Found this gem by Yelp reviews. Enjoyed super friendly and helpful staff plus a great meatloaf lunch special and a bread pudding in the top 3 ever had. The brown gravy on the meatloaf was tasty and not overly salty and no hint of the fake taste I dislike. Also enjoyed the coconut pie. We live in Lake St Louis, but today was our first experience at The Scrambler House. I can't remember what she had, prolly cause I was so delighted with my "Hock and Grits". Best grits I have ever had. Their goat cheese spinach and bacon Omelet was a Home run! My son loved the pancakes, which were huge, as well!

A new favorite! Delicious! I've visited three times in the past month and all were great. I love that you walk in and seat yourself. The decor is hip and atmosphere is laid back. I recommend ordering "The King" (french toast with bananas, peanut butter & bacon). It is mouthwatering and the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Absolutely amazing and well worth that wait. We got the Slinger and the Hot Mess and shared. I genuinely don't know which was better. Debbie took care of us and made sure we were well taken care of, even when one order came with the wrong potatoes she was quick to make sure the right was were out right after! A lot of young workers wondering around as if they were lost on what to do. We waited on an omelet and a pork tenderloin ( the special) for 45 minutes. It is less than a 10-minute drive from my home to this newish breakfast place, and consensus of reviewers seems to be that the food is good but that speed of getting service is not. Mid-morning on a Tuesday. At most a third of the tables occupied. Waitress brought water and menu immediately; I already knew I wanted the Ultimate Omelet w/potatoes. I'll swear I had the food in no more than 10 minutes, and it was excellent! Only detraction was the cold toast, stiff as a board. Waitress was excellent. Of course, I shall return to sample other menu items. . . . I wish they would add the Chesapeake Benedict to the regular menu, rather than as only an occasional special of the day. read more

We found this place on Yelp while traveling back home via I-70. When traveling, we always try to find places to eat that we don't have access to in Ohio and this place definitely lived up to the reviews. It's a holiday and they were very busy. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated and about 30 minutes for our food to come out. Our server was very friendly and kept my water and coffee full. She apologized several times for things being so hectic. The food was cooked to order and everything a delicious, especially the "home fries" (real fried potatoes), and French toast. We'll definitely keep this on our places to visit when we return to Missouri. read more

If I could give a zero on this restaurant and staff I would have loved to. An order was placed for eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce. When they slammed my plate down in front of me I started to get upset. Then after trying my food the sauce was so sour tasting I couldn't finish my bite. After telling our waitress the concern and how I'd like to switch my order she took my plate and said "well I'll see what I can do, we don't normally switch it out". When she came back she then said, "we went ahead and took it off your bill and making the new order now". I then said to her "I wasn't looking for a free meal, I just wanted to replace it". I was told by waitress "don't worry about the kitchen they get really crabby with stuff like that". So they don't swap food but will take it off your bill (hopefully) if you catch the right day/person. This was my very first experience and I'll never come back. Plates and cups are slammed down in front of you, heaven forbid manners when I say thank you. Got nasty stares and got to acknowledge her back after rudely walking off. With being in the industry I don't complain ever!!!!!! ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE!!! read more

The service is good, friendly staff, the glasses and flatware are actually clean and this seems to be a problem at most restaurants we've visited. Previewed the menu and they have the traditional breakfast diner foods. In addition, they also serve a Slinger. Ordered it today and it was good. Not great. However, I think my pallette is used to the Courtesy Diner slinger and the Scrambler House is much closer than Hampton Ave/Hwy 40. Like I said, it was still good. One note to ownership is that a slinger should be served with toast to "sop" up the goodness on the plate. Overall a good experience. I will be back. read more
