I'm not sure what's up with all of the negative reviews. Brett, our waiter, was spot on with his service. We stopped in for lunch and the restaurant was pretty busy. Brett visited our table within a couple minutes of being seated. He greeted us, introduce himself and ask for a drink order. We were undecided as to whether or not we wanted to have a glass of wine with our lunch or just stick with tea. Brett excused himself and came back shortly with a bottle of wine, suggested we try it. He made the claim that if we didn't like it, we didn't have to pay for it. Went here to celebrate getting my bachelors degree. Food was ok. Waiter was good so I gave a 20% tip, however when it cleared my account they had added an extra 10.00 to the amount I signed on the receipt. All in all 10 is not a lot of money but its the principle of it. Extremely disappointed. Wont be going back. Will be disputing the charge. Update to this review: the general manager contacted me and refunded the charges and apologized. They handled it very quickly and were very apologetic. I think I will give this place another try. Food was very good and service was good as well. Portions were pretty small. I had a blackened redfish and I don't think that redfish was caught in Texas because it wouldn't have been a legal size. My wife had a shrimp pasta and again the portion size was small but this needed a little more flavor. Son had the fish and chips and this was enough food. It took a long time before someone came by our table and we had to stop people to get anything. The only compliant I have was we were seated by the outside patio so every time the door opened the wind would blow our napkins and us. We should have asked to move but at first it was ok. I was excited to come here since I was a big fan of the one in Bellaire and was looking forward to a nice dinner 3 weeks postpartum. We went in a Saturday evening and there was a short wait. The service was below average and the same with the food. Our waitress was dismissive and seemed to rush us at ever interaction. My rose was served in a dirty class with leftover dried orange bits from what looked like a mimosa. We ordered the suggested - shrimp and crab dip which came out with a pool of oil on top of a lump of cheese. There was probably 1-2 shrimp and if there was crab, it got lost in the cheese. My husband ordered the portobello chicken which had a great flavor but the risotto was undercooked and grainy. I ordered the chicken piccata which also had a great flavor but the chicken was super soggy. I couldn't tell if there was supposed to be a crust round it, if the boiled the chicken or if it was just undercooked. We also ordered crab cakes to go and came home to the most fishy tasting, dry little crab cake patties. In summary - I feel that they offer way too many items on the menu and lack quality in their ingredients and quality of the food. Not as great as I had read the reviews for. Maybe it was just an off night for the kitchen but the food we both had was bland.

I gave this place 3 stars because it didn't have any special. I don't think anything sets it apart and has me wanting more. I had the Union Burger. Which was a decent burger. The patty was seasoned well and juicy. It came with sweet pickles, lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheese and their aoli sauce. I'm not a fan of sweet buns for my burgers. This burger originally comes with their homemade chips but I substituted it for their shoestring fries. The fries were a let down. Stick with the chips, even though when I think of a burger I think of fries. It's not a bad restaurant. My experience was fine, but the food is not anything special. My wife had the chicken burger, which she said was really good. read more

Made a reservation for Brunch on Easter Sunday. I was excited to bring my 16 month old somewhere good to eat since she hadn't been feeling well all week. The hostess staff was so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Before we could get settled in at our table they were making adjustments to the place settings and grabbing a high chair for my little one. Our waitress Alyssa was amazing. I accidentally threw my receipt away before I could get around to writing the review but I believe her last initial was an H or C. Nonetheless, Alyssa immediately flew into action seeing as how I was a mom dining alone with my baby. She shared that she has a toddler and other children at home and could relate to the experience of dining out with an active little one. As I was trying to look at the menu and keep my baby relaxed and entertained, she asked if I would like to order some fruit for baby while I decide. Since she knew the fruit cup came with blueberries, Alyssa made sure to ask if it was okay for baby to have. But just to be cautious she had the kitchen staff not to include them. During the rest of our time at the table, Alyssa continued to check in on us, give and smile or two and engage with my little one. And after receiving a side dish that we realized we wouldn't enjoy, Alyssa immediately removed it from the table. Most people would think that Alyssa was simply just doing her job but I don't take her kindness and attentiveness for granted. She did not have to provide a comfortable and welcoming experience to us on such a busy day. However I am grateful that she did. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant Tuesday night. There wasn't a bunch of people there just the polite and professional young lady seated us promptly. Our waiter was the same and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and how we ordered it. So for my 3 stars---it was freezing in the restaurant and the 70's/80'd rock music overhead was waaaay loud. I like the music but kind of want to talk and hear the person across from me during conversation. I could have went to BW3's if I wanted that atmosphere. The food was ok---it wasn't bad or anything but want great either anything. Crab cakes were sauced a lot so I would like to say they were good? My thought is if you want to like a wife date night probably not the place but for a meal to hang out with buds or a team after a match---it may be your thing. Like a Willie's or Sam's Boat kind of place feel with wine glasses. Great place for a date night. I took my date here and we asked for a patio table looking out at the lake. The staff got us a great table and the weather was almost perfect. The calamari was really good along with the peppercorn crusted ahi tuna cooked medium. My date had the grilled chimichurri hanger steak dish. We finished off dinner with a delicious bread pudding cake and then a stroll around the lake. Definitely coming back on a future date night to try the rest of the menu. read more

I dine at this restaurant often with family and friends because I like the ambiance. The service and waitstaff have always been helpful with suggestions, which is a plus. Recently I met up with some of my friends and was seated in Brett's section, by the bar area. He was such a great waiter and was always attentive to our table even when the restaurant was getting busy, which doesn't happen often in some other places. Went for the valentine menu on the 2nd weekend. The menu wasn't offered, so asked for it. Didn't end up ordering anything off of it. Had a nice old fashioned and lamp lollipops. The appetizer, calamari never showed up, so when the entrees were served, we asked about the appetizer. Later the waiter came by to see how everything was and we asked for utensils. Eventually, an appetizer showed up, albeit the wrong one. We were given 2 $10 certificates, 1 to use for the meal and another on a return visit. My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant with our kiddos. There was a short 15 minute wait to get a table, which is fine since there is a nice outdoor area near this restaurant. Our waitress was with us very quickly and we had great service the entire evening. I was happy with the wine by the glass options, some restaurants in this area don't have many good options but the one I chose was really great. They have a really cute kids menu for when kids say "I'm not hungry" or "I don't want that" AND it has pictures for the young ones. I really liked that I can show my 3 year old the menu and she could just point to what she wanted. The food was pretty good and the ambiance was awesome for kids, so we will visit here again in the future. I don't think this would be my first choice for a dinner with my husband, but it was really enjoyable for dinner with my kids. We will be coming back! read more
