Great breakfast spot - especially for weekend brunch! They stop serving breakfast at 1pm on weekends though so get there early! Highly recommend the Country Fried Steak with home fries. Their gravy is delicious! We also tried their French toast which I would give a 3/10. The syrup isn't good which made the French toast fall flat. But the gravy makes up for it. read more

I was here with my family hoping to have a nice brunch and was sorely mistaken. The waitress was pleasant however, that was the only good part about our experience. We waited almost half an hour for our simple drinks of coffee and water to come out and an additional hour for our food which was ordered at the same time our drinks were. We inquired several times as to what was taking so long. We were kindly explained to that the kitchen was backed up because they weren't used to seating people inside and outside. We did not ask to be seated outside but were seated outside. Obviously outside seated tables took last priority. If your kitchen can't handle more tables than are in your dining room... Don't seat more people than can fit in your dining room!!! My sister's meal was incomplete when it did arrive and when asked about the missing gravy it was explained that it was currently being made. Twenty minutes later it had still not arrived. When my sister went in to inquire about her food she was simply apologized to and offered coupons for next time. No further explanation was given regarding the status of her food. We were there for nearly two hours and she didn't even get her food. We finally had to go inside to pay for our meals after waiting an additional ten minutes for our checks to be brought out. The manager did end up taking $10.00 off of each of our bills for the overly excessive wait. read more

Food quality has definitely declined in recent months. Had breakfast with granddaughter last week. Her French toast was dry and flavorless, and our home fries were soggy and inedible. Hopefully, the owners will wake up and smell their own coffee before it's too late to reverse the decline! read more

A decent breakfast place if you're in the neighborhood. They're very friendly and attentive. The food is mediocre compared to other breakfast places in Charlotte, but since its across the street from my house, I give it 4 star for the convenience and friendly service. read more

Horrible customer service!!! Came to the restaurant with my elderly mother that doesn't walk well or requires a wheelchair. There wasn't enough room in the restaurant to maneuver a wheelchair. And they wanted to make my mother walk all the way across the restaurant. There was a large round table in the middle and they were placing two adults and three children. I suggested they put that family on the far table they were planning to seat us at. They didn't do that. There was an empty booth/table close to the door and we asked if we could put a chair on the end of it to accommodate all five adults. They advised us that they were not allowed to do that. We decided to wait and my mom would try to walk across the restaurant. As we were waiting, another family was sat at the booth/table with a chair on the end of the table (the one that they weren't allowed to place a chair on the end). I was VERY upset. I spoke to the manager and advised her of the situation. Her only response was I'm sorry and did nothing to try a remedy the situation or offer any suggestions. It is very disappointing that our disabled/elderly family members have to deal with unaccommodating people and places like this. I will NEVER go to this restaurant. read more

We really enjoy having breakfast at The Sweet Spot. Kinda feels a little more small town local breakfast place. I appreciate the basic breakfast options over places that try to get way to fancy. This is the kind of place you come for just a good solid breakfast without the frills. As a native New Yorker I enjoy the pork roll and the best bacon egg and cheese in the area. I do feel like sometimes the service can be lacking but other times it's great, guess it depends who you get. Overall good spot! read more

The atmosphere was nice and the service was very friendly, but I really wasn't impressed with the food. My son got a pancake that was very good; sweet and fluffy. But the omelette I ordered was scorched and the hash browns were very greasy and left a puddle of grease on the plate. read more

I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of my food! I usually take one but it didn't last long on my plate. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with hash browns. Both were amazing. My husband ordered an omelette with home fries. Everything came to us quickly and neatly. Our coffee was also refilled before it had a chance to get cold. We stopped here on a whim instead of going to Cracker Barrel and we are so glad we did. We will be back soon! read more

My family and I have ate here many times, but no more. My stepson and I went there today for lunch. Neither one of us are big on breakfast foods. The menu clearly states lunch is served from 11am on. I did not see anything about Sundays being different and just checked the website and it does not mention anything about not serving lunch on Sundays. So we ordered off of the lunch menu, and the waitress took our order no problems. She then returned several minutes later and said, We do not serve lunch on Sundays, let me go get you some menus." So, my stepson and I sat and talked as she took off and decided we would go somewhere else when he pointed out that the people next to us had chicken strips and french fries (the exact lunch he ordered and were told we could not have). So when the waitress came back with menus I asked, "How come those people can get chicken strips and fries?" She did not have an answer and went and talked to several people, returning to tell us that chicken strips and fries are all they could do. Which meant I was still out of luck and quite honestly already tired of dealing with them. So, I exclaimed, "Just let us pay for our drinks and get out of here then". I wholly expected some sort of an apology and a, "Hey don't worry about the drinks." from the manager. We never even saw the manager. The waitress came back with the bill for $5 and some change. As she was leaving I simply said, "You know I think this is kind of rude". She got REAL crappy with us and enquired as to why? I said you took our order, came back and told us you could not provide it, then want to charge me for the drinks. Again she started snapping back and telling me how I was rude and on and on.... Eventually she said, "Then just don't pay for the drinks". So I didn't and will never go back. For me,,, Customer service is key and if a place cannot provide it another will. I also was told, that Pippa's is ran by the same people so I guess I am done with them too. read more

Went for breakfast on Saturday and ordered 2 eggs over medium with fruit. Eggs come out one is perfect other is a broken yolk that has been cooked. That is not over meduim. That should never have come out of the kitchen. Also pineapple very dry and tasteless. Very disappointed. Have some pride in what you serve. read more

The food is good but the past few times I went, the service was poor. Even when it isn't busy, you basically get ignored. First, when I walked in along with another group of people, we all stood there for a few minutes before a waitress yelled over the basically empty room that we could just sit anywhere. Second, after the waitress brought my food, she went to another table and stayed there the rest of the time talking to them! I waited almost 15 minutes after I clearly had pushed my plate away so she would come over and give me the check but that never happened. I ended up having to ask another waitress there if I could have my check just so I could leave. This isn't the first time I've waited for too long in this restaurant. Management needs to teach their staff to pay attention to the customers. read more
