I went to this moderately fancy, pretty popular Pan-Asian spot with one of my groups a while back, where, as usual, we split a lot of main dishes. They are a sister restaurant to the even fancier Chinese Tuxedo, with a menu that leans primarily towards ASEAN/Southeast Asian countries. The place was slightly loud and somewhat dim for photos, but thankfully, we were in a separate room, so the noise was muffled. The food was overall pretty good, though I prefer some other spots. This is especially given the price point, but it is nice to have solid representations of food from many different countries. To drink, I remember not being in the mood for a cocktail, so I went for the $14 Fiery Forge with Pathfinder hemp spirit, Lyre's Italian orange, pineapple, five spice, and pomelo soda. It had mild spices and a lot of citrus, and it was decent. The first dish that arrived happened to be the best, the $38 Crispy Lamb Ribs with a Cambodian sweet & sour sauce. The ribs were crispy on the outside while remaining very tender inside, with the fat properly cooked as well. I was also happy that they weren't overly sweet either. This was very tasty and one of our easy favorites. The Roasted Duck Breast for $32 with Chinese celery, Thai basil, dragon eye fruit, and plum dressing was also solid. The duck was cooked nicely, being tender with a mildly fatty texture, and the dressing was thankfully not overly sweet. I do wish there was a bit more dragon eye fruit/longan, but it was solid. Also tasty, but the most expensive, was the 'Crying Tiger' Grilled Sirloin Steak for $46 with aromatic herbs, spicy tamarind dressing, and toasted rice. I have had this dish, also known as Suea rong hai, in many Isan/northeastern Thai spots, and this was solid. The steak was cooked nicely, and the dressing had a mild kick, with some roasted chilis for those who want a bit more heat. My only complaint is that I wish this were also served, as per usual, with sticky rice, as it's already a pricey version of this dish, and even cheaper places serve this traditional accompaniment. The Newton Circus Sambal Stingray, for $28, with roasted skate and sambal belachan, was alright. It was comparable to most Malaysian and Singaporean spots serving this dish, though I preferred a slightly stronger sambal at some spots, and the fish was cooked better at others. The portion size was also daintier, although at least we didn't have to deal with the fish bones. For a better version at a reasonable price, I highly recommend Wok Wok nearby, on Mott Street near Confucius Square. Last and least was the Singaporean Chili Crab Fried Rice for $28 with hand-picked Jonah crab and lobster oil. This is famous here, and I don't really see it. I liked the fried rice's seasoning and crunch. However, the sweet chili sauce overpowered whatever little crab there was. For a similar price, I would recommend the nearby Phoenix Palace, which had more crab flavor and was more balanced. The food overall was good. If this were in another neighborhood, I would probably recommend it more, but there are other spots for ASEAN food that are a bit more reasonably priced and of better quality. It's still good, though, and certainly better than many other Pan-Asian places. This would be another 3.5, but that doesn't exist, so I'll round up.
Food is always delicious and packed with flavor and spice! It was really nice going at off hour on a Sunday afternoon, where we could take our time. The setting is also really nice (sufficiently chilled despite having the windows open) and service is solid. Loved every dish we ordered today. I'm also a huge fan of their noodles with oyster mushrooms but didn't have enough room for another dish today. Their cocktails are also delicious and not too sweet.
I stumbled upon this place while exploring the area. I was able to get a seat with no wait early on a Saturday. I ordered the oyster, scallop, crab fried rice and dessert. The oysters were delicious and a nice spice. The scallop was also good but very expensive 12 for 1. The crab fried rice was flavorful and had nice crunch on top. The drinks were good. Now what brings this review down was the service and dessert. The dessert was horrible and I couldn't even eat it but no one asked why they didnt ask to replace it or remove it from the bill and it was nasty, the texture and flavor were off idk if that's how it was intended but dont order it. I dont know if I would return here while I enjoyed the food it was overly expensive and the experience wasnt too great to pay that amount when other thai restaurant are a better time.
Beautiful venue with great ambience. Really loved the famous lamb ribs, which my husband said just fell off the bone and had amazing flavor. I also thought the water spinach greens were spectacular, and my fried chicken had a very interesting subtle flavor. Not greasy at all! The portions were small, and the service was very strange. They brought two dishes before they brought us our cocktails and the next two dishes long after we had finished our cocktails and the rest of our food. Hence the four stars. But a lovely place for an upscale Asian meal.
Came here just for drinks and a snack at the bar. I got a tequila based cocktail (I believe the Divine Image) and really disliked it. I found it too sweet and off putting and couldn't have more than 2 sips. The bartender didn't seem to notice. I shared a bowl of Singaporean chili crab fried rice with a friend and it was meh at best (a little too spicy for me bc I'm a baby but overall I just thought it didn't taste that great). It's quite loud inside and pretty crowd so best to probably make a reservation.
I had a pleasant surprise at "The Tyger" and gave them 5 stars. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating and are usually fully booked on a Saturday night. We got there a little after 6:30 pm and the only way to get in due to reservations, was to agree to give up the table by 8:00 pm. Not something I would normally do, although I was looking to do other things and desert elsewhere so I was ok with it. There is normally a 90 minute time limit even for a table of four on a Saturday night. Other days, especially Sundays do not have a limit. They are located at the foot of SoHo, Chinatown and Little Italy. Afterwards, we walked around the corner and literally walked into Little Italy. I felt like I was in Sicily or Naples. They offer Southeast Asian Cuisine, a full selection of cocktails, beer, liquors, and a fairly extensive wine list. They are concerned with their guests health safety and the first thing they ask you is if you have any allergies or food concerns. Their menu offers vegan options , gluten free and shellfish free options as well. The menu is broken down to raw, small plates, vegetables, rice and noodles, and deserts. Our server Erika was great, was very helpful and assured us that although we were on a time constraint we would not be rushed. Nicely decorated, very polite and attentive staff, the severs and cleaners were all wearing rubber gloves. Everything was spotless and had a clean look. Prices are a little on the high side, although that's Manhattan. We had the chicken skewers and the beef skewers. It was amazing how much flavor the chicken skewers had. Next was the spring rolls, you get four pieces and they weee not oily had also were excellent. My favorite dish was thePad Thai noodle with shrimp. You get five large shrimp that were cooked perfectly. They were moist and delicious. The last dish was the Singapore Chili Crab Fried Rice. Also excellent with a nice kick. All in all had a great time, would definitely go back and recommend turn highly.
I'm still recovering from a full-blown food coma and honestly, zero regrets. I keep going back, and at this point, it's a serious (and delicious) addiction. Here's what did the damage: The Steak Tartare was a bold, perfectly seasoned, and the ideal way to start the night. The Hamachi Crudo was light, clean, and beautifully balanced. The Shiitake Mushroom & Glass Noodle Spring Rolls with sweet chili and peanut sauce were comforting (even if they didn't make it to the photo roll!). The Pan-Fried Pork & Shrimp Dumplings were an absolute flavor explosion , crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. The Pan-Roasted Maine Scallops were cooked to perfection, with flavors that truly lingered. And then came the showstoppers : the Singaporean Chili Crab Fried Rice (don't question it, just order it.. it's perfect) and the Roasted Sea Bass in Banana Leaf in Turmeric infused coconut curry, which was pure island bliss, fragrant and melt-in-your-mouth tender. We ended strong with the Grilled Sirloin Steak, because you can simply never go wrong with a beautifully cooked steak infused with Aromatic Herbs, Spicy Tamarind Dressing, Toasted Rice. The service was quick and warm, adding to the overall experience.
Went to The Tyger on a Friday night with two friends at dinner time. I highly recommend making reservations like we did! It's a very popular spot. The ambiance is very classy and with the bright airy space you felt transported to a new location. While there wasn't loud music playing (don't recall any at all actually) there was never a moment of silence due to the bustling conversations at every table. This is definitely a place to come with people to enjoy conversation and vibe. Our waiter Sarah did an excellent job of getting us started. While the menu items are familiar (pad Thai, fried chicken) the spin the restaurant puts on it and specifically the small details makes it extra special but can be overwhelming if you don't have someone to explain it to you. She let us know what dishes are popular, what dishes to steer away from if spicy is not your thing, and how many dishes was a good amount to be shared amongst our group. We each tried a different one of the 3 mocktails - all yummy and beautifully crafted. The fried chicken was yummy but the star was certainly the sauce it came with which I ended up drizzling all over the squid fried rice- yum! And the deserts were an experience. I got the Passion in Paradise which was so fun to eat! There was a new burst of flavor with each bite. I left with a full belly! For my first time there I chose to try specific dishes but I want to return to try the pre-fix menu so that I can try a variety. I hope that's not just a seasonal offering!
I really really loved this place. Has amazing vegetarian food, perfect service and it has a beautiful ambiance and location. The bathroom is also beautiful ;) We had the pickles, a noodle dish and the spring rolls and I have up say that the tofu in the noodle dish and the mushrooms in the spring roll, stood out very much. The tofu was so soft and perfectly done, and the mushrooms in the spring rolls were so chewy and made the spring rolls such a dish apart from other spring rolls I've had everywhere else. I also appreciated that the spring rolls came with a lot of salad, such that they could be wrapped into a roll I had the yuzu beer and my friend had a mezcal cocktail which she really loved. The server was so attentive, took care of us and was so knowledgeable on the menu. I'll be visiting this place again and will also try out the "Chinese tuxedo" as the server recommended
Really good spot with yummy food, came by with a couple of coworkers after an event and tried the mocktails. The purple one was so pretty and surprisingly good! Feels like mango lassi but in purple color and light ube flavor. Was originally a bit unsure how the lavender will turn out and it was quite nice and not too overpowering in the floral scent. My friend also got a crab fried rice and that was good too in flavor! Beef skewer was good too but small in portion. Will be back to try other items another time. Friendly and quick service.
Came to The Tyger on a Friday night and was seated right away since it wasn't too busy. The hostess and our server were both super nice, which made for a good start. I tried the Singaporean chili crab fried rice, the octopus with basil and watermelon, and the morning glory. The fried rice had really nice flavor and spice, but I wish there was more crab in it. The octopus dish had a great citrusy kick and I loved the idea of pairing it with watermelon. Although, the watermelon was a little mushy. The morning glory wasn't my favorite this time; it tasted a bit tough and mostly stems. I've been here before and really enjoyed it, so I'm chalking this up to an off night. I'd definitely give it another try since I know they can be much better!
Came here with some friends on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance was very nice, the vibes were good and we all felt very comfortable. Service was another positive as our server was very professional and accommodating. She gave us recommendations from the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. We started off with drinks. A friend and I ordered a thai iced tea. Upon the first sip it was wayyyy too sweet. So much so that I couldn't bring myself to take another sip. My friend who loves sweets and has a high tolerance for sugar also admitted that it was too sweet. We asked if it could be remade less sweet and the server brought us new ones. These were also too sweet so if you prefer traditional Thai iced tea I would not recommend this one. For food, we ordered what the server recommended which was the baby gem salad, the duck, crab fried rice, and lamb rack. We also got the steak tartare as an appetizer. For the salad, it was nothing special- lettuce and toppings/dressing, not even other vegetables included. The steak tartare was pretty good, flavors were pretty well balanced. For the duck, the table agreed that it was the best dish ordered as it was the most unique and offered good flavors. It wasn't overcooked and we liked the bit of sweetness included with the sauce and the longan fruit. The crab fried rice wasn't as great as it could've been. The flavor seemed very one dimensional as the five spice overpowered everything else that was in it. The lamb ribs seemed promising as they were crispy and weren't dry but it was way too greasy/fatty. Overall, this is a nice place if you want to spend time with friends. The service and ambiance were the best things about our experience here. However, there can be improvements done on the drinks and food.
This restaurant really surprised me! The menu items are super unique compared to other comparable restaurants. My drink, "Naked in the Summer Beams," was a lychee, vodka-based cocktail that just tasted like juice - enjoyable but nothing to rave about. The food, on the other hand, was great. We shared the turmeric and coconut crepe, which had very fresh vegetable and a tasty sauce. Then, we had mushroom noodles, which were bursting with flavor and melted in my mouth, and the chili crab fried rice, which was unlike other crab fried rices I've had in the best way possible. We ended with this coffee tart that was the cherry on top. I will definitely be returning! read more
Sparknotes: If you love delicious cocktails and spicy food this place is for you. Go here to drink to much, eat too much and leave happy. Service: Literally had the nicest, most-informed server. She was thoughtful, gave great recommendations and just truly seemed to enjoy her job... which... wow. What we Ate/ Drank: Tyger Slushee - delicious and dangerous Secret Smiles - easy to down a couple of these without thinking Mango Makku - so good we truly (this isn't a joke) found a market that sells it the next night Charred Octopus - maybe my favorite thing we ate? Sweet, spicy, salty, fresh. So good Fingerling Potatoes - good but likely wouldn't get again. Eggplant Curry - Wowwwww. This was a real treat. And with potato buns to soak up the sauce it was delicious. Def would get again. Egg Noodles - I could eat an entire bowl of this for just me. Would get again. Cod - Definitely delicious (like everything else), though I think I'd still try something else next time. Coconut Bomb - If you don't get this we can't be friends. Everything Else: They followed safety protocols perfectly. The restaurant was clean and super trendy looking. We will certainly be back. read more

Interior designs were lovely but I've honestly had better Thai food. The price is on the higher end. All the food and drink were very mediocre. We ordered few plates to share and nothing was memorable, they were all just very average. Some dishes were on the smaller side. We had 4 people and ordered around 8 plates and wished we ordered 6-7 instead. The server will recommends 2-3 dishes per person but you definitely don't need that many. read more
Came by this place for dinner on a Saturday night for a table for 2 and got pretty lucky with not having to wait a table. The place has a lot of tables for both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a decently sized menu with a lot of unique and interesting choices. We ordered the Chicken Satay Skewers, Morning Glory Stir Fried Water Spinach, Nasi Goreng, and the Slow Cooked Beef Short Rib. The skewers were really good, the sauce packed a lot of flavor and the chicken itself was also really tender and moist. The water spinach also delicious, very minimal but tasty with a good amount of garlic flavor. The nasi goreng was also really good. This rice dish had a good combination of different textures and not being too overbearing in terms of different flavors. The egg was also a nice addition. The beef short rib was so tender and soft and the sauce that it was cooked in was really tasty and slightly spicy. Also got to try the Tyger Stripe Slushee which was a really pretty slushy cocktail. It was very strong but really tasty. Definitely recommend trying this place out if you want to try a bunch of different Asian dishes with a modern twist. There are plenty of options to choose from, including a lot of vegetarian and vegan options and also a lot of cocktails and drinks. read more

I wanted to like this. Monday dinner. Was excited for this place after mom walked by it and wanted to get it. Parties more than 2 seem to be hard to get a table unless you look more than a week in advance. Huge pet peeve when restaurants are too loud (whether because of the music or chatter) to the point I can barely hear the person sitting across from me even when I lean in. Another thing is when restaurants are too dim inside. It's not the worst here but a sign it's dark is when my eyes are shocked when my phone accidentally jacks up the brightness (or you can see the lack of clarity in my pics). Food Ordered: banh xeo, stir fried morning glory, chili crab fried rice, tyger prawns, coconut bomb Banh Xeo Idk what this is supposed to taste but the one here is aight. It's a bit tasteless alone but all good after adding the fish sauce. The base is crunchy and the coconut added nice toasty sweetness. The peppers were a little too much for me but all good after picking them out. Stir fried morning glory Surprised by the amount of wok hay in this and the fried garlic (?) on top added a nice texture. Chili crab fried rice I didn't have much appetite so didn't eat much of this. We were afraid chili would make it really spicy so asked if it can be made less spicy. It came out with the spicy stuff on the side. It's not straight up pepper flakes or something, more like crunchy puffs with spices on it. I actually like it on the side so it won't get soggy if mixed in. The crab in this wasn't apparent because it was split up into thin fibres. I guess it's a different vibe than big chunks. Tastewise it's a bit sweet but nice. It's slightly too wet though. A few more tosses to dry it up would be nicer. Tyger prawns I was excited for tiger prawns but it was a disappointment. There were five pieces of shrimp. The first two were fine but the other three were all mushy inside - to the point they fell off when I picked it up with chopsticks. They offered to remake this dish for us but it was the same situation. I really appreciate they offered to take this off our bill. I honestly still think it was the shrimp's fault because the first two were solid and I've had tiger shrimp elsewhere that's nice and crunchy. The curry is nice but first time was saltier than second time. Coconut bomb Saw a lot of yelp pics of this. Figured it must be good. I wanted to see the separate dessert menu first because their online menu doesn't have desserts. My mom was impatient and just ordered this directly. It has whipped coconut cream + yogurt encapsulating some crushed peanuts over strips of frozen coconut meat, all served on a coconut shell. It's conceptually nice but the presentation isn't as nice when the shells aren't neat. The whipped cream and yogurt tastes nice but feels like not enough substance. The frozen coconut meat was interesting but too dependent on the quality of the coconut - our's was tasteless. Also the meat was cut into stripes meaning it was quite long and inconvenient to eat. Service The waitresses were all nice and kept on checking in on us. All other times, it's hard to wave them down because they speed from one task to another. Appreciate how they offered to change the tyger shrimp and eventually take it off the bill. I didn't request for any of that but I'm satisfied with this resolution. Overall A mix between my over excitement for this and the ambiance and the lack of surprise from the food, I don't think I'll go back 3.5* read more
Absolutely delicious! This is a flavor explosion! Loved every second of this meal. The waitstaff does a great job handling recommendations, navigating dietary restrictions and also ensuring that you order the perfect amount since it's a shared experience. Each dish was one palette party after the next. You definitely need to go on a ride and taste as much as you can. The grilled king oyster mushrooms were divine. Holy baby fingerling potatoes - like these potatoes aren't messing around! Do not miss out on the eggplant curry! And the red snapper in banana leaf may be some of the most flavorful damn fish I've ever had. We ended the meal with the coconut dessert that was a velvety mousse right inside a coconut shell. It was exceptional! So damn good! I can't wait to go back. read more
Lots of hype here recently so decided to try it. Sadly the oyster mushrooms skewers are no longer available, which I was looking forward to. Instead, I ordered the beef skewers, which was tender and well seasoned. The tyger prawns in curry was our main course. The curry was a bit too salty for my taste, but the shrimp was very well made. The saltiness is the reason I gave it a four star. We also ordered the egg noodles with mushroom, which was a tiny bit oily but overall fine. It's a mediocre dish I wouldn't recommend. If I go again, I'd try the crab chili rice, which I saw a lot of other tables with. Given the amount of friends recommending this place, I expected it to be better...but perhaps I didn't order the right dishes. Cocktails taste good, and there are a lot of options. Expensive-for sure, but the flavors are creative. For two people, we ordered one app, one main, and one noodles dish. Portion size is quite small, even though they claim everything to be "family size". I think they just mean you share everything. Think more tapas for portion size. This place is quite pricy, but if your budget allows, it's worth a try given the ambience, cocktails, and creative fusion dishes. The fusion is more so coming from southeast Asian cuisines rather than East Asian cuisines, just FYI. read more

A great place to eat with friends, the Tyger is an Asian fusion restaurant with a chill ambiance, good food, and excellent service. We got the fried chicken (appetizer), morning glory (vegetable), egg noodles, and rice noodles. The fried chicken was DELICIOUS--great seasoning, light outside crisp, and zesty complimentary sauce. It had similar flavors to Taiwanese popcorn chicken, but these were a slightly elevated version, cut into long strips. The morning glory was good, but not particularly memorable. However, this may be because we didn't get shrimp paste (we had a vegetarian in the group, and they were very accommodating). The egg noodles tasted Italian, but was oddly sweet. The rice noodles dish was basically pad see ew with giant noodles, crispy (though not particularly flavorful) tofu, and lots of veggies. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're looking for a good restaurant to eat with friends. Their excellent service (fast check in, lots of water refills, attentive staff), cute atmosphere, and great fried chicken more than made up for the decent other dishes. read more
Great take on Thai / South East Asian fusion. Loved most of the dishes but some were slightly overpriced (like the salad - it was wedge lettuce with soy sauce based dressing for $14, feels more like a side salad) Ambiance is amazing and service is on point tho! Worth checking it out! read more
I really love The Tyger, which serves incredible Asian fusion cuisine, which normally isn't exceptional at most restaurants. One of my favorite items on the menu is the Nasi Goreng, which I'll probably order every time I'm there, because I love anything with black squid ink. The Pad See Ew Rice Noodles were incredible with the perfect amount of flavor and the crispiest yet fluffiest tofu I've ever tried! This restaurant is best to visit with a large group to order as many things on the menu! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu though, and I can't wait to be back! read more
The Tyger Ratings: 4.5/5 Food: 4.75/5 - This place recently has gain a lot of hype, so I had to go check it out myself. We ordered two dishes and both were insanely flavorful and phenomenal. The steak tartare comes with chili and line dressing and lemongrass topped with a crunch and crab crackers, amazing and tasty. The beef was fresh, divine, and simply delicious. I really enjoyed the crackers that comes with it, interesting way to pair it was the steak tartare. The steak was not heavy at all, actually works quite well with the fried rice at the end. We also ordered the Singaporean chili crab fried rice, and it was on another level, LEGIT the highlight. Probably one of the best crab fried rice in NYC, and beats the crab fried rice at Fish Cheeks located in SOHO. There were so much flavors and packed with crab meats, and I wiped this dish clean and fast. Light and fluffy rice, seriously fire. Ambiance: 4.75/5 - The outdoor design is so pretty with lots of outdoor dining spaces available. You cannot miss this place, the bold yellow colors and tiger prints is very visible and located near Grand Street and Chinatown. Indoor has a very classy vibe and fancy atmosphere. This place also has an Asian fusion vibe too, pretty. Price: 4/5 - The steak tartare was $22, and the Singaporean crab fried rice was $27 before tax and tips. Legit thought it was quite expensive for the portion given. Steak tartare was definitely overpriced, since portion was small, and the portion of the crab fried rice was okay. Good that we weren't that hungry in the first place. Service: 4.5/5 - Our server was nice, prompt, and constantly checked in with us about how the food was and if we needed anything else, serving us water too. They were attentive and was on point with their service, thought they were way too friendly. Our server also recommended some dishes and patiently answered all of our question, no complains. BLUF: Definitely get the Singaporean Chili Crab Fried Rice and Steak Tartare, they are a must and both were the star dishes at the restaurant. I truly enjoyed the food and experience there. read more

Tyger Tyger burning bright! This Tyger is a shining star in the middle of a concrete jungle The food at this pan-asian fusion cusine is Swipe The food, the vibe and the service were all top notch. We sat in the cool greenhouse and there was chatter everywhere. The energy was great. The City is back and we could feel the energy! Last night's birthday dinner treat by two good buddies was deeeeeelish! Big thanks to my friends Our lineup: Tuna Tartare w garam masala, pickled chilis, curry lime aioli, baby gem leaf . This was sooo good! Wrapping it up in the lettuce gave it a nice crunchy layering as well. Really good on its own as well. Sashimi of Scallops with pickled cucumbers, wood ear mushroom and aged ponzu. Australian Tyger Prawns w turmeric & coconut curry. Served with house baked potato buns. The prawns were nice and huge. The curry was flavorful like an Indian curry without a lot of heat. The buns were just right for dipping into the sauce. Probably should have poured the curry over the rice! next time! Shaken Beef Skewers w coriander chimichurri. This was really good. The meat was tender and the chimichuri perfectly done. Charred Baby Octopus with seaweed salsa verde and fried curry leaves. This was an interesting take on octopus. The fried curry leaves gave it a nice layering and different flavor profile. Layered it w the salsa verde and the curry leaves and it was Singaporean chili crab fried rice this dish is a star! So much flavor! Wiped this dish clean. Phnom Penh Fried Chicken with Lime & White Pepper Dressing. The chicken was really moist and the dressing was Miso Butter Escargot w preserved lemon and sawtooth cilantro Crispy Lamb Ribs with coconut and fish sauce caramel Fried Fingerling Potatoes w sweet chili jam and thai basil Dessert Coconut bomb. Really tasty and light. The coconut is whipped into this creamy foamy wuth little bits of coconut at the bottom. Big props to our awesome server Ellie read more

Great for a casual lunch with friends. Cocktails were amazing, loved the Tyger Stripe and the Divine Image. Food was delicious. Oysters, a noodle dish and a few vegetables, everything was tasty. Loved the vibe. Will definitely go back. read more
The Tyger is definitely an Instagrammable restaurant- it's super beautiful and the food and drinks come out looking very aesthetic. The food isn't super exceptional for the prices, but I don't think that's why anyone would come here. It's a really solid option for a birthday meal with friends or to bring people from out of town. This place is a MUST! I rave about Tyger to friends and family and they always end up loving it. I recommend making a reservation. All of their dishes yield a ton of flavors that are unique and pleasant on your palette. The best way to order is a la carte so you can share with the table. It can get a little noisy in the restaurant but it's expected for a place that is busy. The staff are also friendly! read more

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Not one dish disappointed. Me and my two other friends agree. Our waitress was amazing and gave such amazing recommendations. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious. Would love to come back and try other dishes. I was very excited to try this place upon yelp research. To keep it short, I give the atmosphere of this restaurant 5 stars. The decoration and table set up is nicely done. However, I was but disappointed about the portion and the taste of the food ( 2 stars). Also, when they ask for you to pay, the lowest option for tax given starts from 20% even though we were not a party of 6. (There is an option for others, but they literally stand and stare at the card machine that they bring to you when you are paying, which puts pressure on you to just press 20%....). I think the service did not deserve that much gratuity (2 stars). Overall, my experience here was subpar unfortunately. read more

Food was great. Had the crispy chicken, pork skewers, crab fried rice, and baby gem salad. All had good flavor. Will definitely be back. My server was amazing as well. He gave good recommendations and took care of any and every request. I arrived at 6pm right before he rush and the ambiance was nice as well. Good for a date night spot or family dinner. read more
Came here for a Friday night dinner and really enjoyed the experience! You'd definitely need to make reservations in advance if it's a weekend as the place was packed. The service was easily a 5/5 was me. The food was delicious and unique. We got the Ban Xeo, great if you like pumpkin, the egg noodles which was the star of the show for me, the Nasi Goreng which was alright in my opinion. Definitely do not miss out on the dessert. The Vietnamese coffee tart is a must-have for folks who like creme brûlée and coffee. If you'd like to get a taste of what a perfect match for the two tastes like, definitely make sure you try it! I really enjoyed my experience at the tyger. My friends and I came for NYE and I appreciated that I was able to get a reservation fairly last minute. The restaurant has a great vibe and the booths are velvet and super comfy. The service was IMPECCABLE. Friendly and attentive despite how busy the crowd was. 3 of us shared 4 dishes which was the perfect amount. The pad see ew was a bit, and the pork skewers came with a sauce that was TOO DIE FOR. Definitely recommend this spot, very impressed! read more

Delicious Thai fusion food! The ambience, menu and service is all top notch! The outdoor "greenhouse" seating is still pretty chic and matches the indoor interior. Making a reservation is best to score a table. The menu ranges from small to larger plates, all of which are encouraged to share. With a party of four- we started with the grilled mushroom skewers. Never had skewers with mushroom before! It was cooked perfectly and flavorful. Next came the escargots. It was covered in a rich miso butter that left us all drooling. So good! The house made noodles also came out coated in a nice rich flavorful yet light sauce with mushrooms. The lamb ribs were delicious. Tender, juicy and hot. My least favorite thing was the masala. It was spicy which was nice but probably would intrigue a veg-based eater more. Will definitely be back here to try more things on the menu! read more
Gorgeous restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, great staff and yummy food. We split some appetizers at the bar and they were exceptional: raw oysters topped with chili sauce and fried shallots, and Vietnamese pancake topped with oyster mushrooms are highly recommended. Deserves every star. I'll start with the hostess , he was very pleasant, and considerate. That's hard to find these days. Ambiance is so good. Chill and cool. For the food, everything was A1. Standards were beyond delicious. I also went with the Tyger stripe slushee , I felt like I was drinking citrus gold and rich charcoal. So good! The service was proper. I love it there! Like the wild cat this restaurant is named for, the chefs at The Tyger have an acute sense of smell, stylistic flair and will pounce on your tastebuds with flavor. While that analogy was dubious at best, the outdoor dining experience I had here in the dead of winter was not. In the winter of 2021, the most emphatic way to rave about a restaurant is to wax poetic about their outdoor set up, so I will do just that. I have done a fair amount of outdoor dining in sub-freezing temperatures this year and the piddly little heaters a lot of bars use have led me to purchase all kinds of wool socks and hand warmers to set me up for better al fresco dining. None of this is needed at The Tyger, because they understand that heat rises and so they place their heaters BENEATH their seats, which warmed my entire body for the several hours I was seated. I was completely comfortable in the open air booth I was in. I didn't shiver once! I should note that they have a separate "outdoor" enclosed structure that is merely an extension of their dining room but somehow qualifies as outdoor dining. It's obviously temperate and comfortable in this enclosed structure but definitely gave me pause when I considered the airflow in the space. That part of the restaurant was full though so it seems most people are less prudent than I am. You can read all the shade you want in that comment. The area I sat in was in the open air but trust me when I say I was nice and toasty throughout my meal. Onto the menu, which I'd describe as broadly southeast asian. Even the cocktails had a southeast asian flair to them, incorporating ingredients like lemongrass, ginseng, and kombu into their drinks. There's also a hot cocktail menu to warm the weather worn soul, so they really thought of everything to complete an outdoor winter meal. I highly recommend both "Poison of the Honey Bee" and "Ah! Sunflower," though the second drink is not a hot one. Since I enjoyed every dish I had here, I'd recommend ordering whatever sounds good and trust in their execution of the dish. Of note to me were the Banh Xeo, fried fingerling potatoes, and eggplant curry. Everything had a nice amount of heat on it, and it doesn't sound like they adjust the spice levels, so get ready to eat some spicy ass food. It paired wonderfully with crisp cold, winter air and I mean that earnestly. I'd normally be skeptical of a restaurant that fuses so many different cuisines onto one menu, but this restaurant quelled these suspicions and flexed so hard I had no choice but to submit to The Tyger. Had reservations with friends for a Friday night with outdoor seating. The Tyger was one of the last stops on our trip and it did not disappoint! We ordered a bunch of drinks and different things to share. Our server was great with our group and helping us accommodate outdoor seating with a baby. I was most impressed with the shaken beef skewers and the house egg noodles, but the real star of the show was the Vietnamese coffee dessert. They only had 2 dessert options at the time but trust me when I say to get that dessert. It was so good we ordered another one. If I'm ever back in New York I'll definitely be back to try more off their menu. read more

The tyger is part of the Tuxedo hospitality that also owns peachys and Chinese tuxedo. The food and drinks were good here but the highlight was definitely the steak tartare. For dinner we got the secret smiles and pride of the peacock cocktail drinks. They were $17 each. Then we got the steak tartare, miso butter escargot, Singaporean chili crab fried rice, and duck confit. Out of all the dishes the steak tartare was the best!! Shrimp chips with delectable steak tartare that was good! Second favorite was the Singapore chili crab fried rice! Subtle little spice kick was you can taste the crab and the rice itself was delicious. The escargot was a little salty for my taste and I was excited for the duck confit but it was wayy too salty for my taste as well and more dry than I was expecting. The drinks were delicious though! Interestingly, The Tyger wasn't my first choice for a meetup. My companion called an audible and suggested the place. Absolved from culpability for choosing a subpar venue, I obliged and I'm glad I did! I arrived 15 minutes early for the reservation and my companion wasn't with yet I was seated immediately. My waiter was over my shoulder right away asking if I wanted anything while I waited. Being early, I got to take a look around at the setup especially the outdoor seating. I was seated in an area they refer to as the "Greenhouse" which is open to air and has heating elements built in. The spacing laterally, separating the two-person tables from the four-person tables seemed adequate but longitudinally, I would've maybe preferred another foot or two between the two-person tables. As we were in the open air, I was ok with it though. The tables also had hand sanitizer available (which a striking few restaurants seem to have). Anyways, you guys probably want to hear more about the food, which was great! We got a couple of the small plates. The Charred Baby Octopus was really good. The seaweed it came with was surprisingly textured (Thin and chip-like). There was also more Octopus than I expected. The Fried Fingerling potatoes with sweet chili jam were literally sweet, good but sweet. So consider another veggie dish if you want to keep things savory. For mains, we ordered the Australian Tyger Prawns. This was the hit of the night! the flavors with the sauce... *Chefs Kiss.* The dish came with some bread buns to sop the sauce with (the sauce literally is finger-licking-good). I ordered the Crispy Lamb ribs which were glazed with a rich sauce as well. My companion didn't like lamb which was fine (all the more for me ;-D)! We both ordered two cocktails each. I had the "Secret Smiles" (Suntory Haku Vodka, Lychee, Yuzu) which was a perfect, light drink to start with. It was a cross between a Lychee Martini and Lemonade (I'm sure mixologists would give a better explanation than that, but this is the best I can do). I also had the "The Tyger Strype Slushee" (Volcan Blanco Tequila, Shoumei White Tea, Peach, Lemon, Smoke layered with Volcan Blanco Tequila, Mango, Lemon, Honey, Cardamon). In hindsight, it wasn't the best drink for a cool night but I liked the sound of the ingredients. It was excellent and probably hits perfectly on a summer night. The bottom line is that I really liked the place I recommend that you go. However, I have to mention that I almost took a star away for the service. It's hard to explain why but I'll give it a shot: It was extremely attentive which is great considering how often I visit a place where the staff forget about you once you have food. That gift can also be a curse, if it becomes obtrusive. During the latter parts of our visit, we were interrupted four (4) times in a short time span. Both my companion and I felt it was a noticeable nuisance. We were vibing and wanted to connect more on our own and the interruptions weren't helping. There's a way to suggest more drinks/dessert, take-home-boxes and clearing of finished items etc. without being so obtrusive (e.g. lower voice tone, slower body movements as you approach the table, slower speech cadence, handling multiple issues in one interruption etc). Take all of that with a grain of salt and judge for yourself (some of you might like or love that). Regardless, the place is definitely worth the trip! read more
