The Stillery was my last meal of my Nashville trip, and it did not disappoint. Bf and I ordered the hot chicken salad and artichoke pizza to share. This was more than plenty of food for us. The salad was a chopped salad, with what I believe was ranch dressing. The chicken was "Nashville Hot", which had a kick but not quite as spicy as Hattie B's "very Hot". I really enjoyed this salad, more so, because there were a lot of veggies and veggies in general seem to be rather unpopular in most Nashville restaurants. The artichoke and bacon pizza had a thicker crust than I'm used to (thin NYC crust is my preferred) but the dough was perfectly blistered and the pie was generously sized. The pie was accompanied by a ranch dressing, because why wouldn't you want to pack more calories in there? I didn't think it added more, because the pizza was plenty flavorful, but i drizzled it all over anyway. Server was very nice. I heard of this place when I was in AZ as I have family there but my first time was here in Nashville. Given that it was a bit hot and humid, it was nice to find an air conditioned spot serving up cold drinks and good food. Service from Cody was on point. He said the choices we made were his recommendations and wow! It was exactly the type of food I was looking for. There are two floors and each floor has their own separate bar and staff. we went upstairs where it was more quiet and empty. If Yelp is your bible like it is mine (although now I am starting to question it due to technical difficulties but I'll spare you the details) then you understand why Stillery, as the number one restaurant in Nashville in Yelp, was a must visit for us. In fact, I was so determined to eat here that I settled for the only time available for a reservation during our stay which was 2:30pm. It turns out that we didn't need one because the people sitting at our table when we arrived were still there but we were offered one of the handful of tables that were available in the first-come-first-serve section upstairs which, BONUS, has live music. It was otherwise pretty crowded even at that off time. They have a really exciting cocktail menu and they serve their dranks out of mason jars which makes it more appealing for reasons I cannot explain. Trying to soak as much of the South as I could on this trip, I ordered the Southern Peach (moonshine, peach liquor, sweet tea, sour mix) which tasted almost identical to plain sweet tea and you cannot go wrong there. GF ordered the Whiskey "Float" (whiskey, vanilla moonshine, cherry, cola) which was another delicious and sweet cocktail. We had pretty much settled on what we planned to order before even arriving but went through the traditional menu perusal just to make sure as the stakes were high dining at such an establishment. We ordered the soft pretzels and pickle chips to start. The soft pretzels were lusciously soft on the inside and warm and served with the standard mustard but also their spicy pub cheese. In contrast to other pub cheese I have consumed alongside pretzels, this was more like a cream cheese consistency which was interesting but enjoyable. As GF mentioned, fried pickles are now completely ruined for us because these are like nothing I have ever consumed from posers in the north. It's an entirely different league. These were thin and SO crispy. They weren't too aggressively battered so they were light and the pickle essence is able to shine through. They were a little bit salty for my taste but what can you expect from pickles? I ordered the mac and cheese for my main which is served in a hot cast iron pan, so creamy, and topped with bread crumbs. This was certainly good but did not change my world like I was hoping it would. I also didn't feel compelled to finish it. GF ordered the hot chicken tenders served on the quintessential white bread and with a side of pickles, cole slaw, and fries. The fries were super thin and crispy and didn't require a condiment. GF was disappointed in the chicken and commented that Hattie B's was superior.
