I had this place bookmarked & had wanted to try it out. Walking in, you just feel healthy! This is a small quaint place by Hermosa Beach and like everywhere else in the beach town, it's a tad pricey. My friend had the berry powerful and I had the royal root. I did not like his berry powerful, but really enjoyed my royal root. He also had the frittata, which looked tasty, but small. I had the avocado toast and I swear, I saw angels and the gateway to heaven! It was delicious...and although it was $9 for 2 pieces of toast, cut in half - it was amazing! I love their matcha lattes and their iced chai. They use real 100% matcha green tea powder and it's not premixed with sugar and additives like Starbucks matcha powder is. And their chai actually tastes like chai! The spices are easy to identify upon the first sip, it's very much like a flavor bomb went off in my mouth. And as an experienced chai drinker, theirs has a perfect balance and beautiful blend of spices. It's lightly sweet and they don't over due the milk either so it tastes perfect everytime. Spent $25 on lunch today. It was a spicy veggie wrap, iced matcha latte with almond milk, and some chocolatey bread pudding treat. The veggie wrap was decent but not worth the price (it had a $2 additional charge added bc the avocado had a surcharge - even though avocado was included in the ingredients list for the wrap). The matcha latte was way overpriced ($5.50 for drink and possibly additional charge for the almond milk though I am not sure). The matcha was treated lighthandedly so the drink did not have that prevalent of a matcha taste, which is disappointing considering the price. The chocolatey bread pudding special was delicious though ($5) - this treat was filling. Decent healthy food but pretty high prices. Overall, decent food but not sure it was worth the high price! read more

Visiting Hermosa Beach on vacation and I cannot rave about this place enough! Let me count the delightful ways: -All vegan and gluten free baked goods which means I don't have to ask about wheat, dairy, soy, egg and all the other crap I'm sensitive to. Love the Coconut Paleo Bread and the Beet/Sweet Potato/Blueberry muffin. -Raw protein and almond milk smoothies with greens and organic good stuff that taste REMARKABLE together. Every smoothie and juice I tried hit the mark of tastiness and filling - can't pick a favorite -Ambience was stellar. Amber was a joy at the register and handled my newbie questions without batting an eye and made me feel incredibly welcome (sometimes juice bars tend to have a cliquey vibe to me). And sitting out on the front patio in the sun did this Seattle girl some good too! I will return many times on this trip and in the future. THANK YOU for doing what you do! read more

My husband and I love this place. All fresh, organic, non GMO ingredients make everything taste better and you feel energized and nourished after your meal. I usually get a rawsome salad with turkey and a green party juice with extra ice and lemon. It's very filling and hands-down the best tasting salad I've ever had. Treat your body to clean nutrition and you will feel the difference. They also have amazing specials, paleo and vegan deserts, nut milks and delicious fresh juices, not the trendy "cold-pressed" sugar-on-a-shelf, or mostly-romaine green juices (wtf?) but freshly juiced live fruits and vegetables. Real food takes a little more time to prepare and usually costs a bit more than prepackaged food, but feeling great is totally worth it. The staff is genuine and friendly and our dog sleeps at our feet on the patio. It's just far enough from the beach to have easy parking and still enjoy a social atmosphere. I'm literally obsessed with this place. Since I moved to South Bay 3 years ago, I probably come to the source every Saturday and Sunday. There really aren't many vegan friendly restaurants in this area. The staff here is so sweet always greets me by name. The food is AMAZING. They even make their own homemade nut milks!!! They make the BEST lattes ever! They use eco friendly to go cups and straws, and the cafe is so cute. It's the type of place you just feel so clean and great after eating here. Side note: I'm surprised to read people complaining about their prices. Everything is organic and locally sourced. I think the prices are moderate, but to be expected when you're getting quality organic produce. Nothing is processed here, everything is made from scratch. To me, you can't put a price on CLEAN healthy food. read more

Turmeric Tonic (not for everyone but I do love the taste and the fact that's a great natural anti-inflammatory... Dilute with a bit of water if too powerful for you) Pumpkin bread (baked goods are never my top choice in foods but this bread is delicious and quite addicting!) I LOVE this place. I've only had one meal that didn't totally please my taste buds (quinoa bowl - too bland) but their avo toast, farro salad, vegan pastries, and lattes are to die for. One of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday is at the Source Café when my wallet allows, because it is a little pricy, but I will pay extra for quality and for a small family operated business that supports good health any day of the week! I would like to see them stay open longer and have some dinner options. They are only open until 7pm and there have been several times I was craving something healthy with friends and had to choose another place due to this early closure. read more
