Visiting Ojai and stopped by Ojai Beverage Company for lunch. Food was PHENOMENAL! Max n cheese with pulled pork was great. Flavors were incredible. Fries were great and my husband's beef dip was really good. Meat was delicious. Beer selection to drink was really impressive. Over 50 taps of craft beer, cider and kombucha. Definitely worth a stop. If you don't want to eat and drink there, they have and incredible selection of craft beers to go as well as wine, cider and kombucha. So worth a visit. Our server Tim was also incredible. This place is legit! When you enter this establishment, you are in a sort of high-end liquor store with rows and rows of wine with refrigerated sections on the left full of beer kombucha and other items that need a chill. Hard alcohol is on the right. If you continue towards the back you'll come into the small restaurant and bar area which is awesome. In addition they have an outside indoor outdoor patio or such. The food here is extremely hearty and very delicious. The fish tacos are grilled and the tortillas are House made or at least they sure look like it. The tri-tip sandwich was excellent with mushrooms and a spicy mustard. Everything that came out of their tiny kitchen looked amazing. In addition you can do a beer flight in which you can choose any three beers off of their vast menu which is I think the way to go. I LOVE OBC! They have such a great assortment of beverages to choose from. You can enjoy a beer and snack in the back. Try a flight, then pick a couple items to take home with you. I spoke with the manager as I was looking for something specific I had purchased before. While the item wasn't currently available due to being a seasonal item, he was able to point to something else to try. I also made a recommendation of the awesome Marshmallow Milk Stout from Garage Brewing. Hope to see it tried out at OBC as it will be a much closer drive than going to Temecula! I recently moved to Ventura County and will definitely be back in to Ojai Beverage Company more often! read more

Love love love this local brew stop where you can buy beer or wine with an amazing selection as well. It's grown so big since they first opened and some of what I loved about it has been lost while some had stayed and some changes are welcomed. I miss the small town feel of it as the secret has escaped and now this place can be so busy that it's hard to find a table. I love they have beers on tap now but mostly I love buying such different brews and drinking them at a table. It's a great place for a date, friends night out, and especially to browse the beers our wines and find one you've never seen or tasted before and give it a swig on the ole pallet. I have found some amazing beers that have become my favorites. I haven't had the food but I've heard it's pretty tasty. Great local shop that I recommend and recommend to go often!!! read more

This was probably one of the best "tavern" meals that I think I've ever experienced. We sat in the covered dog friendly "patio"... which felt more like a restaurant dining room rather than a patio since it was attached to the restaurant and covered. Our server was exceptionally friendly and very familiar with (and able to describe) absolutely everything on the beverage menu. He had some great suggestions for appetizers and lunch and gave the same courtesy to the kids that he gave to the adults, which was very nice. I was very happy with my salmon caesar salad. The salmon was perfectly grilled and seasoned. Everyone else at our table was very happy with their meals as well, including the kids. I wish I could drag this place closer to home because I would definitely want to come back here over and over again! read more

Incredible amount of wine ,liquor and beers from around the world available in one location. Friendly stuff and there is an amazing chef works the back of the restaurant. Had a few awesome appetizers, chicken in lettuce wrap, and bruchetta (?) All good, washed down with some heffewizer. Place moi bien. Hopefully understand half of it at least what I wrote. You would never know from the front there was a restaurant in the back. Looks like a liquor store from looking in. Great service and food. Dog friendly. I was incredibly disappointed by my experience here. It took 15 minutes before the waitress even acknowledged us. The restaurant wasn't busy, so I'm not sure why service was so slow. The service was friendly, just slow. We had to wait another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Waiting for food is normally not a huge issue, but the burger and fries were bland. I ordered the deep sea burger and truffle fries. The burger was dry and under seasoned and the fries were unsalted. My husband's burger was okay, but not spectacular. The drink menu is extensive and they have a good selection of beer, unfortunately the food was lacking. Given all the other positive reviews, I hope that my experience was unique and that the staff was just experiencing an off day. read more

Where to begin? You walk into an alcohol lovers paradise featuring vast varieties of beer, wine and spirits, all layed out quite beautifully. The employee at the front was very friendly and was happy to tell us the run down of how things worked. You can either purchase your drink selection in the front of the store, and drink it in the restaurant, or choose from one of the 50 plus beers on draft, or a hand crafted cocktail. (I really enjoyed the lychee martini). The pork sandwich was amazing! Very good sized and the pork was perfectly cooked. Very moist, but not complete mush. The fries are made from scratch, not exactly crispy, but still amazing... on to dessert. Shout out to the pastry chef for the beramisu! It was amazing. As myself being a pastry chef, i can really appreciate a great dessert. The cake was super moist and fresh. The frosting was rich, but not too heavy. The beer flavor was there, but not over powering. My dad and I stopped here for some food and beers. We are booth vegetarians I scoped this place out before we headed to Ojai . The veggie menu did not bum me out so I figured it would be good. The front is the shop and towards the back is the bar and places to sit. The place was hopping the night we were there and we sat at the bar. You can order their full menu from anywhere though. Turns out the veggie foods were tasty! A little on the heavy side for me, I got the veggie burger with beets, goat cheese and arugula. That was kind of a lot of taste going on but it was still really good. My dad got some avocado tacos which looked good but were too big for him to finish. These were not small street sized tacos. The Ojai Beverage Company is a loud, group-friendly American gastropub welcoming to dogs and children. The beer is good, the wait times are quick and everyone appears to have a nice time. The problem is, their food is bland and completely unseasoned. Is there a city tax on salt? Are the locals prone to hypertension? Don't give me that tired line that "the customer is responsible for seasoning their own food." Anyone with culinary experience knows that acid and sea salt, when integrated into the cooking process, taste better than a shake of Morton's on a cooling burger. But that's what they serve here. Damn. My family, typically forgiving of mediocre food, found their meals difficult to finish and crying out for flavor. The only exceptions were the fried artichokes and breaded pickles--the sole brined items on the appetizer menu. For a similar vibe but superior food, head to The Nest, or elbow your way into the kitchen with some Kosher salt and peppercorns! read more

The others in our group enjoyed their burgers/sandwiches. The french fries were good- I had the blackened fries. The waitress should educate herself on the beers. I asked about what were the best ambers/reds- she pointed some out on the menu and I ordered from what she suggested, it was a dark stout- not what I was looking for.
