I usually go to the Crab House on 55th Street for my crab legs fix. However, I stumbled upon this restaurant on TikTok. I went on 4/24/24. They open at 1 pm. I arrived from the Bronx, with two 8 year old children at 1:20ish. The front area was PACKED! I'm thinking, damn, they JUST opened! Anyway, the wait was about 10-15 minutes. We were seated in the back with a view of the front of the restaurant. The first thing that I noticed was that all of the servers seemed to be in a rush! They were scurrying about... That bothered me a bit.. Our server comes over and introduces herself. (forgot her name) She takes our order and scurried away. I look at my phone and it's 1:40. The folks right next to me sat down 5 minutes after I did and already had their snack! The servers are still scurrying about.. I started thinking, "Do I need to be Asian to get service?!!" So, I call the restaurant that I'm sitting right in the back of and tell the manager my plight. I wave my hand, and he comes over to the table. Problem solved! Apparently, I didn't need to be Asian! Ok, so now the food comes out! I ordered a shrimp cocktail, crab legs, scallops, and shrimp with corn(the boil), mac and cheese, wings, and fries. I don't really care for all of the butter/lemon typical boil seasoning. I find them too salty. So, I ordered the garlic butter on the side. I wish I had ordered it on the seafood! It was SOOO good!!! The crab legs and shrimp were a nice size, and scallops REALLY needed it!!! The shrimp for the cocktail were a nice size, although they were previously frozen. Pretty waterlogged.... The chicken wings were seasoned and fried nicely. The food usually comes in the big bags, but since the table ordered the same thing, it came in a metal sheet pan. There is the lunch special ($24.99), and the dinner special ($59.99) Lunch does not come with crab legs. The kids are half the price of the adults. Now, when you order the dinner buffet, the alcohol is only $1!!!! I think this is only Monday-Thursday. Either way, I'll take it!!! I will be back!!! Almost forgot, the msc and cheese never came out. There were a few other customers complaining about missed food. We were full, so it was ok. However, we should've been asked if we still wanted it. I came here for dinner on a Sunday night and it wasn't busy. As you walk in, someone would ask if you're here for a la carte or ayce. Then, another server would bring you inside to your table and set you up. The soft shell crab basket comes as two pieces, there was too much flour, so wasn't a big fan, but it's typical of deep-fried items. Both soups are your usual store bought soups, so don't expect anything. **Now...the oysters and clams tasted fresh....HOWEVER, I caught the stomach virus after and that was not a pleasant aftermath. The individual boils, we did not like the mussels nor the crayfish. The crayfish was falling apart as you pick it up. The texture was so rough, it was clearly not fresh. What we did like was the snow crab legs and Dungeness crab, and the shrimp and scallops were okay. Everything else, I would pass on. We tried the house blend, garlic butter and lemon pepper. My friend who had all said the lemon pepper was the best one. The ambiance here is what you would see at any cajun boil place, which pretty much is a cabin on a ship. Love the free parking, inside decor, space of the place and how it feels like I'm in a Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Some flaws that I've found on my first visit is mainly communication. They didn't explain how the menu works as they gave one for two people and we later found out it's to share. Didn't make sense as we wanted different flavors for their signature seafood in a bag offering and the menu did not have any space to indicate that. The shrimp with the garlic butter was good. I would recommend getting the peeled version unless you enjoy all that head removal craziness. All in all it's ok but the wait times for simple sides like a freaking boiled egg taking almost an hour just sucks. Also they lost my order. How does that happen?! Get your act together! read more

This is a chain seafood place which has locations in Carle place and Bayside. We went to Bayside. It is in a large shopping center so ample parking. It opens at 1:00 pm. We went in about 1:05 pm. They seated us right away. We decided on AYCE for $25 pp. If you ratio it out according to how many pieces they give you, the AYCE can be cheaper. We ordered fried oysters, flounder, shrimp, calamari, soft shell crab, crab ball, and onion rings. Since this isn't the season for seafood, most things were small. The crab ball was on the dry side. It was two people so it was $50. If ordered from the regular menu, it would have been $68. Service was attentive and quick. Decor was cute. It was good but I would try again in season to see if the seafood is larger. As with many AYCE, there is a time limit and you can't have left over food or you incur additional charges. read more

The staff here is really nice and it's a nice big space that would be able to accommodate a large party. The unlimited menu is super good and honestly a steal if you are a real seafood eater! The fried baskets are also super huge, my kids can usually just split one. The food for the most part is usually pretty fresh but the reason I took away one star is because some of the stuff taste questionable. My friend got sick from the raw oysters and the baby clams I got tasted off. Aside from that tho it was really good and I would come back again! This review is about the service, in particular the waitress "ALICE". Today was the 2nd time she served our table and both experiences were absolutely horrible. I didn't leave a bad review the first time due to the benefit of the doubt thinking that maybe she had a bad day, but today was exactly the same as the first time. She's very rude, inattentive, walked away multiple times while I was still talking to her. She completely ignored my partner the whole evening and walked by multiple times completely ignoring our table. Just wanted to add that everyone else was great since we had to ask for their help because it seemed like Alice was deliberately being rude.
