This place is a must try!! I have been 3 times is the past week, and I enjoyed it every time. My family ordered different salads which were all enjoyable! We had "The Buff N Cluck", "Santorini", "Chicken Caesar Salad", and the "Beef Stro" salads. The baked potato is amazing! I got the chili cheese baked potato with added bacon and steak and omg it was great and so full of flavor. I got the piña colada smoothie and it was so delicious, as are the other ones I've tried in the past. I was able to sample the soups and the chili and all of them are delicious. My favorite might be either the broccoli & cheddar or the chicken tortilla. I sampled the juices as well and they all taste fresh and delicious. They're all organic! My new favorite is the mandarin. I tried their açaí and it is also really good! I'll definitely be back to get an actual açaí bowl soon. This place is always clean, including the bathroom. Great customer service as always, and nice to dine in. Thank you! 10/10 I will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

I can't believe I've missed out frequenting this spot. Fresh, tasty and so many choices. A perfect salad, soup and baked potato restaurant. I got the chicken Waldorf salad which needed a little more dressing but it was good. The clam chowder was delicious. We were given samples of other soups and all were very delicious. I believe they make everything in house.

Food is always fresh. Healthy ingredients that make you feel good. Customer service is always wonderful. The staff always greets you and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The restaurant is clean, bright and comfortable.

For a $10 smoothie (LG) $7 (reg) with limited smoothie options I was expecting something super yummy. My group and I were in the area and saw smoothies advertised outside, we swung by and thought our drinks were a little too sweet and not as fresh/tropical as we expected (I know, it's more of a food spot nor a tropical food spot) but a girl can dream! My friends green drink was okay, she got the regular size and ended up throwing away the last of it. lots of seating and no wait. Great customer service from the gentleman in the front & menu options! I'd come back to try the food options but skip the smoothie.

Walking into The Toss Up for the first time to a warm greeting by owner Rick and teamsters. Food and drinks are amazing. Lots of flavor in this healthy comfort food. Now one of my go-to spots when I return home to visit.

I ordered the salmon and shrimp over the broccoli cheddar baked potato with extra broccoli cheddar sauce . I have been here several times and the food is always delicious and full of flavor and the customer service is amazing. The owner has been there each time and I didn't expect him be as nice or as welcoming and as he was as most owners are more behind the scenes. he makes you feel like family when you walk in, their hospitality is next level. The place is always neat and clean a great place to dine in alone or with family and friends. I would definitely recommend this place again and again!

The very first thing that I noticed was the cleanness of this Establishment and the warm warm welcoming smiles along with the greeting. The Service of the cashiers that have assisted me have been Stellar each one has assisted me with making my choices from their menu very knowledgeable and clear with their ingredients and even letting me know that their salads can also become a wrap if you like. So far I have eaten the Cobb Salad and the Baja Wrap both are very yummy the chili and the Clam Chowder soup are amazing The specialty drink I had was also delicious can't think of the but it's looks like maybe pineapple. Over all you can dine in the atmosphere is great! Clean you can watch your food being prepared with a little music and Television to keep you company and the staff sometimes walks around and offer you samples of their soups and specialty drinks and the owner Kevin even comes from behind the counter to make sure everything is OK Most importantly the owner hires young ladies and men from the community. The Toss Up definitely has a FOR LIFE CUSTOMER the Soup Salads and Wraps are Amazing with homemade salad dressings and sauces

I finally had time to sit down and do this review I've ordered from them a couple of times after my daughters told me about the place - and let me tell you... The Toss Up! They always Boss Up! Let's start with the packaging - because presentation begins before the first bite. It's like trying to get into Fort Knox You literally have to cut your way in, and I LOVE that. It guarantees your food is sealed, fresh, and not tampered with. Now let's talk about the food... whew! Whether it's their fresh, delicious salads or these humongous, fully loaded potatoes, the quality is always on point. Everything is flavorful, well-seasoned, and made with care. And that chili?! I don't know if it's homemade, but it definitely tastes like it. And if it's not - keep doctoring it up, because it is DELICIOUS! Rich, hearty, and full of flavor. Thank you, The Toss Up! Because like JJ would say... well, if you know, you know; DY-NO-MITE!

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in explaining the menu since it was our first time. I love the idea of a fast casual eatery that has healthy options. And I don't think I've seen another place in the area that has big baked potatoes on their menu! The food was tasty, the space was clean and I loved that they were playing 90s/2000s R&B videos on the screen. No issue parking in the adjacent lot when we arrived, but I could see it getting a bit busy during lunch times with other restaurants in the same plaza. Looking forward to coming back!

When you're in the mood for something healthy yet tasty, The Toss Up has been my go-to for salads! They have a good variety of set options or you can build your own. My favorite is their Baja Salad. It comes with romaine, mixed greens, corn, black beans, red onion, cherry tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, cheddar cheese, tortilla strips, and grilled chicken. I appreciate the variety of fresh ingredients in this salad! It usually comes with a spicy jalapeno dressing, but I prefer their BBQ Ranch. "The Toss Up" Cobb is pretty good as well. This one has romaine, cherry tomatoes, avocado, hard boiled egg, cheddar cheese, bacon, roast turkey, bacon, and red onions. All of their salads come with a piece of flat bread. too. Their pre-set salads are definitely a better deal than if you try to select each ingredient when you build your own bowl. Another thing I like about The Toss Up is they have other pasta, baked potato, and soup options in case you feel like you need something extra on top of a salad. We tried their Loaded Baked Potato Bowl and their Cheddar Broccoli Baked Potato Bowl, and they were HUGE! Definitely good for sharing. We usually order online ahead of time, and the estimated wait time always seems oddly long, but sometimes when we get to the restaurant, there aren't too many people there. Not sure if the estimated pick up time system needs to be calibrated?

Tried this place for dinner while in Long Beach and not only was the food amazing but the staff and service were fantastic. We ordered the loaded backed potato which is large enough to feed 2 People. They spared NO bacon on it and the flavor was great. We also ordered the Baja chicken salad with jalapeño ranch dressing and this dressing made the salad. It had the perfect spice level and was the perfect consistency. I only wish they sold it in-store so I could take it home. While we were eating we were served samples of their soup which included chilli, tortilla, tomato and basil, and clam chowder. ALL of the soups were delicious but my favorite was the tomato and basil. I needed a grilled cheese sandwich, a blanket, and my favorite TV show to top off that soup. Lastly we were greeted by a gentleman named Rick. Not sure if he's the owner or chef but he was so warm and friendly and made our visit even better. I highly recommend this location, the food, and the great people that work there.

Word to my people. This new spot called the Toss Up Baby let me tell you so delicious. The ambiance is so peaceful and sexy cool. The service was impeccable. Never did I ever think I'd be leaving a review at a restaurant who's bread and butter... does not come from bread and butter, let alone giving it 5 stars. Our visit took place midweek about 20 minutes before closing, as we walked through the door I expected to hear a sigh or two as we were coming in so close to closing. Instead we were greeted by the entire restaurant and a cashier more than willing to give us the run down of the ENTIRE menu in less than two breathes. I went with his suggestion of the Cobb salad-no substitutions. I felt the price was ok... a bit on the higher side, until the food arrived at our table and saw the portion. It looked amazing and tasted even better, the ingredients were so fresh and without realizing I was scarfing it down faster than an animal style double double. The portion was filling and I couldn't get enough. I'm not entirely sure if this is the healthiest option but if I ever "die by salad"... I hope it's this salad. To the staff, you guys are awesome and I'm glad we stumbled in here and hope to have the same experience every time we visit. read more

It was super soft and fatty and ended with a heavy pleasant fishy flavor. The miso grilled cod was great. Not much to say about it was almost creamy and the miso was good. I ate the skin too and it tasted great. The main part of this place is the soba. The kikouchi soba are thicker 100% buckwheat noodles that were very well cooked and pleasant to eat. The Plum "Ume" broth was so refreshing and nice. I ate it cold; I probably would have preferred it hot but the is just a personal preference. The Ginger Pork was great. The pork itself was super gingery without being too pungent. The shredded cabbage was super easy to pick up and eat and the side of noodle salad and miso soup were great complements to the meal. I can tell no corners were cut anywhere and that Otafuku puts a little of effort into every meal they prepare. There is great care for all of the preparations and it was a very special meal. I felt like I was in Japan for a second as the feel of the restaurant is very "homey" and the ambiance is a nice cheerful atmosphere.

I usually go to Oakobing in Ktown, but I'm so happy to have a place this good much closer to home. My husband and I recently stopped by for the injeolmi bingsoo, and it absolutely blew my mind. It came topped with red beans, a rich peanut butter-like paste (I'm not exactly sure what it was, but it was delicious), a generous dusting of injeolmi powder, and condensed milk on the side to drizzle over everything. As you dig into the fluffy shaved ice, you're rewarded with surprise chunks of chewy mochi hidden throughout, and I believe there were even more red beans waiting at the bottom. Every bite was packed with flavor and texture. It was so good that I'm craving another bowl just thinking about it. *Drools* I'm not sure how busy it gets during the day since we've only visited after dinner, but we've always found plenty of parking. It's the perfect dessert spot to cool off on a hot summer evening, and definitely one I'd recommend if you're in the area.

Somewhere along the way Oncle became Noon, the cakes and coffee gave more ground to bingsoo and the place changed enough that I still occasionally catch myself comparing what is there now with what I remember being there before. That may be part of why I have kept coming back. I remember Oncle being one of those easy little places where the service felt unusually attentive. Young guys behind the counter who seemed genuinely engaged, checking on things, keeping the room moving, making the whole experience feel cared for. Noon still occupies the same address and the bones of a good dessert shop are obviously still there, but the experience today feels considerably more transactional. The bingsoo itself is not bad. The machine is doing what it is supposed to do. The ice has that fine, soft, almost snow like texture that separates good Korean bingsoo from somebody simply attacking a block of ice with machinery. The problem, for me, is everything they put on top of it. I have tried enough of the menu at this point that I don't think this is a matter of choosing the wrong flavor. Strawberry, mango, the more elaborate combinations they consistently lean too sweet. Syrups, sauces, creams, fruit. Eventually all that sugar begins flattening the very thing that makes bingsoo so good. The delicacy of the ice itself. Instead of tasting individual ingredients, you start tasting sweetness in several different costumes. That is where Noon loses me compared with the better versions of this dessert. A great bingsoo lets you keep eating because nothing overwhelms anything else. Here, a few spoonfuls in, I'm usually wishing someone had simply stopped adding things. Then there is the experience of going. Parking in this plaza at the wrong hour can turn dessert into a minor logistical exercise. The lot is tight, dinner traffic makes it worse and the alternative is hunting around outside. Once you make it in, seating operates with that awkward first come first served ambiguity where someone who ordered after you can apparently have a table secured while you stand there holding dessert and waiting for another group to leave. The room itself often feels oddly unattended. Tables linger before being cleared. Surfaces can feel sticky. Nobody seems particularly responsible for making the dining room feel reset between customers. When it gets crowded, all of that compounds. People hovering for seats, groups talking over one another, trays sitting around, everyone negotiating the room themselves. None of this makes Noon terrible. That is probably the important distinction. The actual shaved ice is good. Some of the combinations are enjoyable. There are plenty of people who will probably prefer the sweeter style more than I do. And clearly the place has found an audience. Noon's current social presence identifies it as a Gardena bingsoo shop at this same Western Avenue location. I just find myself wondering why I keep making the effort. Maybe some of it is nostalgia for Oncle. Maybe I keep hoping the next visit will recover whatever made the old place feel more personal. But when getting dessert requires fighting for parking, negotiating a table, sitting in a room that feels half managed and then eating bingsoo that is considerably sweeter than I want it to be, there are easier ways to spend an evening.

The food at this restaurant is not only healthy, but also delicious. The customer service is exceptional, thanks to the owner Rick who is always welcoming and full of positive energy. The menu offers a variety of options including salads, soups, and wraps, and I highly recommend trying the build-your-own salad with fresh greens, cilantro, peppers, and sauteed mushrooms with salmon. I had an incredible experience at TossUp, and I just have to share how amazing the customer service is! On my first visit, one of the employees was so friendly and took the time to explain the menu, offering great suggestions. The next day, I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, who was equally kind. He even let me sample the dressings to find my favorite and offered a taste of the soup, which was a nice touch. What I love about TossUp is that they offer more than just salads--they have delicious potatoes, pasta, and smoothies as well. The food itself was fantastic! As you can see from the picture, everything is beautifully prepared, with fresh ingredients chopped perfectly for easy eating. This is my first time but I saw this beautiful building and sign and was drawn to it. I had been wanting to eat more healthier living a healthy lifestyle especially during the given circumstances of health problems during the pandemic. Today, I went to a restaurant called The Toss up in Gardena,and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was exceptional. The gentleman who took my order was kind, knowledgeable, and provided great recommendations. I actually came here because of The LA Try Guy's post on Instagram, and let me tell you--it was worth it! Sooo I just wanted to say that I was told about this new hot spot in Gardena called The Toss up. It's a new customized salad restaurant. let me just say this place is awesome!. So many good food options. I came in earlier this evening and ordered a Baja salad and a build your own salad for me and my boyfriend. Both salads were very delicious! The jalapeño dressing and house made ranch tasted amazing as well! Not to mention, they have such a sweet and great staff that greeted me as soon as I walked through the door. Thank goodness! finally a customized salad restaurant in the south bay . I had lunch at The Toss Up today. Let me just say, not only was the logo and place beautiful. But the entire set up, salad choices and location is perfect. My wife, kids and I had the mango pineapple smoothies along with the Toss Up Cobb salad, the chicken Caesar and the shrimp alfredo. I just had the most incredible experience! From the second I stepped inside, I was warmly greeted by the cashier who asked if it was my first visit. Once I mentioned it was, they happily walked me through the menu and even offered me a few mouthwatering samples! The owners are absolutely delightful, and the employees radiate such positive energy. In my mind every second mattered. Any delay to my day's agenda was like a dagger to my productivity. I am sure most people have experienced this feeling--- the feeling of urgency that is only reduced when the world and all its people and varied moving components unify to support what one wants. But rarely does the globe begin working like clockwork for just one person, especially when that person is in a self-prescribed time crunch. But on this day Alberto and the other workers of Charki's kind-of unified for little ol' me. I got there three minutes early. They open at 11:00 a.m. and I got there at 10:57 a.m. I have been in these situations before, a place does not open till they should. so I knew I had to wait, regardless of my needs and urgencies. Plus, they might have felt that those three minutes mattered them, not only per set opening time, but those minutes might have provided them the time needed to get their frying oil to the correct temperature. Or those three minutes would have gotten their own mind ready for the day, or they just didn't feel like opening minutes early, which is valid. Case in point, someone can wake up three minutes before their alarm rings or they can decide to stay in bed for an additional three minutes because those three extra minutes under the covers are more than great, they are treasured ticks belonging to me and no on else. On this day, instead of owning their three minutes and keeping me waiting, Alberto opened early. I know I did not get early access to Bergdorfs on Black Friday, but someone someone gave up three minutes that were theirs and that feels like a gum drop sea parted when I wanted no sweets, only carrot sticks. I made a beeline for the bathroom. I was given a key attached to a ladle that looked line one of those backscratchers. Before I entered I ordered their teriyaki plate. I came out, my food was ready soon, and I could continue completing tasks as I ate. The plate was well composed, a nice bulging green salad, Salmon teriyaki that did not taste coastal fresh but for the price point held its own just fine, and two nice and big scoops of sticky white rice. The food is solid, plentiful, and easy to enjoy. As I left, I realized I left the key inside the bathroom and now it was locked. I apologized to another staff member and instead of giving me a grimace or a sigh, I was just told don't worry. I am not sure how they fixed my faux pa, they could had a spare, I know they did not call a locksmith, but I appreciated that I was not made to feel bad over my error caused by my rush. The experienced felt like a ballet company was moving to support my day's agenda, when ticks mattered most. And like I said above, that feeling is just great!
