For a $20 salad, I really expect it to be good..really good. Its really a hit or miss and mostly a miss at this place. I have been here 3 times and two I have been disappointed. I wont ever be back. My salad today was so soggy and nasty, It is not edible. Truly disappointing. I ordered online a 1030am for pickup at 12. It tastes like they let my salad sit out for those entire 2 hours. Completely disappointed. Got the Cobb salad (looked amazing on Yelp) absolutely terrible. Payed 4$ extra for chicken and they forgot to add it on..they forgot the avocado as well, gave me the wrong dressing. I will re-rate this after my second visit and it probably should be a one. But, the young lady who helped me was especially considerate given both when I called her earlier in the PM to see if they could do take out (all the websites say "doesn't do take out" and I thought that was strange so I called and found out that they do take out and have a few tables outside. I told her that I would call back later to order: that this was the first time trying their menu. The menu is blurry online so my old eyes was having a difficult time. They have a few salads that already have a recipe but didn't appeal to me. I liked that you could substitute items, online sites, like Doordash and Yelp and was pretty easy to navigate. I decided to "Build my own salad" so I called because there was only the delivery option and I wanted take-out. Granted I had a number of unusual requests and the gal that answered the phone (the one I spoke to earlier) took my ordered. First, I wanted Kale, Arugula, and Kale for greens. The register would only let her put 2 but she was able to rectify it by putting in a "note." (some of the menus that you see will not show arugula as a choice. You get 4 choices as salad additions that comes with the base price of $10 (you will see some menus at $9). There's and extensive list of adds for $.50 and $1.00 premium adds plus a large list of salad dressings. I ordered beets, edamame, daikon sprouts, and red onion. They didn't have the beets that was their own menu. I substituted sautéed mushrooms but asked them to make them raw. Guess they can't do it. I was told that they were sautéed in olive oil for 30 seconds and then marinated. I told her that my oil is limited and I was worried (with the salad dressing). She noted to use light oil on the order (didn't understand why, if they were sautéed it in light oil that they couldn't just put them in raw. I also ordered tomatoes and purple cabbage ($.50 each) and a premium add of artichoke hearts ($1.00). I also ordered my salad dressing on the side because some of the restaurants mix it in. I don't eat much at one sitting and dressing will make salad soggy. I got home to find my salad totally wet and knew that most of it would be wasted. Also, even though it was tossed, all the edamame was on the bottom in a corner, the artichoke hearts on top in a corner and the rest mixed. The dressing was on the side as requested but the salad was wet with more dressing than I would normally use. After a series if 3 separate phone calls (1st call: the same young lady called to give me a refund-told her I paid cash; 2nd call: she offered me my next salad free; 3rd call: she said the manager said they would have one delivered). They also called to say that the person who made the salad did put the dressing on the side but the "wet" was from the mushroom marinade. Geez, if I added the dressing, it would've been more wet. If you're a small eater, order everything wet on the side, including tomatoes. Suggested: if you have veggies at home, order what you don't have as toppings. In fact, it might be prudent for them to ask whether customers want it mixed. I did end up squeezing some lemon on the portion I was eating. Don't know what the rest will look like tomorrow. I did add some spinach and sesame seeds from home. Everything was fresh. Because of the effort made to make sure that they took care of me, I gave a 2. As I said before, they invited me back so I will update this review then. read more
