This place advertises itself as a tapas restaurant. It's absolutely not. It's just pretending to be and when you get here if you actually know what tapas are you are you will be disappointed. I'm not saying the food is bad but it's not tapas.

Hidden gem! Nestled in a residential area, this wine bar has a great rotating menu and out door patio (a must for the summer in Sac). They are famous for their tins (mackerel, sardines, etc, which are served with a plate of bread), but if that's not your jam-they have other options too. Our fave were the arancini!

Small plates, Spanish-themed menu. We opted for tinned fish selections: mussels pate, trout pate, skate in curry sauce and octopus in Gallacian sauce. All were served with sliced bread, pickled onion and red chilis. The skate was our favorite but all were good and spoke to the traditional pinchos offered in the Iberian peninsula. Perfect with the cava. Cute neighborhood spot, indoor and outdoor seating.

We wanted to have a light dinner and found this adorable wine bar. The inside decor was colorful and modern. There are outside tables in the parking lot. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the unusual wines which were delicious. The food was fresh and delicious. The golden beet dish and seasonal peach dish were amazing! We hope to return soon!

I was initially excited by the pics of good items on the Yelp page. The good was even 1000 times than expected!! OMG! The anchovies, the bone marrow, the confit chicken, and the shrimp were simply AMAZING!! Oh and the wine - was incredible as well!! The service is top notch and personalized! The ambiance is quaint and small which will throw you off because the food and the wine are anything but small!!! Great date spot, best friend date, or a solo night!

Amazing! All the way around. Food and service was exceptional! I would recommend! Wine and beer list was also amazing.

Cute neighborhood wine bar with an interesting selection of Spanish wines and tapas served in a cozy setting with good service. We tried it for the first time this evening and enjoyed trying wines and small plates none of which we had ever experienced before. The beet and goat cheese salad was a big hit with my princess and I really loved the Norwegian smoked herring tin. We very much enjoyed our time in this cozy place and clearly will be back here again to try more of their unique offerings.

Delicious fresh and unique dishes. I came here on Friday at 5 and was easily able to get a table outside. I ordered the Shrimp Cakes and the Beet Salad. The shrimp cakes were light and crispy. The beet salad looked and tasted amazing! Refreshing, zesty and creamy. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes. Highlights: - Service was quick and friendly - Outdoor seating doubles the space inside - Dog friendly - small parking lot and lots of street parking

Wow! Its amazing to have such incredible food in East Sac. This restaurant and wine bar seems like something you would have downtown. We ordered three dishes to share and everything was amazing. We had the cornish game hen, carrot three ways and a bean and pea dish. They also have a wonderful selection of wine, and other drinks. The restaurant is decorated with incredible art, plants and color. Highly recommend! This is a hidden gem you can walk to if you live in East Sac.

Hidden gem with fantastic food and warm service. I was visiting from San Diego and wanted to find a wine bar that showcased great ingredients. The nook really lived up to that expectation!! We had the shrimp cakes, tomatoes and cheese, and tinned anchovies!! Wowww the shrimp cakes were so light and crispy and perfectly paired with a bitter, sour, and sweet arugula salad! I think the tomatoes and cheese were my favorite though! WOW the cheese was so milky and luxurious and paired phenomenally with the yellow tomatoes. Loved everything about this dish!! The tinned anchovies were also really fun !! It had sliced olives and paired with pickled veggies and peppers. Wanted to take the oil home haha Loved everything about this experience. Ambiance was great and service was even greater. Hope to come back soon

Ate dinner at The Nook on a Friday night. We sat outside in the front patio because we were traveling with our dog. We ordered the Shrimp Gambano and the risotto paella. Both were absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The Nook is a small, intimate space, located in a residential neighborhood.

Went to an early dinner or snack I should say with family. Had some issues; as their online booking let me book an hour before they even opened. After seating we were given a menu that wasn't what they had posted as their their online menu. We were told the online menu hadn't been updated in a while after showing the hostess/server. We found items we would eat and the food was pretty good, but really was looking forward to items in the online menu. The set up was nice and well decorated with a lot of outside seating. I'd love to go back to see if they updated their menu with the other items.

They blend in quite well with the neighborhood, and are located across the street from one of my favorite Thai restaurants. As soon as we came in service was so kind and made us feel welcome. The staff (Bella and Alexa) were so kind to us the entire time, and when we left they even suggested we come to their events since we loved the food so much. Yes and yes!! We ordered a pairing of their best selling green curry ceviche complimented by a Riesling. we also ordered the Thai beef tartare. Ok, at first bite of the tartare... FLAVOR! It was so delicious and paired well with the Riesling. The green curry ceviche was refreshing crunchy and zesty. The beef tartare is the best in the Sacramento area hands down. We sat outdoors, and we saw that it would make a great space for intimate gatherings. I reckon as the weather gets warmer I may opt for indoor seating, but this option is definitely worth coming back for. I couldn't recommend this place any more. We snagged a cookie on the way out and NO WAY THAT BETTY COOKIE was one of the best things I've eaten. They bake too?? AND they open at 7 for my return to office mandate :( I love it here

Go for the experience if you choose On the plus side we ended up at the dive bar Golden Bear after for pizza nachos and beer and I have found my new favorite dive bar so I'll call that a win!

This hidden gem offers an experience that's unlike anything else in the city. The setup is simple but charming: you literally walk up to a window and order your wine. I believe it's one ring for white, two for red, and three or four for sparkling--don't quote me on that, but it adds a playful, old-world vibe that makes the whole experience memorable. The Wine Window is affordable, laid-back, and surprisingly quaint. It's the kind of place where the ambiance, the people, and the energy make it feel more like an experience within an experience--not just a drink stop. I had the chance to chat with John, the owner, who shared a bit of the backstory. He previously owned a full wine room nearby, but when the pandemic hit, he had to pivot. Instead of calling it quits, he leaned into a smaller, more intimate concept inspired by wine windows in Europe. Honestly, I think the scale makes it even better. The outdoor patio is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine while people-watching on L Street, and yes, there's even a restroom available (a rare but very appreciated amenity for this type of setup). If you find yourself downtown, do yourself a favor--swing by The Wine Window, have a chat with John, and enjoy a unique Sacramento experience.
