This restaurant was absolutely beautiful... right on my favorite beach in Malibu. The prices were steep but to be expected for the area and for such a nice view & ambience, feels like somewhere straight out of a movie. The food was tasty, I enjoyed the salad & tacos very much! Our server Andre was really nice & handled all our needs in a timely fashion. I'm glad I stopped by after a relaxing day on the beach with my mom.

I don't know if I've ever been to a restaurant that charges $10 a slice to cut your cake. I genuinely couldn't believe it. They didn't even give the option to just let us cut it ourselves. $10 per person. To press the knife into the cake. I had a big group because it was my birthday so it was an extra $120 on top of the bill for the cake. $120 for them to cut the cake. Maybe I could've overlooked the fee a little bit if our waitress was around and very attentive, but she was MIA and we were all dying of thirst the whole time. Maybe I could've overlooked it l if our food came out fast but we were there for three and a half hours because the food was taking forever. I understand we're a big group but I've had a big group at other places even while it's busy and this has never happened. And then the cherry on top was an extra $120 to cut our cake and forced gratuity for bad service and for them to cut our cake. I can't make this up!! I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 star because I did really like their drinks and the food was good. I had to apologize to everyone after though.

Valets were super kind and quick! Walked in with no reservations but was able to be sat immediately. They had a brunch menu in addition to their regular menu, they had something for everyone! I had a salad with a balsamic dressing that was delicious. Hubby got the breakfast burrito and enjoyed it. The view was amazing! We sat inside but might as well have been outside with the giant windows that opened up to the ocean.

One of our favorite spots in Malibu you can't beat the beach view! The lobster pasta is my go-to every time, rich and flavorful. Perfect place to unwind, enjoy good food, and catch the sunset. Service is friendly and the vibe is chill, though parking can be a bit tough.

WOW what a view, but what a slow roll to get there. Suggest you make a reservation and give yourself plenty of time to arrive, especially on the weekend. Food was delicious, wait staff was attentive, and seriously can't say enough about the view from the 2nd floor. Go, enjoy, relax! Oh and they have valet parking which is super helpful, reasonable and friendly!!

Outstanding experience at The Sunset Restaurant. We had high hopes for this place, and it exceeded our expectations. Amazing views, located on a quiet beach front. The service was great, and the food and drinks were exceptional. Javier our waiter was so kind in taking care of us, and we couldn't thank him more. Would highly recommend this place.

Popped in for quick happy hour. We shared the fish tacos and fries. I'd recommend NOT sharing the tacos :-) Lol We loved the atmosphere, food, drinks, and enjoyed talking to the bartenders. We are definately planning our next trip back! Maybe happy hour and dinner.

Oh how I love this place! Best spot to enjoy a drink and appetizer and catch a sunset! We sat on the couches in the lounge area and met a couple from Montreal who we chatted it up with for a bit... I had a Paloma and my husband had a Smokey tequila drink (can't remember the name) both so delicious! Also enjoyed the Tuna Tar Tar appetizer! Excellent! Service was great but off to a rough start as we sat for quite a while before anyone came over to us and the party that came in next to us, about 15 minutes after, were being tended to and of course I waved to the server and said we still haven't ordered? She said "ok someone will be with you shortly" I was a bit miffed over that but it wasn't long before the bar tender came and took our order. He was very nice and apologetic and even comped a drink! Thank you for that! Always recommend coming here!

Really enjoy coming to the Sunset Restaurant and this last visit did not disappoint. Parking is available via valet parking. You can certainly try parking on the street, but it's beachfront and packed most of the time. There is indoor and outdoor seating options. Both provide beautiful views of the ocean, just keep in mind that the outdoor seating is directly in same. The service is excellent, with your waiter and managers checking on folks frequently without feeling overbearing. I have never been disappointed by any of the dishes I've ordered. This latest time, we enjoyed the calamari (crisp, warm, succulent), Cesar salad, burger, and seafood tacos (now a duo rather than trio...I wish they'd bring back the lobster). Portions are incredibly generous, as well! Can't wait for our next trip out to Zuma/Malibu

My husband and I have always passed by this restaurant and finally we came here for lunch on a lovely, sunny Sunday! My hubs got the the waygu burger with double patties - and at the first bite, he said that this was so impressed and after the first few bites, he gave the burger a 10 out of 10! I got the salad and I think it was okay - maybe around an 8 out of 10 (wished there was more chicken!!) The ambiance was so great - we got a lovely seat next to the open windows! The service was pretty slow sadly given it was lunch time! Overall, a fantastic malibu spot right along the beach and would definitely come again! Parking might be tough but we parked at the beach and took a short 5 min walk over! Recommend getting a reservation too to avoid the long line!

Cute beach spot with really good food overall. The burrata was delicious and fresh with a nice balsamic drizzle. The grilled octopus was also excellent, tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly over the creamy base and tomatoes. The clams on the half shell weren't really for me. The texture and larger size just wasn't my favorite. I'll stick with oysters next time. Kettle One martinis were good and strong. Staff was friendly and accommodating, especially since we had our two dogs with us. They originally wanted to seat us on the patio, which is literally on the sand. Cute idea, but it was a little chilly and the tables felt very close together, so we chose to sit inside near the bar area instead. Only minor issue was that we could see our drinks sitting ready at the bar for a while before they made it to our table. Nothing major, just noticeable. Also worth noting: valet parking only. Overall, a great little beachside spot with solid food, good drinks, and a relaxed vibe.

Delicious food with an amazing view. This restaurant sits right on the beach. If you can, ask to sit upstairs. There are so many windows pointing towards the beach and it's quieter. Our server was great and super friendly. I started off with the Pink Elephant which was absolutely delish. The linguini and clams was huge. They do not skimp out on the clams as well. Everyone loved their food and the service.

Unfortunately, once it finally came out, I realized the wait was probably because the ribs and chicken had been cooked for far too long. The meat was completely overcooked--more like beef jerky than something you'd expect to be served at a restaurant. It was essentially inedible. The fish and shrimp reminded me of frozen dinners from my early childhood which is not the vibe we had in mind! The ambience was okay, although I have to say it looks much better on social media. We were seated at a table with sand on it, which even in a beach setting is unacceptable. Our server seemed overwhelmed, to the point that I ended up ordering my drinks directly from the bar. I asked for a glass bottle of still water, and she had no idea what I was referring to. On a more positive note... Amelia, the host, was absolutely incredible. Her professionalism, warmth, and level of service stood out dramatically in comparison to the rest of the experience. Honestly, I hope she eventually has an opportunity to bring that level of service to an establishment that truly complements it. She is the only reason I'm giving Paradise Cove 2 stars instead of 1. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. The ocean view and beautiful atmosphere are definitely the highlights of this restaurant. It's a gorgeous place for a special dinner, especially around sunset. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is mainly because of the seating situation and the unexpected surcharge. We asked if we could sit at a table next to the glass window with a better ocean view. We completely understand that those tables may not always be available, and we weren't expecting special treatment. However, when we asked one of the hosts about an ocean-view table, the communication was not very clear, and the table we were moved to was not what we had requested. What was more disappointing was surcharge. We honestly didn't understand what the surcharge was for, and no one clearly explained it to us. It felt unnecessary, especially since we were simply trying to get the table we had asked about in the first place. If there is a surcharge, I think customers should be clearly informed about what it is for before being charged. That said, the food, drinks, server, and beautiful Malibu setting were all excellent. We really enjoyed our dinner and would come back again.

What really stood out was the customer service. One of the employees working near the deli area, I didn't catch his name, but I remember his distinctive earring and tattoos, provided exceptional service. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that customers had a great experience. The entire store was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Even the restrooms were spotless, which says a lot about how well the business is managed. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be stopping back the next time I'm in the area.

3.5 on 5 Low quality…read moregrocery items. Burnt coffee. Bottom of the barrel selection at Erewhon prices. Imagine a Whole Foods and Walmart had a baby, a not so thriving baby. Now imagine it costs twice as much as Whole Foods. Boom. The only reason why it's 3.5 on 5 is the exceptional customer service. Really really nice and down to earth staff. You'd only go there if you are a tourist or a local who doesn't want to drive to a decent grocery store. Everything is mediocre. Ingredients are not clean. There's a lot of variety, from cut fruits to breakfast burritos, baguettes to bagels, sandwiches to poke. Many of the wraps and sandwiches looked sad and dry. $12 for cut papayas and $19 for small cut mixed fruits (if you are thinking organic, nada conventional). It's still decent to pickup overpriced staples in a rush, convenience, but not for stocking up your kitchen. Will we be back, probably, since any other store in western Malibu is a minimum half hour commute.
