We ordered food online. The salmon sandwich was delicious and the montas / dumplings were also very flavorful! The salad was unfortunately not tasty in my opinion. I was expecting more vegetables as the photo shows cucumbers and greens but it did not contain anything other than the grain and some tomatoes and onions chopped in there. Might be helpful to title it as a bulgur or grain salad so it's more clear for someone ordering online. I would definitely order the montas again especially as appetizer for a party.

The montas here are delicious! We came around 3:30 on a weekday so it wasn't busy and we were able to eat at one of the little tables outside. The owner does everything on his own, so please be patient! We were planning on eating a few while they were fresh and then taking the rest back, but we ended up eating all of them there because they were so good! It was piping hot, the dough was crispy, and the filling and sauce were super flavorful. It was my first time having montas so I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were super good and not too heavy

Been wanting to come here for a while and try this Armenian food, so glad we tried it tonight, it was unique and delicious! Sarkis was welcoming and very helpful with recommendations on what to order. Menu is small and limited, as is seating, outdoor only three tables. It was a great night to have dinner outside and watch the world go by. Only street parking available. Would definitely come back and have this again!

Saved it in my collection to go too when in the area. Glad I did. Salmon sandwich was excellent. Better if eaten there but leftover was still good too. Had to get veggie monta because have not red meat since January 2026. Still excellent.

The place was a small little take out restaurant, a few tables outside to eat! The owner suggested a large platter for 3 people and good thing he did! It was the perfect amount. Each monta is handmade! The flavor was yummy and the mint was subtle. It was nice that the tomato sauce is on the side for takeout orders. The garlic yogurt was runny and not super raw garlic-y. It was a great dipping sauce. I loved being able to eat 25 dumplings and call that dinner!

It was my first time here and I wasn't disappointed! I heard about this place from my cousin who lives in The Bay because she sent me an Instagram reel. The owner was so nice and attentive, even though he was a one man show. There is only seating outside. Since it was the end of the day, he was out of the small tray of sini-monta, but my friend and I got the large. We got the spicy sauce and it was so tasty! Street parking was fairly easy. I can't wait to go back. Definitely want to try to su beoreg.

Wow! Amazing spot. Monta was next level delicious, packed with flavor and the yogurt sauce balanced out the rich flavors of the meat and tomato sauce . Beoreg was crispy on the outer layer and deliciously chewy inside. rich in cheese flavor . Fantastic will be back many many mor

Couldn't pronounce most items and decided to order a little bit of everything on the menu to try. manta with the works: little dumplings with sauce. The sauce was a bit watery. Not as flavorful as I thought it'd be but fun to try. Su beoreg: some kinda cheese pastry. It was cheesy and delicious Salmon sandwich: big portion and a healthy choice garlic cream soup: not too garlicky. But I loved the little dumplings that came with soup.

Small order of The Monta, their signature dish. Spicy tomato sauce and yoghurt dressing on top.

I was in the area and wanted to try something out of my usual ordinary. I tried the signature Monta and really enjoyed it. Each bite is a tasty combination of the yoghurt sauce and spicy tomato sauce over crisp-baked miniature dumplings with seasoned meat fillings.

Their traditional Armenian monta - absolutely delicious!!

I saw a photo of their main dish randomly on yelp and was so intrigued I just had to check them out...I'd never seen it or heard of it - it's their traditional Armenian Monta (sini monti) - luscious , homemade little pockets of pure delight! What a gem!! The ratings are totally justified - the food is unique, absolutely delicious, and it's owned and run by a sweet, lovely family. I ordered a small tray of the Monta and also two pieces of their other signature dish, the Su-Beoreg which was also fantastic! So the monta consists of these bite sized little boats of soft dough filled with ground beef and steamed or baked. It's covered in herbs and served smothered with a light tomato sauce that is then topped with a creamy garlic sauce. There's also an option of a side of hot sauce. The flavor combination of the all the sauces takes the dish to the next level - it's truly fantastic- complex and savory. The hot sauce is pretty spicy but has such a nice flavor to it that I just couldn't resist using a little bit with each bite and the creamy garlic sauce helps cool it down - flawless combo! The Su-beoreg is a light pastry made of a phyllo-like dough, layered with cheese, and baked - oh I'm a huge fan of this as well! I even dipped it in some of the Monta sauces and it was brilliant. Portions are pretty large - our small tray of Monta and two pieces of Su-beoreg filled up my hubby and me easily. And for the homemade quality and level of deliciousness, prices are very reasonable. Parking is all street parking but pretty easy to find a spot. The shop is very small - there's no inside seating and only a few tables outside so it's more of a to-go place. Service is excellent too - I chatted to the son of the family while my monta cooked and he is SO nice!! Just a lovely person and we will definitely be back. I get my water bottles filled every week just down the street so I'll most likely be getting lunch here weekly as well haha!!

Spreading some extra Yelp love for #ThankYouThursday for this wonderful small business that has the most delicious food!! I finally had a chance to try this place after having it bookmarked for a while and WOW this place is definitely deserving of the high reviews it has. I've never tried Armenian food before but the food here makes me want to try more. My husband and I ordered the large monta plate to share and this was soooo delicious and unlike anything I've ever tried before. I'd best describe a monta as an open faced dumpling with middle eastern flavors. The montas were super seasoned and saucy but all the flavors worked so well together. The store itself is super small and only has a small table inside and a couple small tables outside to sit at, so I think most people would probably pick something up for takeout here. We decided to eat there and the service was super friendly and the person there checked up on us every so often and offered us extra sauce, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd highly recommend trying this place and will definitely be back!

This was my first time trying Monta. These are seasoned meatballs surrounded by pasty resting in a thin sauce and topped with tangy yogurt. It felt like I was selfishly eating all the appetizers someone special brought to a party! They were really good. The tray of bite sized balls looks large when you get it but I finished it no problem. If you haven't tried Monta it seems like this is place to do it.

Dear Monta Factory, Thank you for existing. You make the yummiest small montas that bring the biggest joy in my belly. Small but cozy ambiance.

We heard good things about Sahara and decided to check it out yesterday; and it exceeded expectations. I had the beef kebab plate, while my mom and brother had the chicken kebab plate. We loved how they had complimentary snacks (olives, cheese, and cucumber) and also that the plate came with either soup or salad. The meat dishes were so flavorful and honestly the best we've had at any restaurant. They gave a lot of meat too; 8 pieces each dish. The baba ghanoush was also great. My first impression was how friendly everyone is, both employees and customers. I also noticed the aroma of mesquite smoke, which is a principle difference between their food and many others that use gas grills. The wonderful lady at the counter welcomed me and suggested the split kabob plate with half each beef and chicken. She also gave me the lunch and dinner menus to peruse. I grabbed a table and didn't wait long before my order was ready. Lots of rice pilaf, hummus, and tabouli. Additionally, there was a portion of garlic sauce. The portion of meat was equally impressive. I was still afflicted with recent dental work so I had to eat slowly and carefully. Their food is very crushable if not for that. They also quarter the pita bread which allows easier dipping or making mini wraps. Anyhow, I'm sure I'll be back sooner than later to try the Lula (aka koubideh), lamb, and other unique house specials. The essence of wood smoke is especially good, so that's a high mark. 4.5 overall My only criticisms are the rice could have been warmer, and the sauce more garlicky.

You order at the counter. I usually end up getting one of the breakfast meals - and all of them have managed to be both flavorful and fresh - in many ways the opposite of the typical American breakfast. The "bowl of foul", which apparently rhymes if you pronounce foul the Armenian way, is something they advertise a lot on their menu - and for good reason. It's actually one of the least foul breakfasts I've ever had in my life. It's a delicious flavorful bean dip with generous breads on the side to eat with it - as well as a platter of fresh vegetables. Still my favorite food to get here. Also decent was their fatteh, which is cream, yogurt, chickpeas, and a lot of assorted nuts, all dolloped over fried pita bread. Also very good, but I'm just honestly not a huge fan of nuts. It also comes with the vegetable platter which is the perfect combo with the creamy chickpea thing. The food usually takes 10-15 minutes to come out, but that's because they're clearly preparing everything fresh in the back (you can kind of see them do this.) They also have a fountain machine, which is a huge plus to ice addicts like me. Everything is casual, but also very clean and neat. Honestly, it's also a very nice cafe to relax in, do work, talk with friends, etc. etc. This is very much close to the "optimal" place to me when it comes to taking friends out somewhere to reconnect. Anyways, this place is highly recommended for both a wonderful dine-in and dine-out experience. I try to stop by it as often as possible for their breakfast to the point where I can count on my fingers the amount of times I've had breakfast at a place that WASN'T the Old Sassoon Bakery. Honestly, this place stands as a towering achievement of mastering everything that "new hip trendy" food often isn't. It's super affordable, generous portions, super clean, fast service (but you can stay around as long as you want), and the main draw is just the delicious, flavorful, authentic food that very much lives up to all of the hype and more.

The Lahmajoun is tasty with mix of Tomato paste, ground beef, garlic, and parsley on thin lavash-style flatbread that's folded over and crispy. The Aleppo Pepper, paprika, and cumin elevate the taste, and it's just delicious. The Kachapuri is pretty good, but I do feel it's missing something I've had before, this extra savoriness. It's still good, especially if you love goat cheese. If anything though, it's more salty than savory. All in all a pretty darn good experience with generous portions and I do want to come to try their Shakshouka.

The restaurant is small and charming, with beautiful pictures of Pasadena decorating the walls. The owner is incredibly kind and always offers water to his customers. He greets everyone with a warm smile, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. I highly recommend this charming little restaurant. Be sure to stop by and support this wonderful small business!

This place is a REAL WINNER!…read more My son brought me here today for lunch. Wasn't sure that I was in the mood for Mediterranean but I agreed to go. So glad I decided to have lunch there! The food is absolutely delicious, the portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable and the guy who took our order was so kind and helpful. I couldn't believe how flavorful everything was! I got the chicken Shawarma and now I won't go anywhere else for Mediterranean. I live in Glendale so I've got a lot of Mediterranean restaurants around me; I've been to a handful of them. But none of them comes close to how delicious this place was. Thank you! You are now my go to Mediterranean restaurant.

They're family owned and operated and had a bunch of yummy sounding options. I got their falafel, dolmas, cheese and meat boreg, chicken shawarma wrap, filet mignon and chicken thigh combo plate, and baklava to try. This was my first time ever trying falafels, dolmas, and boregs and wow. The falafel had a Fun crunchy outside with a crumbly yet not dry inside and full of aromatic flavors. The dolmas were really good too. Moist and herby. The boregs kinda reminded me of empanadas in both flavors and textures from the crisp fried outer pastry to savory fillings. The chicken shawarma wrap was stuffed with tender marinated chicken, fries, a bit of tomato and pepper and schmearing of creamy garlicy spread, and came with a side of refreshing cucumber yogurt salad. The best part was when that pita soaked up all the other juices of the chicken to make it even more flavorful. The meats in the combo plate had a nice char, were super savory, flavorful, well seasoned but were a bit overcooked and dry. But that's ok cuz that's where the super flavorful dips came in. There was the refreshing cucumber salad, smooth creamy nutty hummus, and pungent garlicy sauce that paired perfectly with everything. It also came with rice, an herby bright tabouleh salad, pickled turnips and crunchy fresh onions. The baklava was MASSIVE and was a bit dry and hard but had plenty of crisp pastry layers, crunchy nuts, was amazingly sweet and cinnamony. Overall this place is pretty good. Boreg $14 Falafel $8 Dolma $7 Chicken shawarma wrap $17 Combo beef filet and chicken thigh $28 Baklava $4

Was craving a good sandwich in the Pasadena area and found this place on Yelp. Good reviews so decided to try it. Sorry but sorely disappointed. Got two things: Garlic chicken sandwich and Beef Lule wrap. Garlic chicken sandwich was pretty good. There was a decent amount of the garlic sauce which made it tasty. But after a while the garlic after taste becomes too much. If you try this place this is the sandwich to get. In Yelp photos there are a lot of this sandwich so it's popular. We shred this one so after only half the sandwich, I felt it was enough garlic taste. The other item we got was a Beef Lule wrap. It was pretty messy and the pita bread was incredibly soggy and fell apart. I just don't have wraps come out like that. The meat was ok but the whole thing was dry. It was made like a sandwich but in a wrap and it just didn't work for me. It seems like it needs Tzatziki sauce or something. I just thought it could have been a much better wrap. You need to keep it in the wrapper because it just falls apart. I don't recommend this thing. Stick with the popular items towards the top of the list on the menu.

It is easy to find located across the street from Pasadena City college. The large awning outside the building announces the entrance to the restaurant. Once you enter you find an area with dining tables and a counter area. I was given a menu, and directed to a table to contemplate my order. The menu has a lot of great items. There were quite a number of unusual items and I had no idea what type of food or flavor to expect. When the waitress returned, I was able to ask her questions about what I should order. She had great suggestions that would give me a best example of their unique food and flavors. I decided on one Chicken Kabob and one Chicken Koobideh. Each of them came with a choice of soup or salad. I chose one of each. Barley soup with the chicken and Greek salad for the beef. It took about 20 minutes or so to get my meal to go. They had a number of occupied tables. When I got home I carefully unpacked what I had ordered. I was eager to try everything at once, but decided to start with the soup. Barley soup was filled with barley and had great flavor. I decided to add a little bit of kick by dropping in some hot sauce. The side salad was impressive. Fresh greens, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, and cucumbers. A little squeeze of lemon with all it needed. No extra dressing needed. Both the chicken and beef skewers had a great grilled aroma and were delicious. They held their shape even without actual skewers. They both tasted just as good cold the next day as they did warm when I first got them home. There was an abundance of rice included since this was a dinner order. It also had great flavor. It was fresh and had great seasoning. A bunch of condiments were included in a separate bag for all the items. I look forward to coming back and trying a number of the other items on their unique menu.

So my friend and I went this past weekend, I had been boasting to her about how good the food was,…read moreblah blah, blah for quite some time and we needed to come eat here. Come to find out the food is now actually blah blah blah! The cold super thin pita bread was cold & flavorless and oddly comes with a cold cube of butter, what the heck am I supposed to do with that? It won't melt on a cold piece of pita bread. Then the iceberg salad comes out with two small dressing containers to use; this salad had a lot of "bones" [what the hard white parts of lettuce are called]. At least the cucumbers were crunchy, as well as the 2 pieces of tomatoes. I ordered the Koobideh Combo [Beef & Chicken]; and my friend ordered the Chicken Kabob [white meat]. The lacking of flavor in the Koobideh beef & chicken was unbelievable, I asked for a grilled serrano or jalapeno chili and the waitress said they had ran out. I was 2:00 p.m., what do you mean you ran out? We were looking for something to "save" this blandness of both our dishes; thank gawd they have containers of sumac & salt at the table. The basmati rice was bland as well. The beef koobideh, tasted like plain hamburger meat with minimal seasoning. Bottom line, I didn't finish my dish, I just left most of it. My motto is: "If it's not worth the calories, don't eat it." As for the environment: No music, etc. I really don't mean to bash the place; but you guys need to spruce up the place. My seat at the table was ripped; and the table was dirty when we sat down and asked for it to be cleaned (again?). I wish you nothing but the best in this economy!

Hot sauce, garlic sauce, and the pita bread are a must. The nutty dessert baklava is good as well, sweet & sticky. Overall. This is a good place that offers amazing rotisserie chicken, way better than the ones from the supermarkets or the wholesales place. Just my two cents. Make your choice wisely ;)

Sadly, the quality and quantity of food has been going down these past 2 years. Prices keep going up which I understand and that's not my complain. In spite of all that I still went, not as frequently as in the past. But the last time I went on a Monday around noon, the greek salad was probably a day or two old. It was inedible so I had to toss it. I realized it after I got home. The beef kabobs were so thin and small, not worth the price anymore. This place used to be known for having long lines (but it moves fast) but not anymore and I can see why. I get a feeling they are not interested in keeping the place open for much too long. It's bittersweet since I live in the area and it used to be one of my go to places.
