This place definitely has a lot to work on. The kitchen was extremely backed up and it probably took me and everyone else around me 45+ minutes to get our food. The quality of the food was fine. Average sports bar food but the price was a little high even for Flagstaff. I got the wings ($17 for 8 wings) and a side of truffle fries ($6 for a small cup). The wings got the job done, definitely needed more sauce but the fries were very disappointing. Nothing truffle about them, maybe had some extra salt and Parmesan? Some other things I noticed was the burgers were a little too rare, they weren't able to make margaritas or any frozen drinks, and the hosts didn't really acknowledge us especially when we left. I'll have to try again in a couple months when they have everything under control. It's dim lit and huge in there with lots of seating , hopefully will be nice once they know how to get food out in a timely manner. I just wish the manager/or even server would have explained to us what was happening, it would have made me a lot more understanding. read more

Was highly disappointed by the Porch and the service we received. We ordered an appetizer, drinks, and a meal and received the appetizer right away, but the entree took forever and kept getting told it was coming. Love this place! The Porch is my new favorite spot in Flagstaff. Cool modern vibe and super comfortable. The food is killer--the Porch Burger was delicious and the chicken wings were crispy and flavorful. There were too many great options for sauce to choose from. Everything we tried was spot-on. Great beer selection with plenty of local crafts on tap, and if you're there for a game there are tons of big TVs everywhere. Easily the best sports bar in Flagstaff. Service was friendly and fast. I came excited to try The Porch for lunch, but I left a bit disappointed. I'm giving it 3 stars because they are obviously working out the kinks. I will give it another shot, but I won't be racing back anytime soon. Food was just average, nothing over the top, portions were a bit small, prices are high for what you get; the service was friendly, albeit a bit much at times - they may be trying a little too hard to provide a good "new restaurant in town" experience, but it was borderline annoying. The ambience was sports bar oriented, but the colorful ballon-like lighting is quite odd for a sports bar - sports bar meets clown show? I find it interesting that they feature a limited menu for their Flagstaff location; when they were renovating the building, we looked at their website to see the menu at other locations and were excited to try certain dishes that apparently didn't make the cut for Flagstaff. I will give it another shot in a few months and update my rating accordingly; I really do have high hopes that they can get it together before then. read more

My boyfriend and I came to the porch, he ordered the 8 piece buffalo wings. I ordered the smash burger. Boyfriend is a big wing eater and to his surprise he left a little disappointed, $18 for 8 wings is a bit much. They were a fairly good size but for the price I would expect a side dish. As for the smash burger; they did a good job at making sure it was well done. I loved it and finished my meal as well as my boyfriend. We also ordered a single fountain drink that was priced for $5. It's not necessarily a bad place to eat at, just a little pricey for what you're getting. Wouldn't recommend if you have budget. read more

Need to workout the kinks before they opened. Flagstaff is a non forgiving town on restaurants and they needed to train staff much better before rushing an opening. Three of our meals came out and the wings took almost an hour later. Management not in place. Just a bar manager who was fine, but not sure how to handle a kitchen and staff. Food temperature cold, out of Coors light and out of Chicken tenders. Just a suggestion: Find a few local charities and do a couple soft opens and donate some of the proceeds to those organizations. It goes a long way in this community. I'm sure a lot of money was put into the building, but please check the smell when you first walk in. The restaurant does not smell the same, but there is something in the corridor. May wait on coming back anytime soon. read more

Great new place for dining here in Flagstaff! The staff were attentive and friendly from the get-go, and the service was frequent enough and efficient without feeling overbearing. They mentioned that the joint had just opened up, but they seemed to have already worked out the kinks of a new restaurant for how smoothly everything went. Our food was delicious and even with a 'limited' menu, there were plenty of options - it was hard to choose! The modern, yet relaxed atmosphere felt welcoming throughout our meal. We really wanted to like this place. Flagstaff lacks in restaurant choices. We tried the Perch on their opening day, 1/1. The food was was very average (ie the grilled cheese was basically a cheese sandwich, no crispness). The service, drinks and atmosphere were pretty good. We tried it again today, 1/21. Unfortunately, the food and service had declined. First, the online menu did not match what was offered at the restaurant. (Yes, I was looking at the menu for the Flagstaff location.) Because they didn't have the menu options that were listed online, I ordered the grilled cheese again and specifically asked that it actually be grilled (a crispy grilled cheese). The order came out and it was not done the way I asked. The server knew that it wasn't done well after asking me about it. Instead of proactively trying to fix it, she chose to ignore us until we asked for the bill. We will be back... we want to like this place, but definitely will wait awhile to hopefully let them get their act together. read more
