We live in Palm Springs, there is a Upper Crust Pizza there which has very good food. So when we came to the one in Bishop we asked if this was a franchise and they said yes. We thought great we love Upper Crust at home. Well, we were very disappointed, hardly any sauce or cheese and not near the same amount of toppings. First the house salad was awesome second what they call a cheese steak I call a hot roast beef sandwich the bread was home made and wonderful. This place is great food and great service. My ONLY complaint is their staff doesn't seem too solid on their menu-but I'm picky as hell and could have been asking pretty odd questions, lol. So... I called with TONS of questions as it was my first time ordering and had a large order ($78). When I went to pay with my credit card I was shocked when it was declined because I had just pushed a decent sum of $$$ of out my savings and into my checking. Since it took us some work to compile the order (maybe 10-12 mins or so) the cashier said she would keep the order and for me to call back after calling the bank. Soooooo-I called the bank and they said (after a lot of back and forth) that they could see I has electronically made the transaction but my account couldn't be officially "credited" of making that transaction until after midnight. Grrrr. This was my OWN money-not an unknown check. Just moving cash from one account to another. So sadly I had to call back the pizza place and they were SO accommodating. I'm here from the Midwest where people are kinda nice but Bishop blows them all away. I told her my problem and apologized for taking up all of her time earlier for no reason. She has me hold on while she consults her manager. Turns out while waiting for me to call back they had MADE my giant order and it was ready to go. Maybe that's why she said she was going to go ahead and have it delivered and they would run the card the next business day!!! Now-I don't expect THAT kind of service. While I know they will get their $$$ from me (including a generous tip) THEY have ZERO way of knowing they aren't letting $78 of pizza just go out the door! I wasn't even a "regular" customer. In fact I was a new one. The food was good. Nothing to write home about but good pizza. Inventive as I got a "white" create my own pizza to which I added mini shrimp and bacon and it was good. I would always suggest thin crust but that's probably just a personal preference. There mozz sticks order is HUGE. Finally-they had a sweet potato cheesecake with a layer of MAPLE. I travel for a living and have ate cheesecake from EVERYwhere. Ill order several pieces to go from Cheesecake Factory whenever I'm in the same town as one. This cheesecake blew anything I've ever tasted out of the water. So anyways-I don't tend to write stellar reviews as I "award" them with return business but as a traveler I use Yelp approx 3x a day and the positive reviews help me as much as the negative so I thought I'd give me good review for outstanding service. read more

OMG! This is the longest we have ever had to wait for a pizza (45minutes). Never saw the waiter to tell us what was going on. A couple came in 15 minutes after us and got their order before we got ours. Had to ask a waitress if we could have our salad. She bought it to us. Ask her what was taking so long and she said a lot of take out orders? Pizza was under cooked. Waiter quoted us the wrong amount for our pizza so the service needless to say was bad and the pizza might have been good if it had been cooked completely. read more

I ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza nd hot wings. The food was decent, but needed a lot more sauce on both. Everything hinted at the flavor, but the pizza was dry. When it comes to wings and BBQ, I love to get messy. The service was average, and the prices are what to expect for the area. Was expecting a bit more for 4 stars and "gourmet pizza". I ordered the Sierra Wave with a house salad. I found the pizza to have ok flavor, but very dough-y crust and lacking in the veggie department it's described to have. The salad was adequate and a little heavy on the black olives. My party also ordered the Meat Lover pizza, and felt it was alright but not great. I am local to Bishop. The pizza isn't bad but the customer service is terrible. Ordered pizzas for a work lunch on a slow Sunday. There in 20 minutes to pay. The manager said the order was "almost ready." Not sure what "almost" means to him, but 10 minutes later I watched the pizzas go into the oven! They hadn't even prepared them. When I told him we had planned them for lunch and that 30 minutes just to make them was excessive, he got an attitude and started making one excuse after another. First he said that wasn't my order (it was) then when that didn't work tried to tell me it was because they were busy (place was nearly empty). When I mentioned that lying to a customer isn't a good management strategy he got an attitude and threw my refund on the counter. At no point did he apologize for the delay or offer anything to make up for us missing our lunch. This is the second time something like this has happened. If you have plenty of time and don't care about the quality of the service then this is the pizza place for you. Otherwise go elsewhere. Edit: So instead of responding and apologizing, here's the harassing "Yelp Compliment" this manager, Vinny R, sent. I guess this guy doesn't have a boss that cares about customer service either - harassing a customer on-line would get him fired from any other restaurant. I know there's not a lot of choice for pizza in Bishop but here's what you are going to get if you post a negative review of Upper Crust. "Im one of the managers from uppercrust pizza . If you want we can go back to the video tape and get the manager fired unless you think you did wrong. But your attitude wasn't good." read more

Best hot wings in town!!!! Me and my wife go there weekly for their lunch special as they have one of the best in town. You get a soup or salad with either a half sandwich, pasta dish, or a small pizza with 2 toppings . Great beer and wine selection to choose from. We recently Stopped in Bishop for 2 days of our 2016 Vacation... as I previously posted on 6/13/16 we love this place but the best story is what happened after our last meal there... We paid our bill and accidently left our $$$ Clip with $391.00 and to our excitement the server had turned our $$$ into the night manager and all our $$$ was returned... We got the chipotle dozen wings for my husband and the sierra pizza. We decided to order it to go so we could have it back at our hotel room. There was outdoor seating to accommodate our dog, but it was on the chillier side so we opted to do takeout. It took them about 25 minutes to get our order ready. For both of those items it ended up being just over $29. We forgot to ask for red chili flakes and extra ranch, which was our mistake. Despite our glitch on not getting our extra condiments and spices, we still enjoyed our food. The medium pizza was a bit much for us, even though we hadn't eaten all day. It has 8 slices and we had 3 leftover. We could have done fine with the small. My husband LOVED his chipotle dozen wings and finished all of them. He said the sauce on them was awesome and that this might be one of the best wings he's ever had. The pizza was pretty good too, but I think a bit overpriced for what it is. Otherwise, the flavors for everything were spot on. Just remember to ask for your spices or extra ranch before you head out since it won't be included otherwise. We will definitely check this place out again if we are craving pizza when in the area! read more

My 14 year old son gave his cheese pizza two thumbs up. Ordered the Hawaiian Pizza special for my wife and I. The pizza here is very tasty. They also have italian meals here so if you are not in the mood for pizza you can get something else why your children have pizza. The pizza crust seems to be freshly made instead of frozen. Since this location is fairly close to Mammoth, less than an hour away, you can take the leftover with you to your condo or hotel there. read more
