inside we ordered butterscotch.....WOW! coconut cake w/ salted Carmel....the was was incredibly moist, just awesome! of everything my personal favorites were the caviar egg, filet (which I hardly ever order), Mac and cheese and both desserts. if you haven't dined there, you must go! read more

Four stars is an accurate average for this place. We intended to sit in the sushi area but when we walked in on a Thursday they indicated there was no seating. They did not mention a wait time and suggested we could sit in another part of the restaurant - I asked is the menu the same? They said yes... it was not. Totally different menu, not sushi. We were able to at least get a Yellowtail sashimi appetizer. Extremely expensive. The server was charming and attentive. After eating a ton of heavy meals that week I opted for the mushroom risotto. It was very good but $36 which seems high for a vegetarian dish. I got a blood orange Aperol spritz which was refreshing. The Cuban was very strong but not my type of drink. The lava cake came with ice cream and fruit but was pretty OK, not great. 3 people with and app and 5 drinks between us was $230ish plus tip. read more

First time here and I will be back for sure. Took my mother in law here for Mother's Day. When I booked did not know a buffet. I don't usually like them but this was impressive and worth it. The food was kept fresh and hot. They had amazing oysters in the half shell. The food selection great. Too much to try! If the food was this great on a buffet I am sure even better as meal. Our waiter was great he spoke Spanish which really helped my mom. All the staff was friendly and attentive. The place was great. We were in the back room which was nice as quieter. The waiter offered to cut my sons steak . I go to 5 star restaurants and never had a waiter ask to cut my sons steak , it was the most amazing thing to ever happen at a restaurant. My heart melted . The Turkish man waiter made my day and for this reason I will come back just because of him. The steak is almost as good as Knife Dallas . We booked this place for Thanksgiving. Arrived on time. No tables, HUGE line. No one at the door to help guests. My husband (well dressed) was repeatedly mistaken for the maitre'd and people were expecting him to open the door for them! He did this for 2 different people in walkers because no one else was helping . It was overbooked to the point of fire danger. Buffet set up somewhere in the back and guests had to fight through the crowd to balance their plate to return to their table. What a spectacular dinner at The Mercury! It was a recommendation from a friend and I was warned not to judge the strip mall location. I walked into a dark, modern steakhouse vibe where A great looking crowd matched the exotic cars parked outside. Our waiter was prompt and knowledgeable and the high end tequila was flowing. One of my colleagues tried the fois gras, which was delicate and perfectly prepared but my appetizer was the caviar egg and without question, it was one of the most memorable bites of food in recent memory! Salty and rich caviar on top of a soft boiled egg, it was deliciously presented and I'm obviously still thinking about it! There are all sorts of steaks and I'll just say that I finished every bite of my rib eye. It was a business dinner so I went for dessert also and the coconut cake was the perfect after dinner taste as was the soufflé. Great place for a work dinner but know if you sit in the front dining area it will be loud. They do have a small back area in the front that can be curtained off and hold up to about 8 but part of that is a booth so if someone's going to have to move if a bathroom is needed. There's also two other more quieter rooms you could ask to be seated in if you want to have a conversation. This place is on the higher end price point. Service was good. Cocktails are around $20 and wine depends but the one my server selected for me was $20. Entrees around $40 +. Salads around $18. You can view the regular menu online. They also have off-menu items and prices aren't offered unless you ask. It was a work dinner but I couldn't bring myself to order the crab legs @ $100 /lb. My table guests ordered wagu as an appetizer and that was $130. They enjoyed it. Wagu isn't my thing so I'm not a fair judge. My favorite (and only dessert I can get bc I'm gf / df) is the sorbet and they're so good here. Usually have several flavors. When we went they had 5 flavors and my table guests indulged me we ordered all 5 (passion fruit, coconut, mango, strawberry and raspberry). Felt like kids in an ice cream shop. We got the crispy salmon I wouldn't say it was the greatest could have tasted better it was bedded on top of garnish which were well cooked but the protein could have been better for the price. We also got Mac n cheese on the side the taste was bland it could have been more creamy and cheesy..for being freshly made the cheese was just hard overall I'm not sure about this place or if I would go again for the price paid we were left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed being our first time there I just expected to have a better experience unfortunately that wasn't the case. Besides that the drinks were great and as well as the service was amazing (I think those two things were the highlight of the night) oh forgot about the dessert it was a chocolate soufflé and that was warm and delicious definitely would recommend that. This review is not related to the food but rather Abdul, one of their waiters. I brought clients to lunch today. He found out that I was the lunch host. He whispered to me would I like appetizers for the table, perhaps lobster tacos and yellowtail sashimi, I said sure. I was unaware of the cost of this answer. So, shame on me for not stopping the conversation with my clients to say how will that cost? I thought that this would add $80 to the tab. Imagine my surprise when the bill was presented for six of us... $359...for lunch before tip. He decided it would be $26 per lobster taco and ordered three orders of sashimi. This was way too much food. That was before we had ordered our entrees. I feel really used and could not react because I was sitting there with my clients. They remember your name and what you drink. Old school. The crispy chicken and the sea bass are our our favorite bites. I've been here a few times which usually after 2-3 visits calls for a review. I heard they have really amazing sushi so I decided to go by and try it for myself. I sit at the bar as usual and I order champagne as usual but one time I did try saki cold which I never had it and it was really good. Will do it again for sure. I always get the yellowtail Jalepeno sashimi and yummy yummy. I've tried most of the specialty rolls too which I think are also fresh and delicious. They also have other things on the menu of course for those that don't love sushi. There's a grilled chicken on there to die for. I can't recall name of the dish but it comes with mashed potatoes on the side. I've seen lots of appetizers come out but I'm kinda loving my sushi and champagne when I go. The manager is always nice and so are the bartenders. Eder-Adam has always waited on me and he pretty much knows what I like. This is also a cool place just to go hang out in their lounge. They bring out small dishes of well all I know is it's good too. The chips are yummy. This is a good waiting area, it's not really big so if u want to eat right away I would suggest you make a reservation. It is on the pricey side but I think it's worth the $. They do have some happy hour specials on certain days of the week with like your typical sushi. Now we have to chose between 'trying out a new place' or going to The Mercury, and more often than not we wish we would have just gone back here, its so delicious! I also ordered a gluten free chocolate cake (Something I almost never do, because I am not gluten intolerant and 9 times out of 10 GF taste horrible to me) and I could not get enough. I heard wonderful things about The Mercury from my beau and was delighted when he chose this restaurant for date night. We started the evening with two ice cold (and very large) Manhattans and our server Michael thoughtfully poured our drink into a second chilled martini glass to make sure that we enjoyed every last drop of our drinks. We had wonderful seats in the restaurant, allowing us to enjoy the ambience along with our delicious meal. Really disappointed in our meal tonight. Waitress was Excellent but she could not make up for the lackluster meal. Shrimp cocktail was the best part of our meal - My date's duck was pretty good but the risotto was way overcooked and quite bland. The Brussel sprouts were under cooked and impossible to eat. Our creme brûlée was very average. We even came in early so the chef was not stressed or overly tired. Not sure why it was so mediocre... because we have heard so many good things. This was the first time I went to the Mercury, but came with someone that had highly recommended it. The service as well as the food were excellent. We had for appetizer Pan Seared Shrimp, it was delicious. All our entrees were good, but if I was to highlight our favorites, they would be the Steak Diane (I will order this when I go back) and their macaroni and cheese ( so good!). Another favorite of the table was the Chicken fried Fillet. Two people ordered it at our table and both really liked it. The desserts were also very good, but if you like chocolate, I recommend the Chocolate Fantasmagoria. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Very nice lunch today. Very tasty fish sandwich and string onion rings. Onion rings were nicely salted. Also enjoyed the pecan crusted trout, Though I really didn't discern much pecan which was actually OK from my taste perspective. Fish was served with a spicy sauce not listed as part of the dish. This place is a tried and true place that we always like to return to when have a fun, adult evening with our dear friends. The food is always on point and the ambiance is very mature and fun. We started with the DELICIOUS foie gras as an appetizer. My girlfriend and I split the special King Crab legs, the guys ordered steaks, one a filet another a rib eye.
