I have some very mixed feelings about this place so far, but please don't let me ruin it for you. I definitely think everyone should give it a try. They have a variety of signature cocktails and obviously being a wine bar, a selection of wines. I personally was not thrilled with the wine list. I was expecting a larger variety and a better selection. The decor was very nice with couches and fire pits outside to enjoy the view of the harbor. Service was very slow. It took a while to put our drink order in and to get our check. Although the waitresses were very nice. We ordered the charcuterie board which had a nice variety of cheeses and meats and I loved the fact the server took the time to describe all the meats and cheeses on the board. It was well worth the 18.00. They offer a nice variety of appetizers including cheese fondue and both olive and avocado hummus. They say they have over 500+ expressions of liquor in addition to their wines, but when I asked for a Frangelico on the rocks as an after dinner drink, I was told they didn't have it. That was a bit surprising. They are new and I'm sure still working out some kinks. Definitely worth a try. I will be going back to try a few more of the food items, have got to try that chocolate hummus and see if there is a new selection of wines! read more

Update: I visited The Shaker and Vine again after originally going in June 2019. This time, our group enjoyed the wall of wines. It was my first experience with the card setup. We went to the sommelier and traded our credit card for one of the wine cards. These are used to run a tab for whatever you consume. They explained each step in detail so we were aware of what to expect. Each wine has 3 different size pours; a taste, a small glass and a large glass. Prices vary depending on the pour. The staff could not have been friendlier and every question we had was answered with ease. For apps we had the cheese fondu and for dinner most of us had the paninis. I had the blackberry, bacon and jalapeño and it was unbelievable! If you haven't stopped yet, you're missing out. The food, drinks, staff and ambiance are amazing. Check In ASAP! read more

Such a cool place!!! I wished I lived closer. The atmosphere is so cute with various different seating arrangements both inside and outside. The staff is very friendly; everyone I walked passed said hi or smiled at me. Our server Eric was great. We had the buffalo chicken dip. This place was amazing!! They have a great reservation system with a lot of options depending on how large your group is. The food was spectacular! We didn't try the drinks but they had a self serve wine bar along with a huge cocktail selection. We ordered a charcuterie board, figgy Iggy flatbread and spinach rose salad. The service here is phenomenal. The food is OK, but definitely doesn't hold a candle to the cocktails. But actually nothing could, except maybe the wine. My usual gripe with wine bars is that the cocktails are terrible. Here, the cocktails are really well done. Flavorful, vibrant, and not so strong that you feel like you'll be stumbling home after one of them. They are refined and tasteful, just like the setting. Wines by the glass are also delicious and they will happily offer suggestions on wines for you. They have different sizes and have also just re-opened their self-pour wine stations, closed since COVID. Decor is on point, and I was shocked at how comfortable I was outside on one of the muggiest nights in memory. There's a beautiful breeze and the tables aren't squished together. It was gorgeous. Like I said, the service is top notch. They really take care of you here. And for the prices, they better! read more

First and foremost let me just say that I LOVE the fact this is strictly 21+ only. And seeing parents throw a fit and give this place a bad review because they were turned away with a baby is annoying and unfair. There are dozens of family style places in the area. Knowing you will have a nice quiet meal is great. I hope the owner is never made to feel bad about this. Drinks were great, wide variety of beers and mixed drinks in addition to the wine, and the food is very good. My friend and I got the caprese app and flatbreads. Both very good. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. I have already shared this restaurant on many social media sites with like minded friends who enjoy a 21+ over place. Keep up the good work! read more

Gorgeous interior. Great vibe. Terrific service. Excellent food. Absolutely worth a trip. Tuna tataki was super fresh and delicious - loved the spicy hot wasabi served with it. Meatball flight was excellent - the General Tso's version was out of this world. Ravioli flight with lobster and cheese varieties was delicate and delicious. Chocolate fondue flight was a phenomenal end to the night. The wine wall was an adult playground - great selection and tons of fun to investigate and enjoy. Only complaints are that the charcuterie board was just ok (prosciutto cut too thick, olives had a funky taste, and the cheese selection was just ok), and they really need to stop the flow of freezing cold air every time the door to the patio opens. Overall though, fantastic addition to the Capital District dining scene and a must try. read more

First time here while visiting the Albany area. The setting is amazing, had an indoor table overlooking the patio and we must come back for a visit on the patio. Service staff top notch. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable with menu and beverages. She did not rush us yet checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything. Last and best was the food and beverages. Great menu options. Our party of 6 had flatbread, pastas and a Cobb salad. The portions were perfect, the meals were served hot and the salad was perfectly chilled. This place is excellent. I have stayed nearby dozens of times and have never gone in. There is a sign out front that says it is a self serve beer and wine bar and that did not sound appealing. As it turns out, while you can do self service, this is a full service restaurant, with an outdoor patio and fire places in cooler weather. The food options include a lot of share ables, such as charcuterie boards and fondue. I had the butternut squash ravioli and my dinner mate had the lobster ravioli; we both thoroughly enjoyed our selections. The wine list is extensive and our waitress, Hannah was very knowledgeable of everything on the menu. My only complaint is the drunk guy making a fool of himself, trying to make friends with the girls at the next table over and a waiter sat down and joined them, rather than recommend that the individual consider other diners. Aside from that, I recommend management modify the sign out front and keep delivering on a great menu. I will definitely be back again! (Sorry I didn't take pictures!) read more

I came here with my daughter this past Friday and had a great experience. The tuna appetizer and apple flatbread were both quite good, though the beer cheese was bland for my taste. We had several cocktails between us because we both love to try new combinations. The first round being so good, I asked for the bartender to surprise me for the second round - I had read on the website that this was a thing you could do as normally I wouldn't be so bold in a new restaurant. That drink was far and away the best of the lot, a whisky drink with aperol, raspberry, and some sort of spicy bitters. You can see how that combination could easily go awry, and I can attest as my efforts to recreate it were abysmal. Obviously they know what they are doing behind the bar. Service was efficient and friendly. No complaints at all. It was too chilly for the patio, but looking forward to trying it out when the warm weather returns. It looked delightful. read more

I highly recommend Shaker and Vine. It's got a great vibe. They have fire places and fire pits to enjoy the patio even if it's a little cool and a great sunset you can see looking out over the river. The drink menu has many options. Everyone in my party tried something different and they were all made perfectly with good flavor. They are also photo worthy. The food is good too. Lots of options! I had a flatbread pizza and it was cooked perfectly. It's also a convenient walk over to the casino from here so if your looking for a whole night out it's a great spot to check out. read more

This is a fabulous spot! I went for the first time for a dinner with coworkers and cannot wait to go back. The interior of this restaurant is beautiful - we sat in a raised corner booth and the outside was filled with tropical trees overlooking the water. The food was excellent and the portions were huge. The charcuterie was 10/10 and the Cobb salad was fresh and delicious. Our drinks were also excellent and I can't wait to go back to try their wine on tap! The service was phenomenal.
