When you've got worries, all the colourful paintings and sculptures seem to help, I know Down Canyon Road".. After a fun RailRunner Train trip north.. We strolled down the enjoyable Canyon Road to the "TeaHouse".. After waiting in line behind 4 other parties, who had a similar reservation time as we did?!?.. We were crammed, at the end of a table, very close to a party sitting next to us outdoors. It was difficult to relax, with half of ourselves and our food in the Sun.. We drank delicious glasses of "White Wine"... We shared plates of a "Crispy Chicken Sandwich" on toasted bread w. a "Pear & Brie Salad" & a side dish of "Handcut Fried Potato Slices w. Chili-Cheese Dip".. Our food was quite tasty & nicely split for us.. Thank You TeaHouse Mgmt. Team..:) If TeaHouse's outdoor tables, were better shaded, this lunch meal would have been much more appreciated.. I had lunch here on a weekday while visiting my good friend who lives in Santa Fe, and it was packed. We sat outside on their beautiful patio and our server was friendly, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. I was excited to see so many gluten free items on the menu and initially had difficulty deciding what to order. I had the quiche lorraine and an iced tea. It was such a novelty for me to eat quiche and it tasted amazing. The salad they served with it was refreshing. The iced tea was a bit bitter for my taste, however, it tasted fine with a little bit of sugar. My friend got the pistachio matcha and it was also less sweet than the typical matcha, but I thought it was superior. Overall, the food, ambiance, and overall experience were top notch. This adorable restaurant was the final meal of our recent girls trip, right on the corner of palace and canyon road. The food was delicious and the staff super attentive! We had a mishap when the server spilled coffee on 2 of our party, but it was a complete accident and they went above and beyond to remedy the situation. Even though it's a teahouse, the coffees were amazing. Mushroom Tarragon soup and Fig Burrata starter each earn five stars, as did the Cubano sandwich. Service was a bit slow, and the patio was a bit dusty, but we will definitely be back the next time we're in town. read more

Brought two friends for cocktails. Not nearly enough bread is served with the $18 burrata appetizer, so we requested more and were unreasonably charged $5 for these 3 pieces. Ridiculous. Still a fan of the food, but if they're going to keep charging this much, the plate ratios need to be checked, and the staff need to be trained. Reservations in advance recommended. read more

So disappointed in my first visit since third place changed hands. No art at all on the blank walls... and very "echo-y". Service was OK. Except the person who took my call before we came...I asked about a wait &she said "at the moment" there was no wait. I didn't think to ask about reservations because they had NEVER taken them in the past.... when we got there it was getting packed &several empty tables had "Reserved" signs on them. I took 3 friends. We didn't even eat the "fried chicken" on our (smaller than "normal") because it was SO over-fried it was hard and there was minimal chicken in all the breading. (They did take this of our bill.) The main reason we is because we loved the scones last time we were here -- these were so undercooked they were soggy. The only good part were the teas and the fried potato slices one of us got. I'll be back only for tea & the live music. Very sad. The end of an icon for me. read more

What an absolutely lovely spot. We were welcomed in upon arrival and seated underneath a shady umbrella. We found the menu to be diverse with plenty of options for those who may be gluten- free. Service was efficient and friendly. I ordered a latte special, which was delicious. My friend enjoyed some tea. We both loved our meals. I tried the balsamic mushrooms, which i expected to have more balsamic taste, but they were really good. We really liked the poached pears with honey, walnuts, and truffle cheese as an appetizer. We came here for restaurant week since we'd never been before and they had a lunch menu. It's a very cute place with some outdoor seating. We sat indoors which turned out to be a lot more spacious than I expected. The service was great and our server gave is plenty of time to review the menu and answered all our questions. The food was delicious and I can't believe I've never been here before. I had the roasted carrot and beet salad and it was quite large and could have been a meal in and of itself. My main was the red chile and tomato mussels. Imagine a hearty tomato soup with red chile, this is a pretty close description. There were large chunks of tomatoes in it and plenty of good red chile flavor to make it delicious. Rounding out the three course serving was the key lime pie which was a wonderful way to round out the meal. For my beverage I tried the Sante Fe Fog (variant on the London Fog) and the menu described that tea perfectly. All in all this was a great experience. One caveat is that we had a reservation, but there was a lot of confusion around the host stand - people seem to just show up and stand in line and no one checks you in or anything so I pretty much had to walk to the front of the line and wait around a while until someone showed up to grab the next group in line to check myself in. Super relaxing spot to spend a morning. We sat outside which gave chill backyard patio vibes. The avocado toast was solid. I ordered the Bombay chai as my drink which I also thought was solid. I got the lavender London fog to-go, and that was really really refreshing & delicious. I wish I got two lol. Service was good, but our server seemed to keep pestering to order when we weren't yet ready. The hostesses at the front were really friendly. Food is pretty good but service leaves much to be decided. We had a 10:30 reservation. We were seated and left to decide our food order for about 10 minutes after placing drink orders. I went to order quiche and a scone and was told, after having been there for about 20 minutes, that they were out of quiche and scones. Then I had to quickly decide on another order. Not sure why you wouldn't let us know earlier that you were out of menu items. Our server disappeared for long periods. I order a delicious $10 cup of tea but it took forever to get a waiter to bring me a refill of hot water. The food was mostly good although the salad dressing was just oil. I was a little concerned about reviews regarding service. I rarely ever go out to eat but this was a special occasion. It was AWESOME!!!!! 9am on a Sunday, no problem parking. Every employee greeted us, what waitress was absolutely fantastic. She was sooooo cool. Food came out quick and was delicious. My friend had the chicken and waffles. I will be back to have those, they looked yummy and per my friend, they were. I had the Eggs benedict. I should have asked to substitute the salad for potatoes, my next time. When in town, I enjoy coming here. They have a great dog friendly patio. Service is quick. For this last visit, I had the lavender latte. It had a smooth taste but not much lavender. We have enjoyed the teahouse for many years but this visit was disappointing. We were there for Saturday brunch so we knew there would be a wait, but it was over 45 minutes for my daughter to finally get her drink after being seated and ordering. She was finished with her breakfast when brought. We also had to ask for water multiple times. I had had surgery the day before so I only ordered a cup of mushroom soup, which was delicious, and my mother asked if I wanted to taste her Brie sandwich. I had one bite and put it back on her plate. When bill came, we were charged a split charge for a sandwich which was NOT split, just a bite, no apology for extreme delay for Bloody Mary and when I asked waitress about split charge she said "look at the menu". When I told her I had ordered my own order she shrugged and set "thanks for feedback". NOT what I expected and honestly no customer service. I never give a negative review but you can do better. OMG - another TDF local spot in Santa Fe! Excellent, efficient service and very helpful. A tea menu that reminds me of a Cheesecake Factory menu (a place I throughly LOATHE!). My friend had the scone of the day that came with coddled cream and some lemon curd, along with a fancy hot tea. She loved it! I had the mushroom Benedict - holy cow, delish! Probably the MOST PERFECT BENEDICT I HAVE EVER EATEN. Comes with a lovely house salad as the side. I recommend the spicy hollandaise sauce - don't worry...it isn't super spicy. I told them I was a first timer in all regards to ordering tea out. They asked me what flavors I enjoyed and if I liked sweet or creaminess. We live in Houston and drove from Taos to Santa Fe to visit the art event on Canyon Road. It was a warm day so we stopped at the Teahouse for coffee and root beer. We sat outside. The sun was hitting me directly so I moved my chair slightly to get more shade. One of my chair's leg sunk into a sinkhole and I fell sideways into the ground and my right hip hit a rock. It really hurt and got a bruise. Everybody saw me fall and the lady next to me told me that the same thing happened to her and the lady who sat on my chair before me. I told our waitress what happened and she told her manager. The manager came over and talked to me and the lady who said the same thing happened to her and another lady. The manager just touched the ground with her foot and put 2 small rocks by it. As if that would fix the issue. She said I am sorry and took off even though I told her I injured my hip. No discount and the check was brought over full price. This place seems to be waiting for a lawsuit. Btw, the guy that was with me is a lawyer. This place needs to do more than just say I am sorry and place 2 small rocks by the sinkhole. Incredibly irresponsible and not caring. read more

The service was indifferent and scarcely perceptible-perhaps offer self order if you can't find people who want to wait tables. People seated 10 min after us received their entire order before we received our drinks. Which arrived 15 minutes after our food. Which took 35 minutes and the place was 1/3 full. Had to seek out our waiter twice to see what was taking so long. It was January (quiet season - but I've been here in the winter before) and something has happened to my beloved place not attributable to the season-it is sad and forlorn. I hope they find a way to make things right, as based on my experience and other reviews, something needs to change here. Very sad. read more

My friend enjoys trying Eggs Benedict everywhere she goes and liked hers well enough, though said it wasn't outstanding. Yes, after 30 minutes I asked the waiter to check on my order, quiche Florentine. When he finally brought it out, it was quiche Lorraine, with bacon as one of the ingredients, which I cannot eat. I had to flag down another server to reject the food, and my server came and offered to replace my order with an omelette. I suspect they had run out of quiche Florentine. Finally, at 140, I received my omelette. They comped the entree, but not my drink (iced tea). If I wasn't so hungry I would have left after the wrong entree was received. So well seasoned and the best thing we had for lunch. The croissant was so soft and filled with thick ube cream. The banh mi and salad was also very good. We all got iced teas and an apricot fog. This place may have scored high with a lot of people, but I see it was just average. I've been to many tea houses where they at least serve the tea in a nice teapot with hot water. My tea came in a drinking glass. I had to request more hot water, they usually just bring it; For five dollars? And I had a breakfast bowl, which was very lackluster. It came with about 1/4 of a cup of Farro, one cup of arugula, a sprinkle of pinenuts, some warmed tofu, avocado and two poached eggs. My bill is $23. For what I don't know. My friend had a Panini with eggplant. She said it was rather bland. It was $19 plus $5 more for a small latte. It all seems overpriced for simple underwhelming basic food. read more

Food and drink was good, once we got it. I don't think the issue here is with the servers, but a mismatch of the bar and kitchen capacity and how many tables they want to fill. Once we were seated we started hearing the tables around us talking about how long they had been waiting - so why were we seated? They need to slow the reservation system and walk-ins, and leave tables empty until they figure how many customers they can responsibly serve. We waited 45 min for drinks, another hour for food. read more

A cute stop for a casual lunch. After walking around all morning, the Teahouse was a great spot to rest and refresh. Parking: There were several free parking spots specifically designated for the Teahouse by the entrance. There also is a paid lot right next door. It's possible to also find street parking if you're willing to walk a bit to the restaurant. Pricing: The prices were on the higher end for what they offered in my opinion, but not way outside of budget. Food: The food was really tasty and fresh! They were definitely heavy handed with the greens and salads which was a pleasant surprise. Tea: I love tea and they had a whole separate tea menu! It was very extensive and included a wide variety. They are also able to make any tea into an iced option which is perfect for a hot day. Wait time: We arrived for lunch on a Monday right about noon/1pm and they seemed to be full! That being said, the tables turned over quickly and we waited less than 10 minutes for a 4 top. Service: Our server was very polite and able to give great recommendations from the menu. That being said, service was very slow... it took forever for some one to come take our orders, we never were able to get drink refills or order more drinks, and we gathered all our cash to pay so we didn't have to continue to wait for a card to be processed when the bill came. This is one of the main reasons i gave a lower rating. Worth noting: The patio is dog friendly ! They also include little fans on each table to fend off the flies which was great. read more

Loved the apricot tea latte, the mango sparkling tea, the smoky hazelnut latte. Outstanding egg and sausage and green chile croissant sandwich. Heirloom sliced tomatoes on the side were perfect. Grilled veggie sandwich we loved and also the roasted carrot and beet salad but really should put more carrots on.
