I don't give many 5 stars because good food is just not enough to rate 5/5. Let me rave first about a young man named Devon (devin?) who greeted us and served us when we first entered. So if management of reading this; you've got a solid team member and retain him. They say character is how you act when no one is looking... so we observed him treat a guy who walked in (who was a bit out of sorts...) humanely and kindly. He escorted him out and spoke to him without judgement. Because of COVID-19, staff was short-handed. He was the only server and host there. We know because we asked about how business was since Spokane lifted its mandate. He was truthful and genuine but never complained once about how hard it has been. He enjoyed to work and cared. How's the food? EVERYONE will tell you the portions are large. I'm telling you the portions are ENORMOUS haha. Plenty to take back to the hotel or back home. And it's pretty damn good. Even the appetizers are big enough to share (but shared plates between people incur a $1 extra charge). Location? Ideal and walking distance to pretty much everything in downtown Rover park area. Kid friendly? Yes. There is a bar to watch sports that is separated from a smaller dining area. Parking? Not sure. We walked from our hotel. Caveat: this is not a dress up place. The breakfast here was pretty unbelievable. One of the employees at the Marriott had suggested that we walk the 4-5 blocks to eat here and it didn't disappoint. The coffee was great and after ordering the biscuits and gravy as the waiter recommended I was floored. It's obvious the biscuit are made from scratch. The bacon was a thick cut and the eggs were grilled to perfection. My daughter ordered the pancakes and they were probably some of the greatest pancakes I've ever had. Sadly the service at this place has declined massively. Me and my boyfriend used to be regulars. I don't know if the staff has changed or if its the pandemic.... But i was very disappointed with Satellite this time. We waited 45 minutes for our food (which was one of few times we saw our waiter at all) never got to order drinks, and our orders were cold. And I mean cold, cold. I asked the server if it was supposed to be cold as a hint and he asked the chef and then bought it back to me saying just the biscuits are served cold and thats what i was tasting... but so was the bacon, gravy and eggs. If a customer says their food is cold just warm it up, dont bring a cold plate back to them. I took my food home in a box (that I had to ask for 3 times) to microwave.
