Will not be back! I wanted to try this place for dinner, but we happen to be in the area this morning for breakfast so we gave it a try. We should have known it was a bad idea since it was the only breakfast/brunch place not busy. we ordered iced tea they were out of black tea. They only had tea flavored with fruit so we both got water. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon as the meat. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage as the meat. My bacon was soggy not crisp at all. It was flavorless. Husband's burrito had no flavor & the cheese was't even melted. He said it had no flavor. No seasoning at all; not even salt or pepper. cool place inside, but half assed attempt at food at best. We will not return to try dinner. This place is a (not so) hidden gem when looking for a brunch spot in downtown Gilbert! I've been here a handful of times and every time their food is amazing and the service is even better! (Um, you can't go wrong with the Brekkie sandwich or the breakfast enchiladas!!) And what's brunch without some mimosas...? The porch in Gilbert is very cool in inside and outdoor areas. We sat at the bar for happy hour and got some drinks that were pretty well priced. We started off with The Chips and dip for an appetizer- with salsa and guacamole. The guacamole was very yummy & tasted fresh! For dinner I ordered the Forbidden Rice with an egg on top. It was good but wasn't my favorite item on the menu. It comes with a ton of rice so either share or take some home! My friend ordered the Waffle Chicken and I ended up sharing it with her because it was soooooooo yummy! I highly recommend! The sauce it comes with is great for dipping it in! Another night of trivia, another loss, and another set of weird things on our recent visit, starting with us asking to sit in a booth and the host saying there were none available. Of course we saw two - one huge booth ready to go, and another smaller one that just needed to be bussed. After repeated inquiries (negotiating?), the host chose to seat us at the huge booth, which we didn't mind (and where we've sat before), but that did mean that a bigger party would have a tougher time finding a table when we were just two people - why not just bus the other booth? The host I saw later on slumped over the check-in stand; at first I thought he was napping, but he was watching something on his phone and doing a bad job trying to conceal it. You shouldn't have to hide it because you're not supposed to be on your phone period, right? Right? (This, after witnessing the bartender playing trivia on his phone - see my previous review). I've gotten the steak salad many times and this time the steak came out quite fatty and hard to chew, but I eat many overdone steaks so I just tried to bare with it. More egregious was the avocado, which was incredibly ripe, and any kitchen staff member should not have sent it out, because it should have been obvious that, if they could barely cut through it, how could I? Worse yet, how would I chew it? (And that's getting past the taste.) That got sent back and I was given another avocado that was just slightly better. Our server did apologize more than once for the steak and avocado, but nothing was done as far as the bill. The trivia app glitched twice this time, completely messing up our status in the game, so I think we are probably done with trivia! We hope not to be done with The Porch, because the place is cool and close to us, but, in an area of so many dining options, they really need to get their act together, once and for all. read more

While visiting in Arizona, My brother and his wife treated us to dinner at The Porch in Gilbert. The menu has a wide variety of delicious sounding dishes to choose from. Overall, the food was good, portions generous, but I wish that the items listed with "green chili " had more of that flavor. I had the green chili macaroni and cheese ,it was great, but there was hardly any green chili... Went here for a birthday weekend and it was a great time! The food was alright (sadly nothing to write home about just on Yelp) but the portions were great sizes! The drinks are definitely worth it though! I got a few and they were pretty strong! The Porch Pounder is made for two people but it's too good to share! We were over in Gilbert today and decided to try someplace that we have never been to, and the lucky place was The Porch. We walked in and were greeted right away and told to sit anywhere that we wanted to so, that was easy. Our waitress came over with a couple of glasses of ice water and asked us if we would like to order any drinks and I asked her about the Burger special that they had going on right now. We ordered our drinks along with our Burgers and sat for just a bit and drinks were served right away. This place is really spotlessly clean. The staff were constantly going around to tables and cleaning after someone left immediately. Burgers came and were cooked to order. They were great, came with we tried the sweet potatoes which were great, and the regular fries were hot and also very good. You don't get hot food much anymore, which is a big no no for me. This place was Great and speaking of Great, our waitress Sally was beyond Fantastic. She told us about things going on in the restaurant and the specials, refilled drinks, just a wonderful young lady. We don't get over there much, but I'll tell you that it's worth it to drive over there for the burgers. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other food items. Great Experience!! Cool little spot! Been there once to watch football which was great! They had all the games available and I even got to have one moved to another TV to accommodate my viewing. Also went once more for casual drinks with a friend. 2nd time was even better as the service was incredible! Very friendly staff! One of the bartenders was soo so sweet and made sure to make my drink perfectly! I wish I could remember her name to shout her out (she had gorgeous freckles) as she was AWESOME!! Finally visited the porch on 40th St. and Indian school and unfortunately to say I was not impressed as I enjoy supporting local business, but the food was very mediocre at best and the white staff was very inattentive. Went with a group of friends. We shared the happy hour menu and they served hummus with very little hummus. Many vegetables hummus was very mediocre and the boneless wings were just ground up chicken and deep fried with a sweet sauce that was not that great. And unfortunately, I kept asking for Mexican beer and what I received was Miller light draft and not what I wanted so I will not be returning to this place. read more

Ive now been a handful of times and it just keeps getting better and better. First, they were the first to have a local arizona made seltzer Becky, which was fabulous. Second, cauliflower app is incredible, like I literally dream about it. And then there's the jalapeños (must try). Third, it's just a fun place to be. Now overall, there's a few things to note. Yes they may say it's a 2 hour wait on a Saturday evening, don't be discouraged. I heard that once and not more than 30 minutes later (after I already walked across the street) did I get a text my table was ready. Just hang tight. My husband I went here for our first dining adventure in over a year! They did not disappoint!! Not only was this place fun, inviting, and safe, it was delicious! It was difficult to pick something from the menu because everything sounded so amazing. I had the vegetarian tacos and they were to die for! I was really impressed. They use beyond beef and it was flavored really well. I always appreciate when a restaurant has vegetarian options. We also tried the different iced teas and one of their current flavors, strawberry kiwi, is hands down the best tea I've ever had! I wanted desert but I was way too full. I will have to try and see if I can squeeze it in next time. The staff were amazingly friendly and everyone was spaced out really well. She missed out on what could have been a much larger tab simply because she took forever to take our order and seemed lost and confused wandering around, but not actually checking on us. We came in for a birthday party. Started with about 10 and ended up with 20+. At 9:00 security started clearing out empty high top chairs and tables to make room for their nightclub scene. At around 9:30 while it was still very empty, the head security guy basically said that we had to give up our chairs and table and when questioned about it he said he was the manager. About 10 mins later another gentleman came up and said that he heard there was a misunderstanding between our party and security and wanted to know what took place. I informed him that "the manager" had told us that we needed give ur our table and chairs so they could make room for their night club. He informed me that he was the manager and that it was their normal routine. I completely get that they turn the place into a night club later into the night, but basically kicking 20+ well paying customers out of their chairs when the place is still empty show what a horrible place this is. read more

Ugh. So bad. We used to order from the one in Arcadia a lot and loved it but the last two times here have been terrible. They advertise mimosas with a "flight" of juices and bring two random glasses with OJ. Fine. Once I started drinking my mimosa it tasted like soap. No one ever checked in to see how it was going and we had spent 30+ minutes trying to order so I couldn't say a thing. I ordered the avocado toast with over medium eggs. The toast came but was stale and not toasted, very little avocado, and the eggs were burnt but raw which is so weird. Bacon tasted like it was from yesterday. At one point we saw a server digging through 100+ credit cards left from patrons. I think it's illegal to keep those for so long and can't imagine they are all from a recent timeframe. Soup came out cold and not when it was requested as it was wanted before the rest of the to go order came out. There was zero pork in the pork stew, upon complain about it was told that there is pork included in the larger portion. So you get rice stew unless you order a larger portion. Me and my friends come here nearly weekly for the environment, the cocktails, music and food (especially the brunch spicy bloody marys and pretzels/mozzarella sticks during the evenings) but above all else the service! Our favorite waitress is Holly, she's attentive and quick no matter how many tables she's taking care of but over all we've never had an issue or had to wait long when we pop in. Went there last night with a few buddies, our server almost never came to check on us (15-20 minutes to get a beer as well) and it was Tuesday night.. wasn't the busiest night. Food was awful, fries were cold (that I had to ask for because they didn't even bring them out at first) and I swear we were bothering every one there by just being there. I hadn't seen this group of friends in almost three years and it made it so awkward every time someone came up to us because they seemed so annoyed. The worst part was at about 10:20 (to be fair I think they closed at 10 and we had no clue) a sweet girl came out and told us they're closed and we asked 'there's 30 seconds left in this suns game can we just watch this' and she said sure. The tattoo'd manager comes out, doesn't make eye contact with us (that says a lot) and just turns the T.V. off and scampers away. It was just overall horrible service and food, the ambiance there was nice. I apologize for being there (with about 35 other people scattered throughout the bar) after close, but the way y'all handed it is pretty disheartening. We decided to try The Porch since it's relatively new in DT Gilbert and they were promoting their trivia night. We enjoy trivia as a family. First, the server was wonderful. The stars have nothing to do with her service. But the food was terrible. Of the 5 of us, my wings were the only meal edible. The flavors were just "off" on the others (black and white tuna bowl, forbidden rice, buffalo roasted cauliflower, pork soup). No one finished their meal and no manager checked to see why. We won't be back for food or trivia. The trivia doesn't have a "live" host. It's all on the screen so it just feels like we could be playing at home. It didn't contribute to a festive and competitive atmosphere which is what we enjoy about trivia out. read more
