This brightly lit dining room welcomes you as you walk in from the free parking. This sandwich shop is located in a small mini mall and is next to a 7-11. I was immediately welcomed by all three employees. The cashier was knowledgeable and helped me pick out my cheesesteak. The large is enough for two meals. I didn't order the shakes but they looked good. Food was made to order. Bread was fresh but no hoagie sauce to spice up my sandwich. Bread was soft and steak was tender but I needed more seasoning and cheese.

We passed this restaurant and decided to try it for lunch on Sunday. We ordered on the counter & waited about 10 mins before picking up at the farther end of the counter. We ordered regular portion and the portion was very generous with lots of meat & melty cheese in the middle. The bread was perfect: crunchy on the outside yet soft inside. - The steakout (chicken): the chicken was perfectly cooked. The meat was tender & well seasoned. - The fugitive (steak): the steak was thinly sliced and tender. However, it would be great if they put more seasoning since it was a bit bland. The cheese was melted perfectly and the sandwich was really good. - Mini cheesesteak with fries (kids): my kiddo got half sandwich but it was huge! The cheesecake didn't have mushroom nor onion so it was perfect for my picky kiddo. The cheese was perfectly melted and delicious. It also came with a juice box & side of french fries. The french fries were crunchy and good. - Onion rings: okay. The coating was crispy and good but the onion inside was a bit wet.

I have been seeing many reviews for the restaurant on FB so decided to give it a try. There was a couple leaving as we were getting out of the car and I asked if this was their first visit. The gentleman replied 'No, we live in Colfax and come down at least once a week'! That told me we would not be disappointed. We ordered The Fugitive and it was delicious. The meat was extremely tender and tasty, there was no skimping on the onions, mushroom, and cheese and the bread was delicious, (baked fresh every 5 minutes). There was a steady stream of customers as well as Door Dash pick ups. The owner gave us a sample of the fries while we waited for our order and they were also yummy. Will certainly return to try other menu items.

We are so happy we came here for a late lunch today! We were out with our friend today, helping her buy lumber, and we decided to get a bite to eat, since none of us ate anything today, and I looked for a great place to get a good sandwich, and found this establishment! My fellow Yelpers, as I always say, rarely let me down, if at all, and we are SO HAPPY we stopped at this STELLAR shop for amazing food! We were graciously greeted when we entered this extremely clean, inviting, and comfortable eatery, and it immediately gave me a great impression...especially how delicious it smelled inside! The owner (I'm assuming---he was so nice and gracious) told us his "story" of his business model and how they use fresh, ribeye steak and chicken ) in their freshly made and delicious steak sandwiches, and how they make and bake their sandwich breads fresh every day and how they cut and prepare their vegetables they use on their cheesesteaks fresh every day to ensure a superior overall product, which I can attest makes a BIG difference! We all ordered our sandwiches, and split 2 fries between the three of us. The cheesesteaks were piping hot, the meat was very generous and seasoned to perfection, the cheese and the peppers, onions, and bell peppers were PERFECTLY cooked and the roll of the sandwich was so amazingly fresh, pillowy and delish! The fries were some of the best I've ever had and are hard sometimes to find nowadays--the type that have a thin, seasoned batter on them that gives them the perfect " bite " and keeps them crispy and hot--without being the least but greasy! Omg, those fries are equally as EPIC as that delicious, melt in your mouth cheesesteak! It was so filling, I could only eat half of my sandwich! We are definitely going to return here for the most delicious, tender, satisfying steak sandwiches I've ever had and served by the most gracious, friendly, host you could ever find! I love to mainly support these smaller businesses than the big chains out there, as they care way more about quality vs quantity, and this place does EXACTLY THAT! Thank you for restoring my faith in finding a really good steak sandwich out there!

WOWZERS! How have I not discovered this before today?!?! This is definitely one of the best I've had!! I just got done eating and can already tell I will be literally craving this sandwich! Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon and other than a couple of lovebirds, had the place to myself. Menu is typical for a cheesesteak spot but has a few quirks. I ordered the OG chicken sandwich with provolone (I do not like whiz and they made the substitution no problem). Restaurant was clean and staff were busy keeping it that way as I waited for my food. HO- LEE- COW. Best cheesesteak I've had. All ingredients made fresh daily. Fresh baked bread in house, freshly sliced ribeye and house made desserts. I live in OC now, so when I'm back in Sacramento, food usually doesn't hit the same way. This time was different. I came across a BOGO deal for The Steakout on Facebook and figured a cheesesteak sounded exactly like the right move for lunch. I checked Yelp, saw solid reviews, and decided it was worth the just-over-30-minute drive. It absolutely was. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the owner with a big smile. The place is clean, welcoming, and you can see everything being cooked fresh right in front of you. The smell alone lets you know you made a good decision. The bread is baked in small batches multiple times an hour, so you're not getting something that's been sitting around--your sandwich starts off winning before it even hits the grill. I ordered the Bacon Bust, the Steakout, fries, and a drink. Let's talk fries first. These aren't thin fast-food fries and they're not heavy steak fries either--somewhere perfectly in between. They have a real crunch, not just crispness, and because they're thicker you still get that soft, potato-y inside. Seasoned just right, no ketchup needed (and that's saying something). The sandwiches were the real standout. On the first bite, you can taste the freshness of every ingredient. Yes, you literally watch them cook it in front of you--but biting into it confirms that nothing here is cutting corners. The meat is juicy, the bread is fresh, everything is balanced, and it just works. It's the kind of sandwich where you stop talking for a minute because you're busy appreciating what's happening. Bottom line: this was 100% worth the drive. Friendly owner, fresh food, great execution, and a cheesesteak that actually delivers. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

As I walked in there, I already felt like home. They treat me so warmly they were polite, and most importantly their food was fantastic. There was no one else inside when we got there but the owner (I think) and both the employees were very attentive and informative. They made our sandwich and fries fresh right in front of us. We ordered a bacon cheesesteak and garlic fries, both were delicious and well seasoned. They offer banana peppers or spicy peppers on the side for free and had lot of yummy sauces you can add on. We tried their ranch and garlic aioli both were good on the sandwich and fries! Definitely coming back! This area needed a good cheesesteak spot! read more

Really getting tired of ordering a sandwich that says it comes with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers (The Steakout, their signature sandwich) and not getting what I ordered. I say no mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers and that's their cue to leave everything off the sandwich. It's like they don't know what their sandwiches come with and if you don't say to add those ingredients they have no clue how to make it. First time it happened, I thought it was a fluke. Now, the 2nd time in a row, I doubt I'll be back. Not at nearly $20 a sandwich. read more

Was really hopeful when we tried it since it's on the way home. Went about 5pm and the only people in the store were the employees. A couple pick up orders but that was it. The customer service was ok but the food... The food was over priced for the portions we received and so much salt that it was the only thing we could taste. We ordered 2 sandwiches. I love cheesesteaks so I thought I'd give this place a shot after seeing that it opened recently. A small but clean spot and I was greeted by a friendly register worker. However, I was not impressed with my cheesesteak. I looked at Michael's picture of his cheesesteak on a previous review and I had significantly less meat when I received my order. Taste wise it was okay, but for almost a $20.00 for a large cheesesteak (I got the fugitive menu item), they really need to be more generous with the meat. I'll stick to Granites Subs And Wings in Roseville. I pay roughly the same price and get twice the meat. read more

I recently moved to the area and have been looking for a reliable cheesesteak shop to satisfy my cravings. The Steakout met my expectations and more! I ordered the OG, which came with grilled onions, cheese sauce, mayo, and I added jalepenos. It was very delicious and one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while; the bread was freshly baked and meat well-seasoned. I Just had The Steak out for the 1st time about 10 minutes ago.. it was crazy good.. I got The Steakout sandwich with ribeye and .. customer service was spot on.. the gentleman behind the register took the time to explain the sandwiches and let me know the bread is fresh baked every few minutes.. literally the best cheesesteak I've had in sacramento. I literally just signed up for yelp to review this place they deserve it. It's not cheap, but u get what u pay for. I got the large and it was easily enough to feed 2.. honestly it was only $5 more than McDonald's and it was SOOOOO much better.. juicy flavorful, fresh veggies.. I wouldn't change a thing and I will be letting everybody I talk to for the next week know how good this place is 10/10 ill be going back in a day or 2 for sure.. skip the fast food and grab a cheese steak! I stumbled upon this new Cheesesteak shop in the area. As soon as you walk in you can smell the aroma of the meat mixed with onions and bell peppers being grilled. The owners were kind and welcoming . After looking at the menu with the clever names i decided to go with The Fugitive and a chocolate milkshake and let me tell you it did not disappoint! Probably one of the best i've ever had, the meat was quality and what i loved about it was the fact that it was loaded in a freshly baked bread! We will try eating here again and maybe order something different. The fugitive sandwich was supposed to have grilled onions and mushrooms. I saw not one single mushroom, unless they were chopped super fine. Meat was bland, needed some garlic and seasoning salt perhaps? Very little cheese and was expecting chunks of mushrooms. We have been there twice and plan on making it one of our regular go to places. The food was very good. Garlic and regular fries hit the target. I had two of the beef sandwiches and my wife enjoyed the teriyaki chicken sandwich. Great taste and generous portions. All of the staff were very good and totally there to please the customers. Very delicious ! Very clean! I ordered the steak out with everything on it. At first when I opened my Togo box I didn't see the bell peppers then I looked closely before I made this review and realized there was bell peppers but extremely small amount . Overall the Philly cheesesteak was very good. Perfectly seasoned. Only downfall was I expected a little more veggies. But flavor wise it was good. Definitely will be back. This was the best Philly Cheesesteak sandwich I have enjoyed in the last decade. Super good. We ordered the large Steak Out style with onions and green pepper and it was superb. I found this gem while making a pit stop on my way home from Tahoe. The cheesesteak was delicious and the portions were generous. After speaking with the owner I learned that they use ribeye steak and bake the hoagie buns fresh in house. This was certainly quality you can taste and the service was very hospitable. I wish I lived in Sac because this place would be in my regular rotation. I'll be sure to stop in next time I'm in the area. read more

And while the wings are also excellent (I didn't try any of the other offerings), it is the smashburger that I highly recommend, and for which I am adding my 5-star rating. Finding TTB was a bit of an adventure. There is no visible signage from the parking lot. You enter from the parking lot under a sign that reads "SF Super Market". Then you walk toward the supermarket ahead, but turn left to go under the sign that says Saigon Street Food Court. And then you need to locate the TTB counter inside. And for this smashburger fan, the journey was definitely worth it. The smashburger patties are large, with the requisite crispy edges, yet juicy and beefy in the middle. And even with all that goodness inside the bun, the bun itself remains perfectly intact. It is a giant, yet easily navigable sandwich, and it is delicious. Just the right amount of melted cheese and condiments, everything fresh-tasting. We also tried the onion rings (perfectly crispy) and the wings (with a crunchy coating over juicy, tasty chicken). The fries were a bit thicker than I like, as I am a shoestring-fries fan. But they had a bit of crunch on the outside and were soft on the inside. The chef/owner, Young, took our order, went back inside the kitchen, and then brought everything out to our table. He is a terrific guy, and so pleasant to interact with. With eight or so restaurants in the food court, there are plenty of tables and chairs for eating inside. The whole burger experience was comfortable, and I definitely look forward to returning. All of Young's offerings are fairly priced, and as should be obvious, I highly recommend TTB for an outstanding smashburger experience.

Every time, we go straight for the burgers - they're fresh, yummy, and oh-so-tasty! The presentation is lovely, showing the care that goes into each dish. This is quiet, clean, and organized. Not to mention the service is phenomenal! The staff is always friendly and kind, making us feel right at home. Important factor - I use a walker on good days, wheelchair on worse. Today I was using a walker. They asked indoors or outdoors and because of the heat I asked for indoors. The server / hostess guestured and said "Sit anywhere". But almost all the tables were quite high and require mobility. They were those raised chairs and tables you almost have to climb up to sit. And at the end of the counter there was a lowered portion with two seats that were accessible. However, they were using this counter space for storage with bunches/little buckets of utensils, ketchups, a dirty dish rag, napkins, other various items. To the credit of the man working at the counter part, he did offer to clear it up for me. I did refuse because if you only have two accessible seats inside, using that space as storage sends a message that my business isn't wanted. Same with stores that use the only accessible changing room as storage for all the put backs. It's the principle of the thing. My husband and I ended up leaving and eating somewhere else. I have just moved to the area a couple of months ago and had a good time at one of the coffee shops the week before nearby and like the little downtown Fair Oaks vibe for walking around, local businesses, etc. I hope in the future they can be ready for disabled folks like myself in a similar way that they are for all patrons.

Everyone was so welcoming from the moment you walk in, to ordering, and a bunch of customers just talking to eachother like real human beings. It was really cool. The vibe is super clean and new. Music videos playing on the big screen. Menu was packed with everything that looked good. Since it was my first time, I went with the FUGITIVE and made it a meal. OMGGGGG it was good. Meat was perfect, cheese was yummmmmm and onions were perfect. Also got some peppers and pepperoncinis. So good to add to the top (for free too). Fries were crispy and thicker. Just got the ketchup but they had some dipping sauces I'm going to try next time. I got the Lemonade which was perfect. Sweet and sour at the same time. And I got a free refill on it!!!!!!!
