This establishment offers tables (you will need a reservation) and open bar seating. I would like to preface this with the bar staff were fast, friendly, and overall the best part of this experience. However, we did put our name for a table and once we sat the service went completely downhill. Our food came out before our drinks, it was my going away get together and my friend couldn't even stay to enjoy her drink as she had to wait 30 minutes for a n/a beer. The food was dissapointing as well; we ordered the hummus and whipped feta plates; each only coming with 3 pieces of pita, and the most minimal amount of vegetables. We had to order more pita to even be able to enjoy the dips. Gratuity was automatically included despite the absolutely poor service and wait times. While the sunset view is pretty the only good part about this was the exceptional bartenders. Nobody came to apologize for the wait times, not once did the server check on our food, we had to flag her down (which I hate doing but it was a necessary at the rate of her service) to order more pita and to close out. Don't come here for a table or dining experience you'll be left disappointed. read more

Came here once for yelp elite event and had to come back. The views are amazing! You get the ocean, the pier and the top gun house. The drink I got was similar to a pina colada, it was a little weak on the alcohol part but pretty good. I also really liked the grilled artichoke, very healthy and delicious at the same time, is a win! The chicken sandwich we got was ok, decent but nothing notable. I enjoyed the service as well, there was only one guy when I was there at 4pm on a Tuesday but he was the host and the server, such a happy guy! read more

Great views but that's about it. Was hosting friends from out of town and made a reservation for 4PM. Walked up to the host stand at 4:03 and was told that we wouldn't be charged a late fee. Weird comment to even make. Then had to wait 10 minutes for our table to be ready. Once at our table, we had to wait 10-15 minutes for a waitress who then proceeded to question all of our ID's and last names. We're all in our mid-30s. They were out of several drinks, including the one that was called out as the highlighted drink of the day. Service was so slow that my wife had to get up to try to cancel our last round. Although you get a great sunset, I wouldn't return out of principle. Bad service and weird vibes from the staff like you should be grateful to be there. Plus overpriced below average drinks - $17 for a michelada is crazy. read more

If you want to pay an extra 6% surcharge + overpriced drinks/food just to have view (btw, it's free from the bench across the street) & attitude from condescending hostesses. The hummus comes with a good-sized bowl of mediocre hummus, but only a couple pieces of naan - so when the offer more naan- it's a surcharge. Drinks were fine, but there's a 6% surcharge just for existing and if you want anything extra they don't give a shit. So, save your money and go for a walk on the beach and go across the street to "surf club." read more

Good food and wonderful view, BUT, they over charged us (they did credit us the difference once we pointed it out) and beware- they charge an additional 6% service charge on all bills to off set the wage increase. It is written in fine print on the menu, but it still caught us off guard. Add it all up, and we will pick a different restaurant next time. read more

Let me start off by saying that the view is great. However, being served here means you're gonna feel like a task rather than an actual person. Not sure why that is. The bartender had a very bad attitude. I came in with my friend who owns a restaurant and I am a bar manager. The place looks nice but the bartender really put me off. He was very arrogant and just a real dick. I will not be back. He put such a sour taste in my mouth. I guess Ocean Beach where we live is much more laid back then here. read more

Last night I hosted an event here for my MeetUp Fun Diego Ladies group. We attended the Soirée Blanche gala, which was an all-white party in celebration of Labor Day and the end of summer. There was live music and a DJ on the rooftop of the Mission Pacific Beach Resort. We ordered drinks and appetizers and had a wonderful time. The sunset view was spectacular! Service was a bit slow due to the large crowd, but we enjoyed each other's company while we waited for our food and drinks. We also visited the Photo Booth quite a number of times! read more

I've visited The Rooftop Bar at the Mission Pacific Hotel many times. The vibe of this place is so different than most places in Oceanside and I think that's why they do so well. The bar is elevated 7 floors overlooking the beach. We visited for my friends birthday and with our reservation, we asked for a table by the edge. When we arrived they accommodated us to a great table right next to the glass. We started off with a few cocktails which are as good as they always are. The cocktails here taste amazing and you can tell the mixologist took the necessary time to create them. The Stonesteps is my favorite cocktail. For food we ordered Oysters, Whipped Feta Dip, Carrot Hummus, and the Grilled Artichokes. The birthday girl loves oysters and the mixture of the cucumber mignonette and hot sauce is perfecto. Fresh and not too large as I like them. The Whipped Feta Dip is served with pita and an assortment of vegetables. This dip is damn good and I'm not usually a feta guy. The Carrot Hummus was a little underwhelming in flavor, but the idea is there. I wouldn't personally order it again. The Grilled Artichokes are so damn good. They aren't the usually artichokes we eat in America, but the Italian version. You can eat the whole thing with the stem and when you mix it with the aioli it is tasty. Highly recommend if you like artichokes. They ended us with a round of birthday shots for the birthday girl. They were some sorta coconut papaya tequila shots which were damn tasty. If you come here on a weekend, they have a DJ playing and it makes it all spin together. The ambiance, food, and drinks are on point. My review is a 9/10. read more

I can make this short. Should have been five stars. Drinks fantastic. Service was outstanding. Atmos was superb. Okay so why not five stars? The menus are out of date so when we went to order most of the drinks we wanted were not available. How is this even possible? Just an annoyance, but shows bad process on the office to let that happen. The music, while great, was so loud we were yelling at each other and it was hard to just talk with our friends. So dialing it back even slightly would have been good. It's a nice place and they sure know how to make some killer drinks. read more

Service, drinks and food was on par. It was such a beautiful day in Oceanside. Located in the middle of the bustle. We went on a Saturday which happened to have the 5k and Iron Man race. Luckily we made reservations. Party of 5. We got there 30 minutes before our reservations and immediately were seated. We never felt rushed and had about three or four rounds of drinks with our food. Our Waiter was friendly and helpful recommending food and tasty cocktails. He always had an uplifting attitude and attention to detail. Will definitely come back here again. read more

If you're looking to starve to death while dealing with young turds for servers, look no further. You know this place needs work when even security tells you sometimes the service really sucks. There is absolutely no structure to the set up of this bar/pool. All the tables have "reserved" seating and for hotel guests it's a big disappointment because there's no sign or pre warning these are prebooked. Additionally service was painfully slow, it's a holiday weekend and there's..... 2 servers working. Forgot our drinks, and whipped feta came out with cold stale bread while the party next to us got multiple drinks. The manager should've helped out a bit with how bad service was, not a good look. For staying guests this bar needs some work with service. It's understandable it's busy but there's no excuse for rude staff for the waitress who acted as if we were ruining her whole day by asking how and if tables were reserved. Second security guard was confused and abrupt and it felt off putting when asked if we were guests here, to use the pool. Overall needs a huge overhaul in knowledge and experience in service to execute the caliber of what it should be. read more

If I could describe this place in one word, it would be stunning! This gorgeous hotel rooftop bar overlooks Oceanside pier and makes for a perfect spot to hangout, grab a bite, or to get some work done during the day. My friends and I came around 3pm on a Friday and were seated at one of their lower tables with sofa/cushion seating. I got a virgin pina colada which was so refreshing on a beautiful sunny SoCal day.
