My boyfriend Chris and I hung out here for a few hours, the view was amazing and the location is great. We didn't eat a full meal because we were hoping for some of the stuff on their old menu. Our server was very attentive and on top of our drinks at all times. Even though we didn't order much he encouraged us to hang out and enjoy our time, which is rare and extremely appreciated!!!! I definitely say you should check this place out, if you like sea food, drinks, and a great view!! Reservations are encouraged, but call in advance without to make sure they can seat you. read more

the ambience at this rooftop restaurant is insane. i would recommend coming during sunset. with that being said, there are some options when it comes to food but i would say ambience is definitely better. i tried the chicken sandwich and the steak frites. the portions were pretty good and it was overall very very filling. the fries were super crispy and thin and the chimichurri sauce was good. although it wasn't the best in terms of food i would come back for small bites and drinks. read more

The view is fantastic here! Locals, tourists, everyone! We had the sangria, some champagne, and some wine. We had a party of 14, weren't able to accommodate us all at one table, but we were at 3 different tables. Had to have a different check at each table, and then had a hard time splitting the charges. All good though. We had tons of apps, the shrimp, hummus, salads, veggies. Parking is metered out in front. You're only able to stay at a table for 90 mins... This was my 5th or 6th time- I don't think I've ever gotten kicked out for going over the time limit.. read more

Zero stars if I could. Called about 3 weeks ago for a reservation on Saturday 4/26. It was a very special occasion and when we arrived we were informed they wouldn't be opening up that night. I live over an hr away. Never did they call or email me to inform me that they wouldn't open and I called several times to double check (because of the weather) and they never answered or call me back. Tried going to another restaurant in the area and of course it was impossible to find somewhere to eat as a walk in on a Saturday evening. Ruined our night completely!!! Only explanation that I was given was that the lead was in vacation. Okay??!! Horrible service. read more

We wanted a quick getaway and decided on La Casa del Camino... up top??? The Rooftop Lounge did NOT disappoint!!! We didn't have reservations for next to the railing but our view was still insane. Appetizers were incredible AND my 13 year old daughter was very comfortable. She had some fun non-alcoholic drinks. I'm sure as the night moved on, it would be less appealing to her, but for sunset? We all loved it. Our server was VERY knowledgeable about various drinks so we tried some new things... definitely plan on a return visit read more

We went for happy hour but apparently it's until next month ? The food was expensive for its taste honestly. I got the seafood pasta for $34 but ended up taking it home and seasoning it myself haha!! Stopped in to the rooftop lounge for a quick lunch with a great view. The patio was a little cool with the wind blowing but the view was worth it. The service is OK and your drinks come out fairly fast. Our food order came out fairly fast as we enjoyed our drink with the great Ocean view. They have heaters on the patio to keep you warm when it is cold like today. We have also had the opportunity to enjoy their blankets that they provide in the evening. Let me tell you if you're looking for a romantic entertaining evening this is the place to be. read more

Went for a nice 4-mile hike at crystal cove state park that's just north of laguna. We searched rooftop bar on Yelp and this was the first result. Great view, cold beer, incredible mixed drinks, and best of all the smash burger. I could have stayed all day. This place could be addictive so try at your own risk. read more

I was visiting from the Bay Area and my OC friends had reservations for us at K'ya downstairs at the La Casa del Camino hotel. We were a bit early for dinner so we headed to the rooftop to check out the lounge. Wow, it was an impressive view of the ocean from Laguna Beach sipping on our mojitos. This spots reminds me of High Rooftop Lounge in Venice. Wish the weather in SF cooperated then we can have these lounges by the Cliff House or Beach Chalet. There was a wedding party happening and the place was packed. My friends and I were able to get a table on the other side of the bar near the server entrance and enjoyed our cocktails. After soaking in the views, we were able to bring out drinks down to K'ya to enjoy while we looked over their menu. A great spot for any first timer in Laguna to get that sample of OC life. read more

Always a favorite and tonight was no different! Great food and great service once again. Tonight we ordered the Spicy Fish & Chips, Thai Chicken Salad and The Hot Chicken Sandwich. From the bar we enjoyed a berry mojito, an Old Fashion and a Cadillac. All 3 of us were so happy with our entrees and loved the cocktails. Our server was great as well. Make sure you make a Resie as this place books up especially when the weather is nice. No valet but actually pretty easy to find street parking nearby. You'll be sorry if you visit Laguna without stopping here for a meal at Sunset! read more

With beautiful sunset views, The Rooftop seems to be a Laguna Beach staple for many. Located on the top of La Casa del Camino, there is no valet but plenty of metered street parking if you can grab a spot when someone is leaving. The set up is seat yourself and there aren't enough tables for the usual demand, so there is a bit of "vulturing" going on as far as people lurking next to your table in order to snag it the minute you get up to go. Definitely bring a sweater or jacket because it gets very breezy and a bit chilly in the afternoon (but they do offer blankets if you need one). The menu is very limited (a whopping 6 lunch items) and doesn't offer vegetarian or vegan options, with the exception of chips and guac or hummus and tapenade. They do indicate gluten free, dairy free and raw items, however. The food and drinks are just average, as are the drinks . . . but you can't beat the view. *Also pet friendly read more

Stopped in 4th of July weekend and had a great experience. The hostess was friendly, bar staff was attentive and my Server Payton went above and beyond. She was attentive, and very helpful. Johnathan was our server and was super nice. Helped us make our makeshift mimosas (pama pomegranate/bubbles) happen and was genuinely sweet. We had a great view (probably not ever going to happen again on a Sunday at 1pm but it was the Sunday after thanksgiving so everyone was probably home) and it was warm. I had a light jacket just in case and it came in handy. The brunch was wonderful and prices were as to be expected for an ocean view. ($18 drinks/$28 meals) Then we sat at the bar to watch the football game after and Luke made a great martini! Would highly recommend! read more

Beautiful rooftop. Definitely kind of congested, but there's really no rooftop in Laguna that's spacious. There are stunning views of the coast, but you can really only see them if you are seated at a table up against the glass. I was at the bar literally at the entrance of the rooftop and couldn't see much. The drinks are great but damn they are expensive. $50 for 2 drinks read more

When we walked up, we were kindly greeted by the hostess and even without a reservation we were sat right away with an awesome view. As if it could t get any better than that, our server Phillip was SO incredible. He was so nice, had great suggestions, and was the perfect amount of attentiveness. Came here for birthday dinner and thought it would be a great space for food and the view after reading several other reviews. We had a table of 6 and were seated right at the corner of the deck. The hot sun was beaming on us and we couldn't have an umbrella open as they said it was broken. The view was nice but our silverware and plates were dirty and loose hairs on them. We ordered some soft drinks and a couple apps, the fried calamari and the chicken wings. The fried calamari was nothing special and in fact it was concerning that there was a piece of plastic in one of them. Additionally the wings looked good but the flavor tasted like concrete. Still keeping a positive mindset, we ordered entrees. Steak frites, duck tostada, caesar salad, and burger. Everything looked great when it was presented, however we were pretty digusted when there was a hair in one of a party's burger and one of the steaks were practically raw. We notified the waiter and asked for a new burger in which they brought over but left it on the bill. I made these reservations online and added a note about celebrating a birthday and also notified the host and waiter. They were kind to bring over a slice of cheesecake but didn't sing or anything. As we were about to dig in, there were more loose hairs on the plate and on the cheesecake. I was taken aback by how horrid the quality was here. read more

If you're looking for a beautiful view and an intimate dining option you've found it. The Rooftop Lounge is located inside the hotel and has an amazing view with a small menu selection. I ordered the avocado toast, since i'm a vegetarian (they also had a veggie omelette) and it was super good. My only gripe was that it wasn't totally filling, for me. The service was okay. Our server was taking care of a good handful of tables and our food came out later than it should have. The table next to us, who ordered after us, received their food before us. He sat chatting with the other servers at the bar, leaving empty glasses and empty plates on the table. We had to flag him to come back to fill water. Having been myself in the service industry for years, my biggest pet peeve is when servers sit and chat where you can see them, and when they do come, they don't do a sweep and take care of things on the table. We had to put our empty glasses and trash on a side table. It was weird. The bolognese had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly tomato and onion. I've been to Argentina. Meat is a staple. Also weird. We ordered dessert and after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the server came back and told us they were missing crucial ingredients to make it. The owner came back at the end and was really gracious, but all in all, I think the execution was lacking. The service was not great. The food was 3.5/5 I love to support small business, perhaps we will try again another night.

There was practically no service. We had to walk over each time to ask for snacks and even had to walk to the bar to pay our bill since she never collected the check and was no where to be found. The worst part of the experience is we mentioned our request to close out our tab to a manager (after 25 minutes of waiting for the waitress to come by and collect our card) -- he was unfortunately just as aloof and just said "ok we will close out" and walked away, without addressing the issue at hand. The ritz and monarch has been much superior in overall service. You should take your business to the other resorts nearby instead of this place.

We immediately called the restaurant and were told that a manager would contact us the following day to resolve the issue. We never received that call, so my husband had to follow up himself. Even after explaining that the charge was clearly not ours, we were told we would have to wait while they determined whose bill it actually belonged to. The restaurant made the mistake, yet instead of reversing the incorrect charge immediately, they expected us to wait while they sorted out their own billing error. As a result, we had to put our credit card on hold and spend a large part of our afternoon on the phone trying to resolve an issue that should never have been our responsibility. It's unfortunate because our anniversary dinner was otherwise a great experience. However, the lack of urgency and poor customer service in handling such a significant billing error overshadowed the evening. Because of how this situation was handled, we will not be returning.

On this day, our server Edgar went out of his way to deliver outstanding service. My husband asked for something only on the weekday menu and Edgar made it happen - Bravo! He also suggested one of the juices (the carrot and tumeric) and offered a sample so we could try it first (it was delicious). Awesome! That cinnamon roll is the size of a dinner plate, so we split it 3 ways (could have easily served four). The cream cheese frosting isn't overly sweet, so when paired with the candied bacon and maple syrup, it balances out nicely. Yum! Edgar kept my coffee cup full and made sure we didn't need anything. The ceviche is OUTSTANDING. Light chips, fresh fish, expertly seasoned. The addition of the pickled mustard seeds on top add something unique to the flavor profile, so much so that we were googling how to pickle mustard seeds ourselves. Some of the best ceviche we've ever had (and we've had a lot). Could be spicier, but delicious. So the food and service are great - did I mention the view? Sitting on the patio, you overlook a serene canyon and their golf course, and feel like you're in a completely different space. It's so beautiful, peaceful, open, and lush. I could sit on that patio and eat cinnamon rolls and drink my neverending coffee all day long. The ocean-facing restaurants get all the attention in this town. This hidden gem deserves more attention, for sure.
