Great outdoor seating, the burger was cooked medium and tasted like a burger you cooked out in the grill but in a good way, perfectly cooked medium. All the toppings were delicious. Subbing the blue cheese was the way to go for the onion stack burger. All the other sandwiches were just okay- come here for the burgers not the specialty sandwiches. The green beans were crunchy and had a good spice to it. They also had an aqua Fresca cucumber mint that I could drink a gallon of if I could it was delicious! read more

My wife went to this restaurant to pick up takeout but was blocked in by a car and couldn't leave. After repeatedly asking inside if anyone owned the car, the restaurant staff were unhelpful and claimed they didn't have the building manager's contact. The author eventually got the contact from other businesses and learned from the manager that they could park there, and towing would be arranged. After waiting 90 minutes in 95-degree heat, a restaurant employee finally came out, rudely claimed the parking was reserved for employees, and refused to give her name. She said 'you deserved being in the sun for 90mins because you parked in wrong spot'. I attached this employee picture here who said the word above. She said is simply not true since there were no signs indicating the parking was off-limits to customers and all other customers come and go in spots which have same signs. I also called the restaurant to tell the situation. I shared the blocked car information (make, color and plate number). The employee told me she would run out to check it out and placed me on-hold, then just disappeared. I was on-hold for 20mins and the employee didn't even go outside, so I had to hang up. The restaurant knew exactly it's their employee blocking my wife but they decide to block her for 90mins or even longer if the towing company was not on the way. And in my conversation with the manager, he said I can park there and he's going to call the tow company. It was 95 degrees outside and I stayed in my car for 90minutes before someone from the restaurant coming out and tells me I can't park there because that's their reserved parking spots for their employees. We love The Stand. Have been going to the one in Encino for years and years. And the food today was great, fine. But the wine was really not up to their usual standard. Maybe most people don't care about that part of the menu, but I have always enjoyed their chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. Today I tried both of them, and found them undrinkable. I asked two managers whether they had changed the brand, and was basically given the "why no!" with no apology or offer of something else. In fact they were completely disinterested. So if you go there, and you want to order wine, I suggest you do a taste test first. Or bring your own bottle, better yet. You'll definitely get a better pour, and one you can drink. read more

Either way it was close ( a little more) than double cause they raise the prices and forgot all. Neither one did anything. So when ordering through a third party understand its not always the best of experiences. I really love the Stand in Northridge so I came here with some friends. I usually get the kale quinoa salad but opted this time for the falafel wrap. It sounded good but really missed the mark. The tortilla was so dry and brittle, it cracked off while I bit into it. The inside was super dry and the falafel was burnt. All around not good. My husband liked his tuna press so I add a star for that. The restaurant was mostly clean and well kept. I guess stick to the Northridge location. read more

We've been here a handful of times. It is the perfect place for a large group (if you have kids in your group especially). The short rib grilled cheese is indulgent. My oldest loves their burgers. My youngest loves their chicken bites. Fries came out piping hot! But what i most appreciate is that this restaurant is IN the community and supports the community. They hosted a fundraiser for a local Boy Scouts troop where a percentage of the receipts from all friends & family dining there were donated back to the troop. Not having to cook and benefiting the local pack?! Yes please! And the customer service has always been polite and friendly. We're going to stop by here more often knowing they are so very generous. Random note: they had letters up on the door tonight alerting customers to the fact that they were closing early for a company holiday party. Came here yesterday with my mom and daughter. Ordered the chimichurri steak salad, when the food came out my salad had no meat in it. I took the salad back inside with the receipt and explained there was no meat, the employee said they left the meat on the counter, he spoke so fast it was hard to understand him. He said he would bring the salad back out. The salad was good, but after I ate it, I began not to feel well, it started out like indigestion, and progressed into a super sour stomach and a fever. By the time I got home I was in so much pain. I got food poisoning from that salad, who knows how long that meat was sitting out or what other pathogens it came in contact with. As of this review I'm still in bed and my stomach is still hurting. My mom and daughter were fine no symptoms. read more

We liked The Stand in Pasadena, but decided to try the location in Encino since we were in the area, it's closer by and I really liked their patio see on Yelp photos! Covid or not, their patio is big, off the street, has trees around, lots of greenery and string lights. There's also parking behind! I went to order - got the original burger for myself, the Onion stack for my husband, the small portion of onion rings to share and 2 beers. I have to say, the beer selection at this location isn't that great, there's nothing amber or darker, too many IPA-s for my taste, I settled for a Gold Road Pale ale which is just OK, kinda weak. But happy to have a cold one! The place was busy when I got there, everyone working behind the counter was doing their best to help everyone. They enforce the mask and 6 ft. distance, with lines and signs on the floor. Clear to follow! Well, not everyone does, an older gentleman behind me kept getting closer to me while I was in line, didn't see the signs on the floor? Somebody who was working there also told him to properly put his mask on, it was hanging down. I like that mask is enforced and everyone is serious about that. Safety for everyone first! The girl who helped me had no time for chit chat, too busy in there. I ordered 2 beers, I guess because it was loud and busy and I talk through the mask (I'm not loud and don't like raising my voice) she heard just one, but I realized the issue and stood there and that got fixed. Other than that, nice, clean location and bathroom. Too bad they ran out of their fruit lemonade and never replaced it since it looked so good! I like their rewards program via their app, hope they'll keep it! It's nice to save a bit especially during these times! The patio is a darling, with lights on, is very charming, great place to enjoy a meal at! Food was great, tasty as usual, their onion rings are some of the best and the burgers were delicious. Love their pickle cup, it's a fun touch! Great to have with your beer while you wait for your food! There are people who work there who bring your food and are around in case you need anything else. We dined here today, and had an odd experience. We are regulars as other The Stand locations, shout out to The Stand in Westlake Village. We ordered a the short rib melt, the Cobb salad, hotdog, fries and a milkshake. My other half grabbed a bottle of soda and asked for a chilled glass, he was told that he couldn't have a chilled glass. Weird, but ok. Then his shake had a funky taste off it, he said it tasted like soap. He brought it back to the counter and told them about the weird taste. The lady behind the counter said the drink was made with the right ingredients, and she smelled the syrup and told him it smelled fine. He wasn't concerned with the smell, it was the taste. He felt like he was being told that there was nothing wrong with the shake. It was an awkward, somewhat weird experience. He asked for a refund instead of a remake, because of how the lady behind the counter responded to his issue. All in all, an odd experience today. And we were not left with the usual warm and fuzzy feelings we get from the Westlake Village location. Side not: the toilets were disgusting and had no toilet paper, in either of them. The food is good for what it is but seriously knocking off some points for our last experience. I arranged to meet a friend here for lunch on the patio and arrived a few minutes early. Knowing how busy it can get I went to get a table and was surprised to see all of the shaded table had been marked reserved. Surprising because as far as I knew they don't take reservations. I grabbed a table in the sun and watched as group after group wandered in disappointed to see the remaining 4 tables reserved. Soon a woman came in and stopped a person running food and said this was her reservation for 40 and demanded to know why one of her tables was taken. (Awkward as there were people sitting there eating). Just as I stood to walk in and order this woman's children push past me and run to get ahead in line. Shocked that the woman didn't say anything I turned to look inside to see 40 screaming and wild children in matching uniforms chaotically standing in line to order. No not standing, looked more like lunch time at a watering hole in the Savannah - absolute chaos. Now it's not The Stand's job to babysit, so I don't blame them for bad parenting. (I mean I know I was never aloud to act like that in a restaurant but whatever) but I can't believe how mismanaged the situation was. To take a reservation for 40 and not require a preorder, or one check... just 40 kids going rogue it was just bonkers! I can't imagine the money they lost all in the name of 40 kids meals. We ended up realizing it was going to be hell sitting out there and we were going to wait forever as the kitchen was inundated with 40 kids throwing down mommy and daddy's credit cards and running around like they just snorted fun dip so we left. I am super unhappy with the experience at this location this is the second/third time I've ordered from this location the same salad and got it wrong and bad. I always order the chimichurri steak salad from the Nohowest location and it's PERFECT. I ordered through Postmates for lunch and paid extra for some extra stuff and did not receive it and when I called to speak to a manager and stated I paid extra for steak and didn't get extra she said "that's our steak portion" but also didn't get the complete salad there was missing items in there and she just seemed like she didn't care about any of concerns and apologized and hung up. HORRIBLE quality in a manager... & also something was SUPER bitter I thought it was a leafy green cause those tend to be more bitter but it was the " fresh" cucumber it had a rancid BITTER taste so I had to pick them out.
