It's almost as if Ernest Hemingway and Anthony Bourdain came together posthumously and sang a duet;that's what this place embodies. It's almost like a dream because the selection is so ethereally procured and the placement of every detail is vastly superior to any other dining establishment I've discovered in Charleston. This place has so much to offer so I certainly recommend making a trip here for dinner or happy hour. If you're staying at The Pinch, then no it's not your typical restaurant inside your hotel. They really take detail to a different level when selecting the items on their rotating menu. If you're up for it, I'd recommend the caviar service and the petite seafood tower. The service is impeccable. You can distinguish fine dining establishments such as this gem from the rest upon the presentation of their dishes along with their explanation of each item used and how they come together. On their rotating menu, they featured a strawberry foie gras topped oyster which I couldn't resist ordering. It was a vibrantly zesty yet indulgent morsel which I'm glad I sampled. These folks are creating some high end gastronomical plates which I presume will be featured on a magazine that promotes their caliber of greatness. I really wish them all the best and am fortunate to have been able to spend my birthday in Charleston with such great attention to southern hospitality in the utmost capacity through and through. This is truly a treat!

I have several different places on my "foodie list" to try in Charleston and the Quinte was on the top of the list! Love the concept of a raw bar that doubles as a cocktail bar. They have a list of local oysters, and oysters from the east, west, even Canadian coasts as well. It is a little on the pricey side, we ended up spending more on our quick stop here compared to our dinner spot. Overall definitely will be coming back the next time I'm in town!

One of my fave spots in Charleston. I love that the space feels both luxurious and approachable. The menu is full of fun seafood options with unique twists -- my favorite being the broiled oysters with kimchi butter & crispy ramen. The seafood chowder is great with the AC pimento cheese on milk bread dipped in it. Overall, you can't go wrong with anything you order here. Executive Chef Jason Stanhope knows what he's doing. Service & staff were all friendly and excellent.

Quaint small pub like restaurant with outstanding wine list and handcrafted cocktails along with local beers. 8-10 varieties of oysters from coast to coast. Unique small plates and a few seafood main courses. We started with a dozen oysters that were perfectly fresh. Then smoked fish dip with country ham. Very good. The most outstanding and unique was the Beef cut tartare and sushi grade tuna in a horseradish and lemon anchovy sauce. Crab and farro was very flavorful. Excellent wait staff, very knowledgeable, intuitive, and prompt. The entire staff is sensitive to food allergens and requests. Also had the coconut panacotta which was the best dessert I've ever had in the US!

Let me start with the food and service, which was overall great and have no complaints there. My friend and I dined here last week on the first night we arrived in Charleston. We had the snapper crudo, oysters, shrimp roll, the steamed grouper in a brown butter sauce and we avoided alcohol. We understand there's always a risk with consuming raw or undercooked foods, but this is was not our first time eating raw fish and have never had an issue. Unfortunately, I came down with a crippling case of food poisoning hours later and had to be taken to the emergency room in an ambulance from our hotel. I was stunned when the doctor diagnosed me with food poisoning, because this place was very upscale. I tried to get ahold of the general manager, left messages but they have not contacted me back. I would say to the staff to take better care of food sourcing and handling so that future guests do not go through what I went though. I had to cancel a lot of my tours and pre-planned dinners because I was still getting over my food poisoning.

10 years ago I thought a really nice dinner was Red lobster. Whoa! Now it takes alot to make me be taken by surprise. I am not hard to please but I am hard to be extremely impressed. For a couple of years now I have been following a guy we met as an oyster shucker. Now he is a Chef at The Quinte Oyster Bar. Jerome comes up with some of the greatest and beautiful plates I have ever seen! We were able to sample some of the upcoming menu and I was literally left speechless. Just look at these beautiful plates! And the Red Snapper made me stop breathing. The way the foam melds with the thin sliced Red Snapper on my tongue. After sampling almost 300 restaurants in the Charleston area, The Red Snapper is my favorite and I will be back for more. The Qwintie & Caviar is everything in an Caviar Service without any of the work! But believe me if you have to ask how much it is, you may not want this dessert. That is not just any Ole Caviar, that is Ossera Caviar. I promise you though the way it melts in your mouth, the sweet vs salty, worth every single penny! Please go check them out And let them know Miss Panda sent ya!

First course. Caviar and uni included.

We arrived here on a whim New Years Eve night. The staff was great and squeezed us in for their tasting menu. We sat at the bar and spent the night hanging with the mixologist Greg from Minnesota. It was a great evening!

We had lunch at The Quinte and everything was terrific! The cocktails are unique and sophisticated, raw bar with fabulous condiments, and perhaps the best dessert we've ever eaten. We do NOT like loud music, but the music was moderate. We could easily talk. Decor and seating are very Parisian. Service is charming and impeccable. Perfect!

Oh. My. God. Take all my money. The food was amazing. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. The space was sexy. I would absolutely come back if I lived here.

It's a great spot to relax with a drink and take in Charleston from above. The bartenders were kind and welcoming, and the cocktails were very good. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the drinks, it was a fun stop during our trip and a great place to unwind for an hour or two.

Appetizers/shareable- We shared the calamari and French fries. The calamari was good! It came with an aïoli dipping sauce that was delicious. The French fries were comparable to any other restaurant fries. Nothing special. Main entrees- we each had a bite off of each other's entree/shareable to sample. Swordfish sandwich- flavor was there, battering was thin coated and gave off a nice crunch. Ceviche tacos- had a nutty Asian flavor to it. Came in 3 little bite sized taco like chips. Miss Paula grilled shrimp- shrimp in a curry Thai like oil served with 5 toasted baguette slivers. If you're into Thai red curry, I'd recommend this. They advertised the shrimp is locally caught. Oysters- nothing too exciting. Kitchen service- The reason behind the 0/5 for the kitchen service is because they messed up our order so many times. They missed two of our orders and didn't make them until we said something. Instead of getting our side salads we kept getting fries. We got double of things we hadn't ordered. From the moment the first person got served their food, there was a 40 minute gap in between the serving of the last person. Our foods weren't served together so we had some girls having to wait to eat. Even then, our last girl got her food to go because we also had another rsvp to be at. We spent about 3 hours on the rooftop total when they were so adamant on having a reservation. We expected to be here for only an hour so we could spend more time exploring downtown but couldn't do that due to the speed of the kitchen service.

One tip: sit at the bar if you can, the set up is stunning especially for taking photos! The cocktail menu was moderately extensive with two full pages of complex and simple cocktails. Honestly, it was so difficult to choose what drink to get because I wanted to get everything on the menu. The bartenders were so attentive and talented - their implementation of each cocktail was even better than the menu descriptions. Not only were the drinks delicious but also beautifully presented. They have some bar bites as well as quite a few small and large plates, we got the pretzels which to my absolute surprise were so good! You can tell the bartenders know exactly what they're doing. The surprise star of the night, though, was the grilled cheese. Calling it a grilled cheese almost feels unfair because this thing was next-level. Perfectly crisp on the outside, rich and gooey on the inside, and paired with the cocktails so well that we were talking about it long after we left. Sometimes the simplest thing on a menu ends up stealing the show. The atmosphere strikes that perfect Charleston balance of classy, cozy, and effortlessly cool. Great service, great drinks, and one of the most memorable grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had. If you're in Charleston and appreciate a serious cocktail program, The Gin Joint is a must-visit. We arrived for dinner with our 2-year-old. The tone was set immediately by our server, who was visibly annoyed when I didn't respond to his greeting fast enough because I was tending to my toddler. Rather than reading the situation with any empathy, he sharply said "Hi, miss" in a way that made it clear he expected immediate attention. Not a great start. Things only went downhill from there. My husband had to briefly step away to take a work call, and instead of accommodating the situation in any reasonable way, the server dropped water and bluntly said he'd return "when your husband is back"--effectively refusing to engage with me at all. Trying to make the best of it, I decided to feed my child first. After waiting quite a while with no assistance, I had to flag someone down--who turned out to be the manager. What followed was honestly the most appalling part of the evening. I asked if they could simply warm up my child's food. Not only did she refuse, she told me I could not feed my child in the restaurant. No alternatives offered. No attempt at accommodation. No offer for a kid friendly food item, or no offer to feed her in the hotel lobby. Her "solution" was that I should leave the restaurant and go find some outdoor space nearby to feed my toddler. To make matters worse, she added that "service will start at 6:15 sharp," essentially implying I should figure it out and be back on their timeline. The complete lack of empathy, flexibility, or basic hospitality was astonishing. I have never encountered such dismissive and hostile behavior toward a family with a young child--especially at a supposedly high-end establishment. Mind you we have been to plenty of restaurants including 3 Michelin stars. If you're dining with a child--or frankly, if you expect to be treated with basic respect--I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.
