OBC is a first and foremost a fantastic liquor store with some fun snacks. In the back, they also have a very friendly bartender where you can get wine, beer, cocktails and food. Oh my! I hadn't eaten a hamburger this good in years! Cabernet reduction and 50 different fresh brews on tap. Cooked exactly as I asked. Of course, I had to have fries as well. I was hoping for more. I found the french fries to be overly greasy (regular, Cajun and even truffle) and the burger patty dry and over cooked and the bun also dry and stale tasting. Not so sure about the black bun that came with my burger, is it filled with food coloring? I was hesitant to eat the bun to the point in which I opted out. I went to OBC for the first time & I had no idea what I was missing! They have a huge drink selection, I opted for the $5 margaritas. If you like artichoke try the deep fried artichoke sooo delicious. I forgot the name of my burger, I think it was the "stinky grave burger" but it was sooo yummy! Can't wait to go back! read more

This is the closest thing to a "local pub" I can recommend in Ojai. We come here often so this review is based on an overall experience over the long term. When you arrive it will be nicely lit and your first impression might be that you have entered a wine store. Someone will typically greet you from a register on the right. They are the cashier for the beer/wine section. They are greeting you because they are glad you came (weird right), they can help you make selections. You can find great beer, wine, and spirits, a good selection only mildly overpriced. If you are there for a meal walk through the wine section to the back. You don't have to wait to be seated just find a place and sit down. They have table service and bar service. They have two dining rooms, I prefer the main room not the addition. The tables sometimes wobble so ask for help they'll fix it right away. Chairs can be close together but it has never bothered me here and adds to the pub experience. Food: Good pub food menu selection some items are losing their luster and need updating. The quality of the food seems very good and is always satisfying. Most of the servers have been their awhile and are happy to guide your decision. Beer: review the beer list as the taps change all the time. They keep a wide variety of quality beer rotating with many local choices. They might have the busiest restroom in Ojai. I often have to wait in a line to "go". And the restroom is right if the dining room, I chalk it up to the pub atmosphere. The owner's name is George he is a friendly guy who genuinely is happy to meet you, probably why the staff is so genuine. For two with beverages you might spend 50-60 bucks. read more

This place has always been my husband's and my favorite date spot. We would come every weekend, just about, and try out wines, beers and eat their spectacular food! Went here for lunch on a Saturday. I was skeptical when we approached the front since it looks like a mini mart on the outside. We were greeted by the store cashier at the front who assured us the food is fantastic. I was very pleased to find a patio area which I wasn't aware of from Yelp. After a two hour hike, I was craving a burger and beer for lunch. Three stars because this place has a huge beer list, you have 50 beers to choose from, with 7 rotating on tap. They also made my burger patty medium rare like I asked and it was fresh. The service was so-so. The first server that I spoke with wasn't very knowledgeable about the beers I was asking about, so I end up asking for tasters. I went off the recommendation for their throwin' it back cab burger, which end up being super bland. When they dropped my food, they didn't bring me silverware or a napkin. They just dropped it and left, so I just got up to go grab my own roll of silverware so I could start eating. There wasn't very much of the aioli or cab sauce on the burger, so I asked for sides. It took so long and I was so hungry that I ate half the burger before it came out. This is a place I would try again, because a lot of the food I saw on other tables looked really good. My suggestion is just know what you want, order it all at once, and try to stop them and catch them when they're at your table to ask for what you need, because no one really stopped to check on me. read more

We loved this place. The food was great, the drinks were great, and we met some wonderful people while we were there. Nichole, the bartender, was awesome too. I really liked meeting Sergio, the manager, but we didn't see him serve us so I just assume he was awesome too! We will definitely come back here on our next visit. We have the Cab Burger and it was excellent. We wanted to try the grass fed burger but the Cabernet reduction sauce on the Cab Burger hooked us. We substituted cheddar for the provolone and loved it. We are busting for the weekend and found them on Yelp. They had outdoor seating so we thought we'd give it a try. I walked into this place and realized I found Heaven. I love beer and I've never seen so many beer choices under one roof. Then we find out Yelp was wrong about their opening time so we were 30 minutes early. They fed us anyway! WONDERFUL selection of beers and spirits. I could spend hours looking all the wine and hard alcohol!! Food is pretty good too. The past few times iv been the service is a little slow... This was our first night in Ojai, and we absolutely loved it. They've got an outdoor "beer garden" type setup that was super chill and the food was amazing. We had the lobster mac n cheese (I don't even really care for mac n cheese but my wife and I loved it), fried artichokes (amazing as well, and a good reason for us to keep coming back), and the fish tacos (we probably wouldn't get this next time. You order and get your drinks inside, get seated outside, and your food is brought to you. A little dark out in the parking lot - some lights would be nice. We had fried artichoke hearts, a pulled pork sandwich, and the tri tip sandwich. Yes, that's too much food for two people. Artichoke was really good. This place rocks! The outside doesn't look like much but as soon as you walk in your hooked. The front half of the place is a beautiful wine and beer shop (liquor also). We were greeted by a very nice gentleman who raved about the food, told us the restaurant was in the back. We sat at the bar and had lunch. They have several tables and a patio as well. The bartender was amazing. He knows his beer. We told him our preference and he was spot on with his suggestions. The food was incredible. We had the Firehouse Burger which has to be one of the best burgers we've had in a long time. The fish tacos were good as well. They had ceviche on special and it was fresh and delicious. When we were done eating we finished our beers while browsing through the store and looking at all the different beers in the cooler. Fun time. read more

Such a gem of a place. You would expect there to be a good selection of places to eat and drink in Ojai but as an infrequent visitor, I can't find them. So when the guys at "The Mob Shop" (amazing bike shop btw) recommended this place I was enthused. Incredible selection of beers, both local and imported. Wine also. Essentially this place is a higher end style wine & beer store. You can buy your drinks up front and bring them back to the restaurant or just order off the menu. I ate their Jalapeño buffalo wings, which were very nice and exactly what I wanted at the time, so I can't comment too extensively on the food. I saw incredible burgers and salads pass buy on their way to other happy customers. The service was very god. Friendly, attentive folks with a genuine interest in their customers having a very nice experience. I will definitely be back every time I visit Ojai. read more
