Came here for lunch today to celebrate my wife's birthday. I had made reservations well in advance. Good thing, because at 1 pm they were busy. We were seated at a nice, enclosed, outdoor table. Our server was Josh. We had a nice view of their garden. We had a salad and fried calamari to start. The vinaigrette dressing was delicious. We both choose the seafood pasta as our main, also delicious. For dessert, a pear poached in red wine on a wafer and a custard side. We enjoyed it. The grounds are beautiful, the service was great. Six of us were there for lunch on Friday to celebrate a birthday. Everything was fine except the hamburger. It was ordered medium-rare and served raw on the inside. We sent it back, and another burger was served looking the same as the first. At that point, we weren't sure what to do. read more

Wonderful meal and dining atmosphere on Mother's Day! The Chef special of Scallops with vegetables and from the menu the sirloin steak paired with the Spring salad was delicious. Loved the outdoor seating that was all shaded. The waitress was wonderful, so friendly and very quick to deliver our meals, drinks, bread, as well as, any seasonings. VERY LITTLE INDOOR SEATING. Prepare for the weather, because you're probably going to be sitting in it. A heads-up from Ponte that we would be in the cold and wind would have been nice. They're making an attempt with lots of propane heaters, but it wasn't enough, especially when they sat us in what was basically a breezeway. We had to listen to the host greet every party and ask how their day was as they walked past us for our entire meal. Our first time to Ponte winery and restaurant and we'll definitely be back soon! Gorgeous grounds and views, lovely al fresco dining with shade and misters, delicious and fresh food, family friendly and great service! Our server Ramon was so welcoming, attentive and helpful. I brought my 2 year old with me for lunch today and we both had an amazing time. He got the kids cheeseburger and fries which also came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I got a glass of their refreshing white wine Vermentino which was very good and the calamari. It was refreshing to be able to sit outdoors and enjoy a meal during COVID back in October. My friend and I felt totally safe and had plenty of distance between us and the surrounding tables. The restaurant was crowded and reservations are a must here. Our food was wonderful, especially the pasta! The sorbet trio was also delicious. I highly recommend it, especially on a warm day. Thank you for responding. I have to admit, the comments showcase just how much your team truly does not listen or care about guests. - As I clearly wrote in the initial review, our server took the shrimp from the table back to the kitchen as if we were thieves trying to cheat you out of shrimp. There is no way to comp food that was not consumed. - Our final bill included the chicken that replaced the shrimp. This emphasizes the point that you truly ignored the entire incident of having salad dressing spilled on the jacket issue. - Clearly you are aware of the sewage odor wafting through the outdoor restaraunt as you did not respond regarding the origin. I could be mistaken, but I believe it was Claudio's wife that was making her rounds talking with staff about a flood situation and broken pipes while we were there. It is your staffs responsibility to notify their managers when an incident like salad dressing being spilled on a guests clothing occurs. Ponte is not McDonalds so trying to shift the onus on to us to ask for the manager as if it was a fast food joint is pathetic. In hindsight would you have preferred that we went into full "Karen" mode by demanding dry-cleaning reimbursement for the white suede jacket which was $70? In the end you didn't comp anything nor did you apologize for the jacket. read more

My husband and I ate here after a day of wine tasting. We had a reservation and were sat right away. However, after the waitress initially came by and we chose not to order any alcohol, we noticed that the service became quite different. There were a few other tables seated around us who had ordered wine and they seemed to be getting the most attention. We ordered the Brussels sprouts to start with. They were really good! Slightly crispy and deliciously seasoned with a balsamic drizzle over the top. For our main course, my husband decided to order the steak and shrimp. The waitress mentioned this was "on skewers" which my husband thought would be fine. However, when it came out there were like 3 pieces of shrimp and three small bite size pieces of steak. For the price, this felt like a very small portion. I ordered the cauliflower risotto. The flavor was okay, but the risotto was still slightly hard/crunchy like they had not cooked it all the way. This was after waiting almost 45 minutes for our food to come out! Overall, the dining atmosphere was nice and we liked that they offered outdoor seating as many places did not seem to have that available for dinner in wine country. Perhaps the chefs were just having an off night! This as a special occasion trip, but if we do find ourselves in wine country again we may give it another shot. read more

Surprised a bit on the subpar reviews. My parents live in wine country, so we've been here a handful of times throughout the years. It's been great just about every time, especially yesterday! My mom wanted to take my wife and I out for my wife's birthday. The service could not have been any better. We had Amanda as our server. I ordered their special of the day, crusted sea bass on top of gnocchi and artichoke. Ordering the special is always a bit risky in my opinion but this did not disappoint. It was soooooo good! I'm a fellow Winer! I enjoy coming to The Restaurant at Ponte. One of my visits the front host was not friendly at all. However, a few times I visited it got better. During that unpleasant visit, I checked in 8 minutes before my reservation. The front host says "I will let you know as soon as your table is ready since you're early." Perfectly fine I will sit across in the waiting area until a table is ready. 30 minutes passed and nothing. I then walked up and mentioned that I've been waiting for a bit and my reservation has time has come and gone but was wondering if they forgot about me. The other young lady apologized and said your table is ready please follow me. :( Errrr.. they forgot about me. Food: I've ordered a handful of items so look at my photos. I was not a fan of certain dishes but I will tell you that my utmost favorite is the Burrata Cheese and I will return as often as I can just for that. So soft and flavorful with the arugula salad and balsamic vinaigrette. The calamari is okay too but I think that it's too chewy but I still order it every time I visit. The complimentary bread is so good that I dip the calamari in the sauce that's given. Overall, a very nice outdoor restaurant that I would return to regardless of the bad experience with that one host. read more

We have been Club Members for about a year now. We visit about 2 or 3 times a month and more often than not we have lunch at the Restaurant. It goes without saying that the ambience and the food is fantastic.. However what's even more FANTASTIC is the great service we get from our favorite server Ramon. He is great, prompt, efficient, great sense of humor. What really impresses us is that we, as I mention visit a few times a month and somehow Ramon remembers our names and even what we ordered the previous visit. The ambiance of this restaurant is nice. It's outside mainly in a nicely put together courtyard per say. The service was great as well. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu. We had a few allergies that makes it a challenge to eat out, but our waitress was in direction communication with the chef to make sure we could eat some of the items. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. I ordered a chicken noodle special. It was okay, it wasn't my favorite very one dimensional. My wife order the filet, and that too was very one dimensional and bland. I am unsure about the dietary restrictions that made the dinner as such, but we aren't allergic to salt. Dishonest, over priced, rip-off. Ordered bolognese for $29 stating served with short ribs. When I got my dish, it was only a pile of spaghetti noodles with a couple tablespoons of ground beef with marinara sauce. I asked where's the ribs and was told the meat was taken off the bone and ground up. Yet when asked to produce the bones they couldn't. I had others in our party taste the dish and we unanimously agreed it was just ground beef. I don't understand why a restaurant charging high end prices would go out of their way to lie. A $1 worth of ingredients for $29. Ate some of it and pushed the rest to the side. What crap! read more

The dessert was extraordinary--one of the best delicate sweet assortment I haven't had for awhile. My favorite was the Neapolitan base under the pear. The texture is rich and buttery. The entree was okay. My client and I ordered the halibut from the menu special and the filet mignon. The tomatoes sauce covered the whole piece of tiny halibut which I am not very impressed about. The same unproportioned dish is also found in the mussel starter. The soup exceeded the mussels portion superfluously. I wouldn't mind the chief cut the corner a little bit. Just want to say this review is for the restaraunt and not the winery or Ponte wines. We've ate here a couple times and both times were good. On this occasion we started off with peppercorn crusted beef, parmageno and mixed greens salad. This was accompanied by complimentary foccia bread and a pesto dip sauce. Both were very good. For our entree we had the special of the day which was a salmon burger on a briochee bun. It came with sweet potatoe fries. That was a really big burger and fries so we split it and it was plenty of food. It was a warm day but plenty of shade. Waitstaff was very nice and attentive. Parking is no problem they have a big lot. A very nice late lunch and would definitely come back again. We didnt drink Ponte wines due to not really caring for them. read more

Currently here and just left the restaurant. It was our 15th wedding anniversary, also my parents 26th wedding anniversary. First of all the seater didn't listen when I told her there were 4 of us and they placed 2 silverware and plates down, I asked the server and it was almost 30 minutes before we reminded the server we were missing 2 place settings, so we also had to share the menus out to be able to order. I also ordered gluten free bread which didn't come out and the server again needed reminding before it came out 1/2 hour later, no apology was given. A fork was dropped, the server saw it and left it where it was, she didn't check back to check if I was happy with how my steak was cooked, the food tasted ok, but was cold (so seemingly was sitting there and not brought out straight away). I saw the table beside us getting an anniversary dessert with happy anniversary written on it, as we had already ordered dessert I literally moved the little sign saying anniversary on it to the very corner front of the table where she had been and would be coming to, to deliver and clear the table, so she blatantly saw it and completely ignored it and didn't wish us a happy anniversary. This place is stunning. The hotel is beautiful as are the grounds. The winery is lovely and they have some excellent wines. What I really love about Ponte is the restaurant. Now, make a reservation because it can get crowded. Parking is easy. You are going to love this place. First, the service is super nice. The wait staff is casual and friendly. They know their menu well and can pair you with a good wine. We were there for dinner and will be back and to stay at the hotel. If you like scallops, you will love theirs. They are seared to perfection and placed over some wonderful produce. The sides are great. Everything is great. Try their calamari, it is fabulous. So are so many appetizers to pick from, that is a meal in itself, but those scallops--just wow. The wine was very good and we grabbed a bottle at the winery to take home to friends. The staff was polite, but green--perhaps a result of newly-hired members as restaurants re-open (e.g. a filet should not come out without a steak knife). The 3 stars are for the food. My husband ordered the filet, which was cooked just as he'd asked and in a delicious sauce, but the risotto that came with it was overcooked and under seasoned. I got the overcooked salmon, which sat atop a block of dry polenta--the sauce was delicious, and though the zucchini didn't look appetizing, it was cooked perfectly. As we were finishing our meal (because I am just not pretentious enough to send back food), I noticed another order of salmon being brought to the next table, and the slab of salmon on that plate was nearly twice the portion that mine was--it's not that I was envious that this gentleman got two times the overcooked salmon...it's just that it became clear that quality control must be an issue. Call me crazy, but I believe that an establishment that charges higher-than-average prices is expected to meet higher-than-average standards. read more

Patty and I dined at The Restaurant at Ponte yesterday with her sister, Teresa, and Teresa's whimsical husband, Steve, whom i lovingly refer to as Steve-O. The ladies enjoyed their bottle of Super T wine, while Steve-O and I opted for Stone IPA's. Our server, Ramon, was a true professional. He was attentive, informative, and respectful to our whims and desires. He recommended the Bolognese which Steve-O and Teresa ordered. Patty selected the salmon sandwich, while I, being a vegetarian, chose the avocado flatbread. Ramon said the kitchen's saucier was from Sicily (that's an island off the coast of Italy). Teresa and Steve-O both commented that the dish was very "authentic.". Meanwhile, Patty and I thoroughly enjoyed our lighter fare. One more note, the bread and scallion oil (available for purchase in the adjacent gift shop...the oil, not the bread) brought to us before lunch was really quite tasty. read more
