We were in the neighborhood and looking for brunch - The Mercury popped up and the brunch menu said *new* on the web site so off we went. The menu was extensive and had options for every type of palate. There were very few people there so we wondered how new the brunch is - turns out 3-4 months in, but maybe still a secret? Our server was great and very attentive. Each table gets free donut holes dusted in cinnamon sugar. The 3 of us shared 3 apps: the butcher meatballs with peppercorn sauce, the yellowtail sashimi, and the chilled jumbo lump crabmeat tacos with yuzu guacamole. Everything was delicious! I was very surprised at how flavorful and moist the meatballs were. I liked all of the apps. The tacos were awesome and the shredded daikon with them was yummy too. For the main course, I got the miso black cod with bok choy and asparagus. It was perfect because I had other apps but it did look unfinished without rice (or any starch I guess, but rice makes the most sense). It was very delicious and cooked perfectly. Eric R. ordered the carnitas which came with beans, pickled onions, and tortillas. His uncle got an egg white omelette which was very small and came with fruit including compressed watermelon and berries as well as hash browns. He also ordered blueberry pancakes for the table, which he and Eric R. shared. Overall, service was great - there are bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, and other drinks. Came here the other night while visiting my cousin in Texas. He comes here all the time so he brought my friend and I since it's one of his favorite spots. I can see why it is! This restaurant has a cool atmosphere, I like how you can see in the kitchen. The food was awesome. We had the gnocchi as an appetizer, it's my cousin's favorite thing on the menu and I can definitely agree it was awesome! I had the halibut for my entree and it was perfectly cooked. It's such a nice dining room and my friend loved her grilled fish tacos. I had their Cobb w chicken and wasn't particularly happy with it. To be fair, the waiter did an adequate, though not great job explaining "their style of Cobb". He said it was different and kind of like a burger. What he failed to tell me was that they throw all the salad fixings in a food processor, buzz it, then pile it real pretty on a plate and top it with chicken. The chicken was delicious and the first few bites of said salad was interesting and tasty. My challenge was in eating an entire meal of something goopy when I was expecting lettuce. I only ate half. If you're a traditional Cobb love as I am, this may not be the salad for you. read more

The Chef had stated that our previous visit was the perfect storm of everything going wrong. Last night seemed to be the perfect storm of things going right. The service was spectacular. The waiter was attentive and the water server never let our glasses get less than 1/2 full. We spent a lot of time watching how other patrons were treated. The attentive service was provided to everyone around us. Now to the food. In one word it was....spectacular. My favorite dish there is still the Black Cod. I will go back when you can order off the menu, but not for a buffet. Too many great steak houses in FW to eat at this MicoCina sun-par place. I spent $275 for 2 and I thought all the dishes were bad. Our server, Mike, was the bomb. But my Allen's Bros steak was under cooked, sides of au gratin potatoes and spinach were 'okay' - but my date loved the lamb chops. I'm sure my dog will love my $55 steak!! My reason for four stars rather than five is because I felt the salad serving was very small for $17.00 and the wine was very pricy as well. The Mercury a very cool place. They have great apps and sushi and dessert. We all got drinks and were pleased, they were strong and tasty, definitely worth the money. We sat in the sushi side and it was FREEZING COLD! The waiter said they keep that area cold because of the fish. This doesn't fully make sense to me only because I've been to several sushi bars and haven't felt like I was in an ice cave. All that to say, bring a jacket if you intend to sit on that side. I cannot remember the different sushi rolls we got, but I know they were all really tasty and good quality. I've posted some pictures, so feel free to show them to the waiter and hopefully they can help you play sushi roulette. The spinach dip was really good! It doesn't come with bread or chips, soooooo we ate like with fries. #cheatmeal #judgeus. The edamame was also really good. In all honesty, EVERYTHING was to my satisfaction. Last and myself here for a birthday dinner. Lady wanted sushi and I wanted steak so this was a good idea. Overall, pretty good experience with some minor setbacks. 1. For apps, we got the couscous. It was very delicious. I thought the portion was nice. Great texture and flavor. The poach egg really added some nice flavor too. Would recommend to at least try. 2. We got the 24 oz Porterhouse. We asked for it to be rare. Steak was good, but it was a little over cooked at different part. It was not evenly cooked. There were rare, medium rare, medium and medium well. The rare portion was very flavorful. Overall, still a good cut. Overall, pretty good fusion place. Great atmosphere for a date or family dinners. I would like to start by saying I've worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years and this is my first negative review on yelp. Bottom line: food and service were good. We came for a half priced sushi roll special that was listed on their website. When the bill was dropped it was not discounted. We inquired about the special. The server seemed unsure if it was still valid. We showed her the website. She went to ask the manager. When she returned with the bill only one item was discounted, when almost every item we ordered was on the discounted list. We showed her. She took it back. We waited. No manager came by. Nearly half an hour after the first check was dropped she came back for a 3rd time. The check was still wrong. The manager still never came by. We just paid the bill. I caught the manager on the way out and explained the situation. He was extremely rude making excuses and even throwing his server under the bus. I will not return to this restaurant as long as this man is in charge. It really rubbed me the wrong way because of how he treated not only his customers but his staff. This man is very cowardly and the worst restaurant manager I've ever encountered as either a patron or a colleague. Disgraceful. read more

This place is great. They have always been very responsive when we dine here. They are friendly and fast without compromising service. Their menu is expensive with a little bit of everything to ensure they target your wants. We went here for lunch and love their great burger menu. They have about 7 different varieties and among them is included a fish sandwich. Burgers are cooked to order, of course, therefore extra time might be needed. They have a large room in which you are able to hold large business meetings, as well. Free lunch valet parking is always a plus. read more

Best New Years dinner ever! Service was pretty good and the food was amazing! The foie gras was the best I've ever had. For my meal, I had the veal milanaise. It was perfect! There were 5 of us and all of our meals were perfect. For dessert, we had the key lime pie, grand marnier soufflé, the chocolate soufflé and the chocolate fantasmagoria. They were all equally yummy. The only "complaint" I had was there was only 1 bathroom stall in the women's restroom. For such a large restaurant, I would think there would be more restrooms. We ended up walking into the actual,The Mercury, restaurant. We were greeted promptly and the ambiance was very relaxed and fancy. Our waiter Taner recommended the Yellowtail nigiri as an appetizer. It was amazing on the pallet. Taner also recommended the Black Cod. I ordered it with a Pinot Grigio to Pair. The Cod was out of this world good!! My wife ordered some sushi that was very fresh; she usually complains about food at restaurants but she had nothing but good things to say. But I will begin in the bar area - such pleasant & attentive servers & I love the choice between the high tables or comfy arm chairs. Our server answered our questions politely, kept my water filled and presented our check promptly when we decided we wanted to move to the dining room. Our server in the dining room was not as attentive, even though they were not yet facing a dinner rush. He was polite and professional. My friend ordered the tuna mignon, which looked delicious. I had the duck. It was not special or memorable. I ordered a house salad which was delicious! The ambiance in this restaurant is so relaxed and polished, I will definitely come back to try another dish that I hope will impress me more. I had my SMU college graduation here in 2020. This restaurant has been the gateway to most of my positive memories in Dallas. The staff is incredibly friendly and truly willing to go above and beyond for their patrons. Recently, I had the greatest pleasure of sitting at the bar where Monica was the bartender and our server... not only was the bar packed, and Monica handled every request with ease and compassion, she adjusted the television channel for me when I asked. Came here for brunch on a Sunday with a party of 20 including children. Instead of bread, they serve complimentary donut holes. The brunch menu is different from other restaurants. They have the regular eggs Benedict and omelettes but their veal cordon bleu and the cod was outstanding! I do not recommend the fried chicken skin appetizer. If you come for brunch, get the bottomless mimosas! $16 for unlimited mimosas compared to $8 for one glass. The service was great and attentive. None of us had to ask to get our waters refilled and the wait for the food wasn't long considering the amount of people we had. I was very satisfied with the service. Although they brought out 2 of the entrees wrong, they were quick to apologize and bring the right one out. There was also a mistake in the tab but that was quickly fixed as well. One complaint I have is that the restaurant is really dark. But I guess that's good for a more romantic, date-night ambience. I noticed they have a sushi bar.. Fun, good vibe. Great service. It feels a little scene-ish because it's crowded with money people, but I like a packed restaurant that can be crowded not just because it's the hot new restaurant, but because it's been good for a long time and has earned it. Had a grand marnier souffle: loved it. Also loved the creme brulee that I monopolized as well since my friend couldn't finish it. Had a thicker sugary crust than normal with some nice fruit atop. A little disappointed lately by my old standby, The Mercury. Recently, I came by to grab a drink in the bar area and had a martini literally sloshed all over the table as it was set down in front of me. No big deal, I get those are difficult, but the bartender just walked away with vodka all over my napkin and table. Maybe it was because my friend hadn't arrived yet and I was a brazen woman sitting alone in a bar? (I wish I was kidding here) I got up, went to the bar to get a few more napkins and mopped up the table on my own before I was wearing that vodka. A few weeks later I meet a different friend and we actually sit at the bar. Good grief. The bartender was borderline hostile to us while he fawned over the middle-aged Master of the Universe juggling 3 cells phones sitting next to us. More fawning on every other rich looking dude that sat down. Guess the fact we were was also paying for $17 martinis didn't count? And yet a couple of weeks later, I'm there grabbing a quick bite with a friend at a table in the bar. Great waiter this time; truly amazing. Friendly, conversational, all the good stuff. I made the mistake of asking if it would be OK if another friend joined us with her incredibly well behaved 10 and 13 year olds. These are kids who've grown up dining at Michelin starred restaurants....they know how to behave. He was kind enough to ask his manager and we were told "no". While I kind of understand this, it is a bar, but it's a tiny bar in a restaurant that is basically a neighborhood place located in an ugly strip shopping center. If you operate in the neighborhood you would think you would welcome your neighbors.
