This place is cute and cozy, the service was nice even though I came in close to closing, the server was very helpful. The food was delicious. I had a veggie skillet with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy I have to say are some of the best ive had to be honest.

I usually get a little concerned when I see a very large menu. When there are that many options, it can sometimes mean nothing really stands out and how can a chef/cook get so many things right? In this case, I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the chile verde omelet, and it was very good. It was flavorful and clearly something they do well. My server was very sweet and welcoming, which always matters to me. After I was seated, I was left alone for some time. It wasn't a big deal as I wasn't in a rush. As I mentioned, everyone was very friendly. If you are traveling through Jamestown, this place is worth a stop. It has a genuine local vibe and it feels like a spot the community truly supports.

Amazing food!! Do not pass this place up. You'll be very pleased. Great atmosphere, great service and the food again, is so delicious and cooked with love. Hands down, give it a try and you'll find yourself coming back to try the rest of their menu.

3 1/2 stars. Group of us stopped here on way home from a weekend trip. They have an awesome menu with a great variety of breakfast/lunch offerings (see my menu photos). You'll definitely find something to satisfy your hunger here! The four of us all had breakfast plates and they were all solid, but nothing spectacular to warrant a higher rating. Portion sizes were average. An interesting option on many plates is the "senior size" that is smaller (and costs less) compared to the standard offering. The service was great. There was lots of patrons on a Sunday morning, so that is a good indication that this is probably one of the better places in the small town to grab a bite to eat.

While walking in it looked decent from the outside but once I observed further it came off more like a diner vibe, not a restaurant. Also I was disappointed when I tried to go to the bathroom and there was only one with 4 people not including the flies down the hallway. I decided to sit back down and use my hand sanitizer. The food was sub par I will say my garlic fries were a 10/10 I got the pesto chicken sandwich I thought they sort of skimmed me on the chicken. The chili did not say there would be huge chunks of onion with little to no meat and it being more of a soup. Also my mom said her sandwich was way too salty along with her potatoes so that was disappointing. All and all the service was marginal although our server was very sweet, we were not greeted for quite sometime when there were no more than two other tables seated inside when we were already ready to order and everything. I don't usually go out and dine in Jamestown but I did hear they had some other cool spots. I recommend checking those ones out vs this one unfortunately because it does have potential so hopefully the staff can work on that.

Walked in and joined a party of 14, the seating was TIGHT. The hostess offered another table for our group but it really wouldn't have made that much of a difference as there were other patrons around/ not enough space. Portions are decently sized- one entree can be split and saved as leftovers for one person or split between two people. Prices are decent, nothing too overwhelming. Tried the pesto chicken sandwich with garlic fries. It was a good size (took half of the sandwich to go). My rating is based on my entire experience*** I will say the vibe of some of one servers was uncomfortable. An example, a server came to our table (which included a two families with children and other adults) and acknowledged a few of the children stating " oh they are so precious, I love seeing my blonde babies", there were non blonde and/or Caucasian children and adults sitting in our party. ODD. AWKWARD. but that tends to be the vibe In The small mountain towns of this area. read more

The Smoke is back! It now features more of a diner/cafe-style menu rather than the Tex-Mex mix I remember but it's still en fuego. Super friendly service and tasty food that arrived quickly left very little to be desired. I'll be back to try the huge looking breakfast menu. The tortilla soup was a surprise highlight and tastes almost exactly like it came from Wolfgang Puck's fast-casual restaurant. So good. If I could make a wish it would be for a few more tex-mex offerings for nostalgia's sake and because they are so good on a hot day. ¡Olé! read more

This place may be under new management, but I do no recommend it. The service is despicable. I can't speak to the food as we never made it to a table. If your white and old, you may love this place. If you are young and brown, you may be ignored. My husband and I watched a young man be ignored. Needless to say we did not want to spend money in this place. Large menu with a lot of good options! To my understanding this place is new or has reopened after being closed for numerous years. The food is good and reasonably priced. My favorite is the crab cakes. I know, sounds weird ordering crab cakes from a Sierra foothill town but there actually pretty dam good! I'm going to have to say the food in Jamestown is better than Sonora. I'm not being biased. I'm just going off of experience. Waiting for Morellias to open and I'm sure Jamestown will have the best restaurants in Tuolumne County. Who ever opens a good Chinese and sushi spot will be the clear winner. Smoke Shop cafe, odd name and honestly avoided it because of its name until I tried it and now I'm glad I did. Not the same caliber as the Service Station but also not as expensive. Nice to have options. read more

What a fantastic meal! We went to the Smoke Cafe on a Friday for lunch. My husband ordered the fish taco lunch special which was hand breaded and served with mango and pico de gallo. We ordered my son chicken strips and fries. The chicken was also hand breaded and cut into strips and were a cut above your standard frozen ones most restaurants serve. In addition to quality tasty food, we had attentive service and timely refills on drinks and coffee. We will be back. read more

Wow! Great service and amazing food. We came for breakfast and it was well worth it. Homemade corn tortillas, homemade jalapeño biscuits with chorizo gravy, huge stuffed French toast. Very clean and super friendly! Never had to ask for a refill. I even bought extra biscuits to take home. We will definitely be back! read more

This should be 5 stars and has been for the last 10 months I've been going here. However they removed the Roasted Tomatillo pork omelet off the menu and replaced it with something not anywhere near as good. I've had the RT omelet probably 20 times and it's actually the only thing I've ever had on the menu. It was so good I'd go out of my way to get it. PLEASE PUT IT BACK ON THE MENU!!!! I'll gladly change this back to 5 stars. read more

We've been up to Jamestown the past 4 Saturdays in a row and popped in for breakfast. It's been consistently good and the service is prompt and friendly. I guess that's what you get when you leave the bay area. I have yet to see it crowded and we're usually done by 9 AM. read more

3 in our party. One had stuffed hashbrowns which were gigantic! I watched the waitress pour 3 large ladles of gravy over the plate. Wife had corned beef hash and I had chicken fried steak. All was pretty good but lacking in seasoning overall. I rarely salt and pepper my food but did this time. We'll return again and try some different items next time. read more

This place is probably better than I'm listing, or so I suspect. I only had a Mandarin soda and the chips. YEAH! We sat down and immediately they had our drink order and fresh chips and salsa on the table. Yeah! The flour and corn chips... kick @$$! It was a hot day and the salsa was tasty but not spicy... well done. DRINK IT Loads of what you expect, but also a full selection of Jarritos (Mexican soda). -- If I'm in Jamestown again, I'm heading here to try the mole. I have a suspicion it will bop up my rating. read more

There were long lines after 7pm here and pretty much only one cashier taking orders. While ordering took some time, the food came out within 10-15 minutes, so not too bad. I went with their smashburger, which was decent but didn't have much flavor. I think it needs more salt though. It was the type of burger that will satisfy the craving but not something I'd be rushing back for again and again. I also got some chicken tenders and fries. Fries weren't fresh and low key soggy. The tenders were fine but leaned heavy into the breading vs the chicken. The sauces were solid though. I liked the bbq, buffalo, and honey mustard. For a family of 5, we were able to feed everyone for just under $100, which honestly is not terrible in 2026. The food does what it needs to do to provide some sustenance before or after some gambling in the casino.

It was pretty quiet during lunch, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the salad and it was massive -- easily big enough for two people. The only downside was the beer selection. They were out of quite a few options. Luckily they still had the one I wanted, but another customer gave up the search and settled for a soda. Food and service were excellent overall. Just don't come expecting a fully stocked beer list.

I have a gluten allergy, one daughter has gluten sensitivity, and my other daughter has celiac disease. We informed our waitress that we needed gluten-free options and were told they were out of gluten-free buns but had gluten-free sourdough. After double-checking, the chef confirmed it was gluten-free. Something didn't seem right, so we asked to see the packaging. Wheat was listed as an ingredient. Thankfully, we caught the mistake before eating it. Unfortunately, when our food arrived, two of the gluten-free meals were still served with gluten-containing items, including a flour tortilla and the same bread we'd already identified as not gluten-free. The food itself was actually delicious, and I wish I could leave a more positive review based on that alone. However, for anyone with celiac disease, a gluten allergy, or a serious gluten sensitivity, accurate ingredient information is not optional--it's a health and safety issue. The repeated errors from both the kitchen and serving staff were extremely disappointing and left me with little confidence in their ability to safely accommodate gluten-free guests.

The Smoke never disappoints! The food is outstanding, good quality, fresh, and fast! Service is top-notch with staff like Bev taking excellent care of us every time. We've eaten here at least a dozen times and everything we try is delicious! Some of our favorites are the nacho fries, eggplant sandwich, any burger, their waffle is the best in the county, Buffalo chicken sandwich, eggs Benedict... to name a few. I had heard about this restaurant and saw good reviews, so hubby and I tried it. We wanted a burger. He ordered bacon cheeseburger and I ordered a patty melt switching out to swiss cheese. This cafe is newly opened. We've gone a few times now for breakfast and lunch and both times have been great. The owner/chef is excellent with his craft and it shows. Plates were made fresh and delicious. We had Sandra wait on us both times and she was lovely and attentive. We will be back! read more
