Stopped by this place for dinner after work the other day based on the great reviews. It's located in a gas station-like convenience store. Got the 2 taco combo that came with rice and beans along with an order of carne asada fries. The flavor of the tacos were pretty good but the tortillas were a bit too thick in my opinion. Carne asada fries were pretty decent too but there weren't TOO much meat on top of the fries (all small pieces), so it was mainly just cheese and fries. It was decent overall but to be honest, there are probably other taco spots in Orange County that are better that I would go to if I was ever craving tacos and fries. Friendly and very nice staff though and they were quick! read more

Chilaquiles verdes were very good. I wish there was a little more onion and crema on top, but the spice level on the salsa was perfect. I hadn't tried Cesina before this, but i really enjoyed the texture. It reminded me of how I let my brisket crisp up when I get KBBQ. A great lunch spot for anyone who works in the area and just wants to grab a quick bite. read more

Finally made t here, after seeing all the hype in social media. It's worth the hype. Simple menu, generous servings, excellent service. Not to mention the price is amazing. Found this hidden gem on IG. Omg, everything we ordered was bomb, meaning it was delicious. My favorite item was the Cecina Taco with Nopales (Cactus). The Asada Fries are amazing! We also tried taco de Lengua, Asada, Birria, a chicken al pastor sope, all deliciousness. Oh, and a chicken burrito. Staff is so friendly and we received the best service. We will definitely be back. FYI: This spot is located inside a mini market, so there is no seating. We ate in the car. We didn't care, it was worth it. read more

I am a little confused by all the love this place gets. It's a food counter in a convenience store. That does mean a lot of drink options, chip and candy options. Maybe we came on a bad day. There was no line. All the food was set up similar to Chipotle, so the only thing made to order was the French fries. The food wasn't bad. But it didn't blow my mind. It was a simple meat, rice, beans burrito, cheese cost extra. The carne asada fries were good, but nothing extraordinary. My biggest complaint would be the salsa they gave was really salty. I couldn't even use it because it was so salty. This is not a sit down restaurant, there are a few tables outside, but you're eating right next to a car. I had high hopes, but it wasn't something I would go out of my way for. read more

Amazing hidden gem! Authentic Mexican food with true flavor, a great staff, and delicious meats and salsas. We ordered the breakfast burrito with steak (it was MASSIVE :)), Al pastor chicken taco, and Birria taco. All were incredible. The burrito is big enough for 2x people and was enormous. The cooks and staff were super friendly and on the weekends, they BBQ whole chickens outside and they're delectable. I'll definitely be back and want to try the asada fries and all of the other tacos we didn't get a chance to try today. The owner was very kind and she even gave us a slice of homemade cake because it's Easter. Thanks again and will be back! read more

Taco spot inside the corner store, and daaaaaammmnn is it good! I had to try a little bit of everything, and I'll be honest, I loved it all. The birria tacos are stupid good, they don't even need salsa roja (but I put it on anyways lol). Sopes were great, even though I didn't know how I'd feel about them with melted cheese instead of cotija. Coming back here to try more for sure! read more

Went for lunch on a Saturday and they were busy (great sign!) Ordered two taco combos (chicken and asada) and one cesina taco, all were so good! The tortillas had a quick char on the grill which gave them a soft crunch while maintaining the soft tortilla texture too. The chicken and asada were cooked perfectly... the cesina taco was DELICIOUS, although next time I'll get nopales with it. They gave us mild, spicy and even spicer salsa which if you like SPICY ask for the cilantro crema salsa. We will back for everything. Get there and order everything you won't regret it read more

I stopped by this place after seeing it in on Instagram and ordered a few asada / pollo tacos and a burrito. The cashiers and the cook were pretty friendly and the food wasn't bad, my observation is that the asada meat is chopped really thinly and small so some chunks tasted a bit dry like jerky and the tortilla isn't toasted and slightly warmed so it was on the chewy stretchy tasting side. The chicken tasted fine but I thought it was fire grilled and my chicken definitely wasn't want fire grilled. All in all, if I'm hungry and I happened to be driving by I'd stop in for a bite, otherwise there are other places like Taco Chico that's just a few steps above. read more

This place is absolutely lousy with their customer service. Called to place a phone order and was on hold for over 30 minutes and no one cared to even answer the phone. I can hear the guy taking orders, but didn't even think to check that someone was on the line. Who knows how long I would have waited if I hadn't hang up. You're better off going to another restaurant where they actually remember to answer the phone. read more

This is one of those mini restaurants attached to a convenience store. The menu is small but that probably means they are able to concentrate on doing those few items well. I tried the chicken Al pastor and it is the best I've had so far. read more

Heavens, I haven't had a good beef taco in a very long time. As recommended, the birria and cesina tacos were amazing. Birria was bursting with flavor and not too messy. The cesina is a steak in a taco: lightly marinated and just enough chew. Finally, a good taco place within driving distance of Irvine. read more

I had to go treasure hunting to find out if this hidden gem had some delicious tacos, because a few Instagram foodies said it had. Their Azteca Taco, a house specialty, features carne asada and nopales, and I went for it. I should have had three because it was so good. The friendly and outstanding service was the highlight. Been wanting to come here for quite a while. It is basically a former gas station turned into a quickie mart with a taqueria and a Paleteria attached. The tacos are about 3 bucks each not expensive but definitely not "the score". Having said that, the meats are of a higher quality, and they give a fair amount. The tortillas are well toasted and also of higher quality level. All in all, it's good food for a good price. Come get it read more

This is the hidden gem you've been looking for! The birria tacos are loaded, top quality, and full of flavor. The only thing is that their operating hours are limited and no place to eat inside or out (also no AC). This is located inside a convenience store which also has a small La Michoacana Ice Cream. They have a great variety of soda options and flavors as well. If you're craving for great tacos/burritos. This is the place to go. read more

The birria tacos were very good, I got mine with cheese! However, I wasn't a fan of the cesina tacos. I thought it would be more smaller strips of steak but it was more so a longer flank steak that was well done. Not my preference but it is a very popular choice. This hole in the wall taco restaurant was inside the corner market place, they also have la Michoacána ice cream inside. The people were very friendly and welcoming! The owner, Z, was inside and took care of my order and any other items that I needed purchasing. He was very friendly and gave me recommendations on the most popular tacos and educated me on the neighborhood since I was a new customer. Those are the type of conversations that keep customers coming back. I would definitely be back when I'm in the area! read more

Tacos were awesome! We had the Cecina and Asada. Only hiccups were that we ordered two Cecina tacos with cactus, and we didn't get any cactus on ours, however, they happily gave us cactus when we mentioned the tiny mishap. Otherwise, the folks here couldn't have been nicer and we are happy to support local business. Only room for improvement is we tend to like more lime, so a wedge per taco is our preference, ask for more as they only gave us two wedges for four tacos. read more

The food and service were both exceptional. I had the Asada California Burrito, and it did not disappoint. It was massive, and you can't beat the price. They had two salsa options , green and red , I tried both, but the green salsa is where it's at. They have a couple of two seater tables outside if you wish to enjoy your food there. This review is for their California al pastor burrito. The burrito was huge but it lacked balance. It was very wet and saucy. It needed less sauce with more onions, cilantro and beans. I couldn't taste anything but the wet sauce and it became too much. Their green and chipotle salsas are good. Wasn't feeling the red salsa. The red salsa was bitter, spicy and lacked flavor. read more

If you mean Pozole, no I don't think so. It's not on their menu but you can call and find out ! It's a traditional Mexican Soup or Stew made from Hominy, and meat. Then it's seasoned and garnished with shredded lettuce, onions and cheese !

It can get busy at this restaurant so know that there will definitely be a wait! It's a popular one Once you're seated, everything is super quick! Service was great and the food came out so fast. My husband and I ended up ordering: Manaao Thai Iced Tea, Green Curry with Beef Rib Eye & Roti, Pad Thai with Beef, Manaao Pork Jowl, and Thai Pandan Custard with Coconut Ice Cream on 6100 Sourdough Milkbread for dessert (limited quantities). What a fantastic meal! We ended up with enough leftovers for lunch the next day and I was so happy Everything was so delicious in its own way!!! The Manaoo Thai Tea (4/5): way different than a milky Thai Thea! It felt more soda adjacent and was refreshing and limey Green Curry with Beef Rib Eye & Roti (5/5): SOOO good and SPICY! Plus the roti was flavorful and crisped to perfection. Probably one of the best curries I've ever had Pad Thai (5/5): one of the best pad Thais I've ever had! What really stood out was the viscosity of the sauce. It was perfectly glossy and thick. Loooved the texture of everything from the noodles to the sauce to the tofu! I did think the sauce was a little on the sweet side, but I think that's just my personal preference. Coconut ice cream was a bit on the icy side but still good. The Pandan custard was thick and velvety. A delicious dessert! I will absolutely be back! Can't wait to try more

I ordered the Inaka soba, which was very savory and flavorful. The bowl included tororo, mushrooms, bonito flakes, shredded nori, green onions, and an egg. I enjoyed the nutty buckwheat flavor from the soba noodles and the clean taste from the light dashi broth. My husband had the curry udon with beef. The curry was aromatic and came as a silky, soup-like consistency that coated each udon noodle nicely. It had a deep umami flavor. The udon was the ideal texture - thick and chewy. As for the beef, it was very tender. We shared a crunchy roll on the side. It was cut into 8 pieces. Every piece was super crispy and delicious. The main flavor came from the eel sauce, so it tasted very sweet and savory.
