The food was really good. We ordered the combo that came with 2 sides (fries, red beans & rice), fish (red snapper) shrimp, and crab legs with a large drink cost less than $70. The shrimp & red snapper was seasoned well. The fish had a nice crunch. We really enjoyed the fries too. They were seasoned well, had a good crunch on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They gave us garlic butter sauce which was a great dipping sauce. I really wanted to give this place a 3 stars due to the things listed below. But they made up for it due to the food being so delicious. It was so good we will come back again but we will place our order over the phone next time. Also it's best to call to see what's available before ordering. Here are the things I hope they will improve on to make their business better going forward. 1. Tell customers as soon as they walk in what is no longer available for the day. Each time I was asked what do I want, I would say, only to be disappointed and hear that it wasn't available. Being up front with the customer will elevate the frustration when ordering. Everything I came here for they were out of (garlic butter rice, sweet tea, and cat fish). We were looking for a place that had good catfish. 2. We understand the long wait due to the food being cooked fresh but waiting 56min to get our food seems out of the ordinary. And if this is ordinary for this business, it should be brought to the customers attention of the time frame ("your order will be ready in about 45min"). We sat there for almost 1hr. Everything was just toooo good! We got shrimp po boy, then a few of the big packages that basically included everything and THEN a crab boil bag thingie with their sauce ( garlic and lemon pepper mix) no pictures . I had a craving for crab legs but I wanted some different so I tried fried crab legs along with the fries shrimp, the waffle fries, the amazing greens, that will make you slap somebody for being so good! I had lunch here (2-20-2020) from 1:30-3pm. Staff: They smile, they greet you, they're happy to see you and you can feel the genuine love from everyone as soon as you enter the door. My wife was right. She said, " I know you love this place but it's Sunday and you know how we are about opening on time. Let's get food from somewhere else so we can watch the Super Bowl on time and you won't be mad." Not me. I'm mr positive. So I ignored her advice. I decided to come to my favorite seafood place at 11am Because, you know, that's what time it's supposed to open. But it was still closed. Waited until 11:15 and we left. I think to myself, "No big deal, people are late sometimes, it happens." Glass still half full. We can't go home because we live about 40 minutes away. So we go by Beverly Hills to walk around and kill some time and we call in our order about 12pm. And they tell me, " We won't have snow crab for an hour." A little frustrating but no big deal, I need the exercise anyway so I'll just walk some more. So we paid for our order over the phone and thought it'd be ready by 1:30 because when us people say 1pm, we really mean 130-2. She also said she'd call us back but there was no phone call. We tried calling to make sure that the order was ready. It kept going to voicemail, so I'm thinking to myself, "Man these people must be in there working HARD because it's super bowl Sunday. By the time we get there we probably won't even be able to find a parking spot" I pull up ready to drive as defensive as possible. Extra grip on the steering wheel and everything. I pull up....parking lot empty......okay cool must have just missed the rush. I go in at 2:30 and they say the crab just got there and it'll be another 15 minutes and to wait outside. .....Well, it's 3:10pm and I'm still waiting in the parking lot and writing this review. So we finally go in to pick up our food and there was no remorse. I would have even accepted a shameful face gesture. Couldn't get a "sorry about that", "here's a coupon for next time", "here's a free drink". ANYTHING would have been fine. They handed the food to us and we said nothing to each other. Oohhh and let me tell you about the traffic! Thank the dear lord we hit traffic on the way back home and missed the kick off. God knows how much I wanted to sit in traffic while the game was starting. I'll probably change my review in the future but not today. I ordered the 2pc BREAST STRIPS & fries combo along with a side of greens, a side of rice & vanilla cranberry cookies via postmates.... instead, the restaurant decided so give me 2 sides of rice & 2 extra pieces of chicken. The problem with that is: a.) They gave me fried WINGETTES that are of cheap ass quality, with that thick ass fatty stuff under the skin & the broken bones of the "flat" when I was trying to pull it apart figure out what it was. b.) I'm not a fan of chicken on the bone c.) I hate when I order online & the restaurant decides to substitute something I order. I ordered what I ordered for a reason. I rather them just cancel my entire order or call. They had time to write this raggedy ass note but couldn't call to ASK me if it's ok to substitute, if so what would I like??? d.) I love this place ! Found it while looking for a new seafood spot on Yelp. Be mindful that there can be a long wait. I'd also suggest that you follow their Instagram. There has been days when I call to place an order and but they're closed randomly. The wait is usally at least 20 mins and sometimes they sell out of food and close early. Besides that their food is DELICIOUS, seasoned perfectly, not stingy with their portion sizes and their po-boys are to die for. Oh and I cannot forgot the customer service. My second time visiting my order was taken by one of the chefs. He was very friendly and made us feel right at home. This place does not have the biggest eating area but it does have an intimate family vibe to it. Being that we are still in a pandemic I have not eaten there but the food is just as good to go. The pieces of fish are a nice size, they are actually pretty thick, in a good way. Lobster Mac was great as well, it even had a person who doesn't like seafood eating it. I also like the fact that they offer 2 types of fries, waffle or Cajun, and they're both good Since most items are being cooked to order, I would suggest calling in your order. The place is lovely but the food was subpar. we ordered the 4 piece catfish +2sides plates for my boyfriend and I. he got the fries and I was supposed to get green beans with potatoes but we both had fries in our platters. Also, the bag was really light. So that was odd. The coleslaw ce in this tiny lil container. (Not good portion) & there was 1 Hawaiin roll (not even 2) ‍ once I open the box these four little chicken strip looking things we're supposed to be the catfish and they were dry too (not like it was rush hour). I've been in LA for a short while now and it's been hard to find affordable AND tasty seafood spots, however The Seafood Xperience lived up to it's name from the beginning to end. I visited about 3 weeks ago. Being from the south, the appearance of the resturant told me the food was about to hit. I ordered the Fish & shrimp combo, with waffle fries, a side of hush puppies, and clam chowder since they called to say they were out of the crawfish soup. Chileeeeee this food was so well seasoned, prepared with technique and love- get into it because they both make a difference. I couldn't even stop to take a picture. I was truly having an Xperience. The fried catfish alone had my mouth watering. It was very flaky and tasty. The breading.... the breading.... the the breading is a big fat YESSSS!!! The shrimp- BIG! The chowder was clapping back. Hush puppies had me silent okay. I live about 20 minutes from the resturant so I threw my food in the oven when I got home to get it some extra heat. All I can say is I had to push my food away from me to keep from eating it all in one sitting. There's enough food to slip between two people or to remind yourself of how great of a decision you made when you go to heat up your leftover later. The wait was about 25-30 minutes. My food was hot, the establishment was clean, and the employees were friendly. I tried to come last nights but I was an hour too late. Woke up still thinking about this food! Ordered here twice.... Grew tired of ordering boiling crab so I tried something new. Sometime you'll come across hidden jewels that are hole-in-the-wall spots that have the most amazing food. This place was not one of them! I love some well seasoned crab legs, but geeze it was very very salty. The first time the food was really salty so I gave it almost a year out to see if anything had changed (if they listened to some of their customers Yelp reviews ) before I ordered again. No change in the high salt content. The food would actually be good if they could reduce the amount of salt in the seasoning. We waited here for over 45 mins. There was only two people ahead of us, and yet it still took that Long. When i finally got my plate, my lobster MAC was cold. Not even room temperature. I got up and stood in line. The cook noticed i was waiting in line with my Mac n cheese in my hand. He asked if i needed something and i told him that my food was cold. The second cook said with a slight rudeness to his voice "how is her food cold" at that point I'm beyond irritated because i waited almost a whole Hour for cold inedible food. Because of their shitty customer service, at that point i grabbed my entire plate and asked for a refund. They refused, so i took my food and left. Honestly that verified us wanting to come a second time before we go back home more! We ended up coming here twice in one week on our vacation. The food was nothing but delicious! This was my first time ordering from this place. Food looked good and it was a local small business. I ordered it from Postmates. The order took TWO HOURS to get to me. After it originally said 45min. The delivery driver said they didn't even start my order until he got there. They made him wait for over an hour for my order and I'm sure he was missing out on money because of their incompetence. After reading other reviews this seems to happen a lot here. This is a shame they don't have better management. If they can't support their walk-ins and calls they should NOT be on the delivery services! There were crackhead's congregating in the parking lot so I knew the food would be banging! The Food - They have flavor packed into every piece of seafood. It even re-heats well in the oven. I got the seafood experience which includes 2 snow crab clusters, 1 lobster tail, 7 jumbo shrimp and 5 pieces of fish with 3 sides (all the seafood is fried). The sides I chose were greens, potato salad and yellow rice. The greens were ok, not my fav though. The yellow rice tasted like saffron box rice that you find in your local grocery store and was flavorful but undercooked, my rice was crunchy as hell! The potato salad was gross, all I tasted was mayonnaise and no seasoning. The service- The cashier was friendly but did not give me the correct change. I politely mentioned it to her and she corrected the mistake (no biggie) I waited 50 mins for my food but was told the wait would only be 25 mins. Because my food took longer than promised they gave me a free drink. My bag was extremely heavy and they offered to carry it to my car for me (I let them!) Overall- All in All I will be back but I'm not interested in the sides at all and I will place my order and go run errands. read more
