    The Truck
    Jacques I.

The People's Burger food truck came to my workplace, so decided to finally give it a try even though I usually spot this truck before going to the stadiums. Who doesn't crave a burger every now and then? The menu features a good amount of different burger options, varying on condiments and toppings. And of course, there's fries because every burger needs fries. I ended up ordering the Drive-In, which included melted American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and a drive-in sauce that was like a tartar sauce, and I added french fries. The meal unfortunately was a miss for me. It wasn't terrible, but not something I'd order again. The beef patty was overly seasoned, so saltier than it needed to be, and the worst thing that could happen to french fries happened - they weren't crispy, but more on the soft and mushy side. Yikes! Especially since the meal is close to $20, I don't think it's worth it. However, I will say that if the burger hadn't been so salty, I could see its appeal, especially with its own tartar sauce and the portion is filling. No puny burgers here! Better luck next time.

Found this 'burger' truck on our way to T-mobile park. They had picnic tables with umbrellas to eat at...a BIG plus! The gentleman was super friendly and cooked the burger upon order. It was very good, loads of flavor! I recommend stopping by before your next Seattle Mariners game.

This is a fantastic place to grab a burger before going to the game, and surprisingly non-game prices considering what you get! Quite a tasty burger (even by Chicago standards). I like that there is some picnic style seating just in front of the food cart, as well as lots of accoutrement (mayo!) so you don't have to ask for it like an annoying person as I always do. Definitely a better bet to get your burger here before paying exuberant prices inside the stadium. To be honest, it's good enough to just swing by on a game day even if you're not going to the game.

First time tastes of amazing burgers. The management at The Lodge at Peasley Canyon arranged to have The People's Burger truck serve up some of their fare yesterday, and all I can say is, WOW! I had the Grizzly Burger which consisted of a 1/3 lb. burger patty topped with sautéed onions, bacon and Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. Simply delish. Be prepared to loosen your jaw muscles as their burgers are huge. Wife had the Black 'n Blu Burger which consisted of the same sized burger patty topped with blue cheese, arugula, caramelized onions & bacon. Double WOW! The deep fried potatoes were just a tad bit oily, (thus the 4-stars) but still tasted great. Our meal was topped off with a Coke & Dr. Pepper and needless to say, these were the best burgers we've had in a long time. Of course I'm partial to Dick's burgers and the wife likes BK Whoppers, but the burgers prepared by The People's Burger truck are gourmet type burgers. There are about 7-8 choices so we had a difficult time trying to make up our minds as to which one seemed to be the best. More than happy with our choices. Will look them up next time they're in the neighborhood. You won't go wrong attacking these burgers.

    Classic burger ($8) + Fries ($2.5)

On one particular day when I was craving a burger, I spotted this food truck and marveled at the seemingly perfect timing. What are the chances that the food I'm longing for at the moment just suddenly appears? As usual, I had no will power and couldn't help but treat myself! This truck's menu offers several substantial burgers and one lighter vegetarian option. Despite the variety, I chose their "Classic" ($8) which is topped with cheddar, lettuce, slice of red onion and tomato and their homemade Truck Sauce. With this being my first visit to The People's Burger, I kept my order simple to get a feel for what makes them unique. In general, sometimes the more basic the burger, the better, since I'm then able to appreciate the natural flavor and grill of the meat. Although their Classic is simple, it is quite messy and completely slathered in sauce which is a combination of ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish and seasonings. The bun held up well against the condiments, but next time, I'd likely ask ask for sauce on the side or half the amount. I'm glad to say however, that they do not skimp on the ingredients. I enjoyed the thick slices of tomato and onion, and loved the bed of arugula which added a fresh peppery bite. The patty was juicy, cooked medium-well and seemed to have some herbal undertones. Between the hefty patty, bright vegetables and slightly tangy sauce, the burger was well-balanced, picture-perfect and also pretty indulgent. Of course, I couldn't have a burger without fries, which are an additional $2.50. These were pretty simple and subtly seasoned. Some were nicely salted with a hint of rosemary, but others tasted completely plain. They were alright, but the seasoning could have been more evenly dispersed. As for service, the guys in the truck were amiable and seemed to genuinely enjoy interacting with the customers. As we walked up, one of them immediately began conversing with us and introduced their menu. They also assemble the orders pretty quickly as our food was ready just a few minutes after ordering. Overall, this truck has got you covered whether seeking a traditional burger or a unique creation with more complex ingredients. 3.75 stars.

Burger & fries - very good!

People's Burger is a good food truck. I've had two burgers from them so far, the Backyard which is their cheeseburger, and the Black 'N Blu, their blue cheese and bacon burger. Both were excellent. Great sear on the burgers, fresh ingredients, made to order, soft buns and crisp veggies. The fries are great, too. I like the seasoning they use. Also, the guys in the food truck are friendly and fast. The couple times I've been here, I've had my order in five minutes or less.

Shortly after you do get your food and I didn't wait too long for my meal. To be honest, I'm writing this review late. It's been a few months, but I'm still dreaming about that Ube pancake. It comes with one pork chop, one longanisa, one lumpia, two eggs, and garlic rice. Everything was flavorful, cooked well, and filling. It was a great way to sample several Filipino favorites on one plate. Overall, I had a great experience and can see why Ludi's has such rave reviews.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

We also got a round of beers. Or in my case I got their hard seltzer, which wasn't too bad, I would probably just get a light beer next time. Service was great outside! We came here mostly for one thing: I absolutely could not wait for their gluten-free vegan chick'n pot pie. A pie i'd been waiting months to try. A pie unlike any other pie. A pie that I still think about to this day. We walked straight into a Cardi B drag show. And by "walked into" I mean we opened the door and Hot Pink Shade sashayed right in front of us. It was exactly the kind of welcome we love. It was also the first green flag in a sea of green flags at Life On Mars. I could barely sit still as I waited to order my GF/VG pot pie. We got the drinks outta the way (a peach hard cider for me and a fancy-schmancy cocktail for the lady). I was positively GIDDY when Anna came to take our order and I blurted out chick'n pot pie excitedly. I nearly died when she said they didn't have any. Normally it wouldn't have been such a big deal, but I was from out of town and had literally been craving this damn pie for months! And I lied, I didn't nearly die but I DID nearly cry and that's almost as bad. Even the bestie lamented about what a let down this was. Anna. Dear, sweet Anna. We must have looked really hard up because this sweet baby angel offered to ask the cooks if they could whip one up special just for me. Let me tell you why this is a big deal: For one, she didn't need to do that. That's going above and beyond, and she was such a graceful little buttercup when she did it. Second, making a gluten free biscuit is a finicky, precise, detailed process. It sucks, honestly, and I don't blame them for not having them every day. I nearly cried when she came back and told us the cooks said YES. And this time i'm not lying. It was beyond the type of customer service i'm used to. It was.... humane. It was...empathetic. It was...totally first world problems but it meant so much to me! Especially since Anna said it had been a DAY and she was at her wits end. For her to have a rough day and still have the grace and compassion to make my stupid GF/VG chick'n pot pie dreams come true.....well, yeah, it made me a bit teary eyed. The pot pie was delicious, as expected. It was nostalgic and comforting, like a big hug in a bowl. The flavors were rich and deep, the biscuit soft and flaky; it was one of the most delicious things i've tasted on my GF/VEG journey. Between the food, the drinks, the customer service and the drag show......this was five stars all around. No doubt. I don't see the GF chick'n pot pie on their menu anymore. Maybe it's a seasonal thing? I hope it comes back, i'll be checking. And when it pops up again, so will I. Thank you, Anna. Thank you to the cooks on 2/19/26. Thank you to Hot Pink Shade, ISIS and King Leo Mane.
