My 2001 Honda Accord Coupe V6 needed some ooomph after all these years so I dropped by The Muffler Store without an appointment on a lazy weekday. After waiting a little bit big Keith (the owner) asked me what I needed and I told him I wanted to give my Honda Accord some attitude. He told me to pull my car up into the garage and he soon got her up on the rack. After listening patiently to what I was more specifically looking for, he gave me a choice to put in a flowmaster system (@ $700) or simply drop my mufflers and weld on some sweet dual Silverline exhausts. I told him let's try the silverlines first. His assistant quickly took off my dual factory mufflers and the connecting Y-pipe. While my car was being worked on I asked Keith about an ongoing oil leak I was having with my engine. I told him I had taken it to Concord Honda the week before and they advised me to replace my oil pan first ($335 by the way) to address this oil leak. Keith stopped and looked at me with a contorted facial expression of disbelief and my suspicion that Concord Honda had pulled one over on me was confirmed. He then showed me "if you just follow the leak to the source you know it's not the oil pan!" He then gave my engine a quick look over and advised me the leak was more likely coming from the front upper part of the engine. Two weeks later I took it to Factory Specific and low and behold that's where the leak was! By the way, that's the last time I'll take my Accord to Concord Honda for work. Ahem.... Anyway, Keith then recommended I might want to put in a K&N Nano air filter to give the old girl some more oooomph. Long story short, I drove out an hour an a half later with a 17 year old VTEC engine that sounded like it grew an extra pair of you know what. And man did that engine jump when I pressed on the accelerator! All that fresh air coming in through that new filter. And the low growl from my chrome Silverline pipes was the cherry on top! More air into the engine and smooth unrestricted air out of the engine. Needless to say, mission accomplished! I definitely recommend this muffler shop to anyone looking for a straight shooting mechanic who would rather get your return business than try to up sell you on unnecessary repairs and fill up their cash register. Hmmmm....Concord Honda anyone!?! Definitely, a FIVE STAR experience that left me cruising home with a smile on my face and the appreciation for an honest trade man very good at what he does! Big Keith and Nate are AWESOME! My brother and I were starting a road trip to Seattle this morning and we thought we smelled exhaust gas in the cabin. We stopped by The Muffler Shop and talked with Keith who offered to take a look at our exhaust system. Keith put us on the rack but first popped the hood to give things a look over, and found the oil fill cap had been left off! After a laugh, he wiped up the oil and sent us on our way with no charge. I really like these guys. Obviously skilled but also pleasant and helpful to work with. Jim was a bit under the weather the morning I required his assistance and he thought it might be from a recent visit to church... hmmm... lots of food for thought here, but I digress. I was referred from another shop to have my car's O2 sensor removed because it was froze up and required a blow torch to break it loose. They made short work of that task and quickly replaced it with a delivered new sensor. They also noticed my car had a very loose engine mount nut and tightened that up too! This was a positive and entertaining experience for me and I feel my car was well taken care of. I appreciate doing business with quality people like the guys who run this shop.
