Iced Horchata Latte
Yoandra V.

I walked into this beautiful coffee shop within walking distance to the ocean. It was surprisingly spacious with lots of seating and a couple outlets. Additionally, they have merch, pastries and fresh roasted coffee bags ready to purchase. But in this occasion, I needed to sober up. So I got the horchata latte. The girl at the counter was really sweet and ensured I got my iced latte in a timely manner. It was really good. It was subtle, not too sweet with the perfect amount of syrup and cinnamon. I would get this again the next time I am in the area.

Stopped in for an iced latte and our friends got the featured drink which I think had cardamom in it and we all enjoyed our drinks. The order and pickup counter is so relaxing with some beautiful plants and big windows that let in ample natural light. There's also some seating area indoors but it was so beautiful outside we all got our drinks to go so we could walk along the beach. Would recommend for the friendly and knowledgeable baristas and quality coffee.

Great location and very clean and organized inside. The cashier was kind and helpful as it was our first time here. Unfortunately the coffee just was not good... I got the orange cardamom coffee and my boyfriend got a hazelnut drink. They both tasted the exact same and had no flavor. I understand they were lattes but they had zero coffee flavor at all and only tasted like straight milk. We ended up just getting new coffees down the street.

Ok so location is amazing love a cute little Laguna Beach Coffee shop. First time I came here I got their seasonal orange latte (back in April) and tbh not bad i enjoyed it. My bf got a latte with their house made almond milk at the time and it looked like the milk went bad and tasted horrible (picture below). You know what things happen it was just 1 latte so i kind of ignored it and went back a couple days ago. Got their vanilla latte and dirty chai with whole milk cause their almond milk now scares me. My vanilla latte tasted like a cup of milk that they poured next to an espresso shot (i'm talking the la croix of coffees here) and the dirty chai was watered down?? but also too spicy at the same time (this is coming from someone who has grown up drinking Indian chai so spices don't scare me but this one was weird). Now to food: We got their egg sandwich and u know what not bad probably the only redeeming quality of this place so far. Solid 7.5/10 I think, like nothing special but a good sandwich. We also got their breakfast burrito and that falls among the same lines, nothing special but not bad either and it came with a green sauce that was pretty good. tldr: don't be fooled by the vibes and expect a good cup of coffee, maybe stop by for the food though if u want

Was a nice pit stop for us as we did a family drive up the PCH from Dana Point to Newport and back down. I got the matcha, husband got drip coffee and he said it's decent. Will make it a regular stop while exploring all the shops and restaurants up and down the coast. Can't wait to come back and hang a little longer, and enjoy the ocean views from the cafe. p.s. when I clicked follow on IG, I noticed a post from the owner that he once lived in LA, and was doing all he can to help those affected by the fires. Was very heartening to see, and made me all the more willing to support this business.

Met my friend here and was warmly greeted by the staff. The vibe & layout inside was inviting and spacious with outside seating available (with a great view of the ocean). We both got a caramel latte and it was made so good! My friend also ordered a parfait and we inhaled it, it was so good. The wait wasn't very long and they even brought our drinks out to us (we sat outside). Definitely plan on coming back here!

This was such a cute Coffee place with some great options for breakfast and a variety of pastries. The inside had plenty of seating and cute books and bear decor. Super aesthetic, the prices are fair and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We came here on a busy Saturday morning we didn't wait long for our food. Will definitely be back soon on vacation. This is a great spot right before heading to the beach

Came into Bear Coast Coffee and it was so cute! It was decorated for Christmas and I loved it! So much seating indoors and very cozy! I got the lemongrass chamomile iced tea and it was perfect without sugar! The Cold Brew tasted light! I got avocado toast added and egg and the oatmeal! Everything was super yummy and let me tell you price wise it was great! Service was great as well! They were busy when we went but got everything really quickly! The hey even brought us our food!

Cute beach-front coffee shop! Stopped by for a coffee and the wait was quick. No breakfast burritos after 12 & the coffee was a bit sweet for my taste. But nice strong coffee, if you're not a fan of overly sweet drinks ask for less syrup or an add shot! Lavender caramel was my favorite!

Hot matcha didn't take the picture before serving size is fair!

One of my favorite coffee shops right next to the beach and a good spot to work at. The service is excellent and they're friendly and prompt. It's chill during the week a little busier but more a a good vibe. Food is tasty and reasonably price! Go to spot in Laguna and it's dog friendly!

Kid friendly!

Bear Coast has great coffee. Their lattes are really good quality and we also like their cold brew with cold foam. This location has an ocean view and you can grab your drink and walk right down to the water or walk around the shops in Laguna. Only downside is the parking is limited and can be really tough at times. Also, don't miss it as you're driving - they only have a sign that says "Beverages" outside!

vanilla latte, horchata latte, pistachio croissant and fete and egg sandwich

my friend ordered the vanilla latte with their house made almond milk and she would rated it a 2/10. I ordered the horchata latte with their Housemade almond milk and it was disgusting. It was extremely sour! 0/10 However, I ordered the pistachio croissant and she ordered the egg and feta sandwich, both were amazing! what's disappointing is that our coffees were about $8 each! in conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this place for coffee at all and I won't be coming back.

Open airy and welcoming floor plan

Such a nice welcome to the neighborhood. Been anxiously awaiting it to open! I like the location as it's away from the congested touristy area, and hopefully remains a "local" spot. Space is really open w/ a cool coastal vibe. In terms of coffee, cappuccino was quite good. The nutmeg vanilla latte was good, but way too sweet for my palette. The egg sandwich was a bit disappointing. Egg was over cooked and hard. Lettuce, avocado kinda got lost in the brioche...bread / ingredients ratio = way too much bread. Would probably be way better on white or sourdough. Likely still getting up to speed and adjusting to the learning curve. Would def. Give another try again.

It should be illegal to sell someone a breakfast burrito and then say you are out of salsa.

You order at the counter and there's self seating inside and out on the patio. You can partially see the ocean from some of the patio spots which is nice. There's lots of breakfast options and I like that you can order one or more of the breakfast sides. So you can get a little bit of everything. I had the almond French toast and my husband had the breakfast sandwich. We both shared some bacon, eggs, and breakfast potatoes. Their lattes are pretty tasty, and I would say I'm picky when it comes to iced lattes. They offer a few different special flavors. This is a great little cafe spot that I would be happy to come back to.

I tried a few of the chips that came with it and unfortunately they tasted stale, which was definitely disappointing. For my meal, I ordered the Eggs Benedict (the poached eggs with hollandaise sauce). It was okay overall, but I found it pretty flavorless. The hollandaise sauce didn't add much flavor, and the dish wasn't very memorable. I had to add a lot of ketchup and hot sauce to add flavor... One thing I did appreciate was that the restaurant appears to be family-owned, and I believe it's been in business for over 16 years. It's always nice to support a local business, and the prices were fair for the Laguna Beach area. The location is also a plus. It's within walking distance of the beach, and they offer validated parking with a parking structure located behind the restaurant, which makes visiting much more convenient. Overall, the food was not anything that would make us want to return. Between the stale chips and the lack of flavor in my meal, it felt more like a one-time visit rather than a place we'd seek out again.

Their hospitality made us feel truly welcomed, and it's rare to find a team that cares so much about their guests, Sal really took initiative to make it a rememberable dinning experience, I never interacted with a more professional and well manned manager ever in my life. They even were able seated us at a beautiful table overlooking the ocean, where we got to enjoy an unforgettable sunset during dinner. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Caesar salad with steak, and it was hands down one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. The dressing was rich and flavorful, and the steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully. We also started with the focaccia appetizer, which was outstanding. The bread was warm, soft, and fresh, and the honey butter spread completely exceeded my expectations. I could have eaten it by itself all night! For my drink, I had the chef's special cocktail made with limoncello vodka and (I believe) lemon boba. It was not only beautiful to look at but also one of the most unique and delicious cocktails I've ever had. Between the incredible food, the breathtaking ocean view, and the outstanding service, this was a dining experience I'll remember for a long time. Thank you, Sal and Mariah, for making us feel so welcome and taking such great care of us. We left feeling appreciated, happy, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

We got seated at our table at our table around 4:30p and had the most perfect view of the ocean! *we went on a Friday night and noticed the patio cleared out about 4:45-5pm and I didn't appear to have a lot of people waiting during that time. The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. We all loved our dishes and were very satisfied with our choices. Their menu does have non-seafood options, but why not to try what they're most prominent for? They don't have a dessert menu, but they heard that we were celebrating mom's birthday so they brought us a little Toffee Cake to share and enjoy...and for a place that doesn't have dessert, the cake was pretty delicious. My daughter ordered the cioppino, and after checking the seafood in her dish, we noticed the scallop was also very rubbery and didn't seem fresh either. A quick tip before you go: parking is either available on the street (if you're lucky enough to find a spot) or through valet for $15. The restaurant is located inside the hotel, and once you enter you'll take the elevator down to Level 1, where you'll be greeted with beautiful ocean views. We had a reservation and were seated very quickly. While we waited for our table to be cleared, Ava, our host, was so sweet and personable. She took the time to chat with us, shared some of her favorite menu recommendations, and when she noticed us unsuccessfully trying to take a selfie overlooking the water, she kindly offered to take a photo for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout dinner, Jesse was assisting our table, and he was fantastic. He always seemed to appear at just the right time without ever feeling intrusive. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. Our main server, Carson, was equally amazing. He was welcoming from the moment we sat down, incredibly attentive, and you could tell he genuinely cared about providing a great dining experience. His recommendations were spot on, he checked in on us regularly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever rushing us. The food was excellent. I absolutely loved the burrata salad, and my husband ordered the lobster bisque. At first, he thought the portion might be on the smaller side, but between the bisque and the bread, he ended up completely satisfied. Speaking of the bread--don't skip it! The butter, made with grass-fed cream, was absolutely incredible and made the appetizer even more memorable. Overall, Splashes exceeded our expectations. From the warm hospitality to the attentive service and delicious food, every part of the experience was exceptional. It truly deserves all of its five-star reviews. A huge thank you to Carson, Jesse, and Ava for making our evening so memorable. No notes, just a fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back!
