I'm on the fence between 3 and 4. The food was really good. I got the steak quesadilla and Jaime got the shrimp tacos. Both were really good. The salsa, like 6 different ones, were home made as well and the flavors were great. The other side, the service just ok and the ac, wait what AC. The guy said oh no it's on and smiled. Are they keeping the thermostat at 88? You can't have a restaurant here in Tucson in the summer when the humidity is 30% and not have air conditioning. Over all, I figure if the food is pretty good and all the salsa is homemade, that sways me to give them a little bit better rating. Give them a try let me know what you think. read more

Came here because my husband wanted to try it. I ordered the shrimp tacos & he got the carne asada quesadilla w/bean taco. My shrimp tacos were pretty good but a little too much cabbage for me. Should've asked for light cabbage. Pretty flavorful tho overall. Beans were good with a little spice. Husband's quesadilla was very good as well. Cashier guy was not very personable. We asked why it was so hot in here was the a/c not working?? He just smirked at us & said yeah. They also have a huge sign taped to the register that says they appreciate if we pay in cash because they have to pay a HUGE fee to the banks & credit card ppl! Omg! And lastly, we didn't know we had to ask for chips until the end where he have them to us after we saw somebody else with them. Needless to say I probably won't rush back here :( read more

Stopped by here for some lunch off of a recommendation from a family member and here's what we have: There is a wide selection of different types of Mexican food, including tacos and Sonoran dogs. I happened to order asada and al pastor tacos, as well as a Sonoran dog. All were perfect! In comparison to other taco spots around the city, Quesadilla's LOADS the meat on your tacos, instead of a small ration. Everything was cooked to perfection! The restaurant was clean and the staff are friendly. The prices are not bad either. If you like tacos, like I like tacos then this is your spot. TRUST ME! Two thumbs and two toes up for Quesadilla's. Based on the great reviews, my family has wanted to stop by The Quesadillas for awhile, and we were not disappointed. It's a very modest location with a small parking lot, but that didn't keep us from enjoying the great food. The tortilla was excellent, which is a pretty good sign that everything else will be too. The carne asada in my quesadilla was very flavorful and tender. (They give you an ample portion too.) My husband and son also enjoyed the chicken and chorizo they ordered in their quesadillas. The food was arriving at our table within minutes of placing our order. They offer a large selection of bottled sodas as well as fountain drinks. I forgot to mention: each of our orders came with a complimentary bean taco. Nice touch! This is not a cash only place but they have a sign that lets you know that they prefer cash if you have it. We were visiting from out of town, and my husband mentioned he had a craving for Sonoran hot dogs. I looked in the area where qe had other things to do that day (laundromat, fly-fishing shop, Ft. Lowell park) and up popped Quesadillas! It is simple food done right. My chicken and green chile quesadilla was tasty, esp. w/ the red salsa. (The tortillas are as good as everybody has noted.) And the Sonoran-style dog are terrific. They use bacon bits instead of a piece of bacon wrapped around the dog...which my husband pronounced 'a fine idea'. And Mexican buns, not the airy American ones! And you can get 3 loaded dogs for about $10, which is a great deal. And they had little wrapped pieces of jamoncillo (leche quemada), which made a great dessert :-) read more

This place is small but absolutely amazing, hands some of the best food I've had out here. So what to order I had the following: QuesaBirra - super tender perfect amount of cheese and very flavorful dipping sauce. I meal in it's own Jaas Taco w/ corn - wow again super tasty generous amount of meat Ribeye Taco - This one had me at ribeye, absolutely awesome flavor on the steak. I added some of the roasted, and green sauce. Rajas Con Crema Quesadilla - I love chiles so this was like freakin desert. I could have ate two, needed nothing. Perfect flavor. Read some of the other reviews and I tend to agree. First, yes, the place is dark. As far as clean goes, it is okay. Some of the employees were eating in the kitchen area. They should sit at a table if the are going to eat, not stand in prep area. I order two chicken tacos. They were not bad, but not out of this world good either. The chicken was a bit dry with not much flavor and the corn tortillas not homemade. Now, I think they normally serve flour tortillas, but I requested corn. So, maybe flour tortillas are their specialty and I just missed out??? They DO sell cold Mexican Coca-Cola which is so nice! I know straws are taboo these days, but I needed one and they provided from behind the counter. Just wish it had been long enough for the tall coke bottle. Their chips are okay ish, but again not homemade. Now let's talk about the salsa bar. Probably the best part about this place. The only thing is, no little cups allowed if one is eating in???? So if I need more salsa, I am scooping it over food I have already nibbled on. So, if I think about that fact too much I am a little like Nooooo!!! They had plenty of hand sanitizer around, but that doesn't work without other precautions. The people were very friendly at the counter and in the kitchen. It might even be a family that owns it??? So, I gave three stars because they were so nice. Still, know better, do better. They need to improve in sanitation and flavor. They need to celebrate their salsa bar and make homemade chips!!! I have been wanting to come here and try them out after reading such wonderful reviews on yelp I am so glad that I finally made it over! they are delicious, everything from the tacos to the quesadillas & the salsa bar I especially love the salsa bar and how it's set up, It seems to be that they have it sealed in a way for freshness and also take maintain the proper temperature. The Al Pastor (pork) taco was tender & seasoned to perfection I chose a corn tortilla at the suggestion of our cashier and it was amazing; the steak in my quesadilla was juicy & the cheese was a plenty! Each quesadilla comes with a bean taco and although the price seems high for the size of quesadilla, ours were packed with quality ingredients and it was an appropriate price! We had the barbacoa quesadilla and tried the carne asada and barbacoa tacos, everything was tasty and filling. I call your five stars - and I raise you, this spot. Too rich for your blood? My order was with carne and bacon chicken casadillas (added zuchini) and the mollete - I wish I could identify the favorite but it depends om what time and which was the last bite. From the thin and delicious tortillas, through the substantial flavored meats (somehow ensuring your bites are diverse but represented) and the cheese to keep it all hanging from your mouth instead of picked up from your lap. The mollete is like a Sonoran dog kicked your burrito off the table and gave the contents a soft bed of dough to rest its head on. The beans help stick on some cabbage and peppers so you concentrate on how much guac and pico you need - however the al pastor will not need it. The barbacoa was more like carne but it may have been food coma at this point so I invite an update from others on where that should be better explained. Plenty of delicious salsas are a small cost to add to the order and you will only need them to feel like it cannot get any better, until it either does through more or back to the OG. Plain said - all flavors here will make you cheer. For a poly-flavor addict needing a stomach beat to boom, impress your tribe you know what to consume.
