I feel like I really need to update my review of this place. It is the best pizza in Bishop (I know that for many that may not mean much) but really they have been here for 14 years and they give their customers good food and service. I don't really have too much to add, but if your have your friends order the pizza, you can go and get gas and return before the pizza hits the table. All that makes for a relatively quick food and gas stop that is usually less then 30 minutes. Not too bad and worth the time to sit down and enjoy a quick meal. read more

Camping in Bishop with our new dog and didn't want to leave her alone to go out to dinner. RV park recommended upper crust and we called in an order for a meat lovers pizza to be delivered. Pizza was delivered to our doorstep before the scheduled time. Piping hot and honestly the best pizza we have had in a long time! Toppings were fresh, flavorful and not overly greasy. Crust was crisp and full of flavor too. They did not scrimp on the sauce, which is our biggest peeve with other pizza parlors near our home. We debated on the two pizza places for our dinner for 7 tonight and chose Upper Crust. The BEST decision! We were a larger group so we had to wait, but only for about 10 minutes. We enjoyed salad, potato leek soup, a wonderful variety of pizza, and of course a few pitchers of beer. YUMMMY! Upon arrival it really did seem like this was the "upper crust" in pizza production. It was apparent that extra attention had been payed to ambience and the staff was friendly and sharp looking in their matching all black attire. That's about where things start to go downhill. We were seated in a booth directly adjacent to one containing at least 2 fork banging, screaming toddlers who were later released to run unsupervised around the restaurant, but that's another tangent and I have digressed. We ordered the antipasto salad and a large pizza. Everything was served on plastic dinnerware. My wine tasted like it was uncorked at least a week ago. The salad was borderline gross. The ingredients were cheap (canned black olives, bland shredded cheese, and greasy cold cuts) and anything worth eating was in aggravatingly short supply (1 1/2 cherry tomatoes per salad). The pizza was decent, but it's kinda hard to mess that one up, right? Then our bill came... $60!!!!! What!?!? I just spent $60 to eat at the adult version of Chuck E Cheese. Let that sink in for a moment. To sum things up I would obviously not come back to this establishment. For the price, the quality of ingredients and quality of experience were far lacking. read more

All around a nice friendly restaurant! Servers were prompt and competent. Ingredients were fresh and piZza was beautiful prepared - we got the rodeo with spinach instead of peppers. They easily accommodate substitutions which is great and suggests the food is made fresh. I agree with other reviewers that the crust is perfectly crunchy and chewy, and delicious. We got the Euro salad - nothing to write home about but fine and a bit interesting combo of items. The "seafood bisque " was basically cream tomato soup with small pieces of what seemed like imitation crab, admiittedly tasty but not exactly what I expected, nor very seafoody. Unexpectedly delicious! Stopped through here on the way to Mammoth from San Diego, and was not expecting too much from this unassuming establishment but was pleasantly surprised with the food. We got the Mammoth sized Rodeo (I think it's called?) pizza, and the crust was just perfect - had a great crispiness too it but was still soft. Great tasting pizza, and also enjoyed the wings very much - good breading and sauce. Great stop all around! Will definitely keep this place in mind on the next road trip! read more

Adjoing the pizza place is as nice an Italian restaurant as you could hope for. To me, the telling of good Italian is the proper use of garlic....lot's of it to flavor sauces. Oh yes, they got it right. The pasta and chicken dishes were perfectly flavored with rich cheese textures, balanced use of garlic and good flavors from salad dressings to desert. Zucchini on pizza! In our week in Bishop, we went to The Upper Crust twice! Delicious pizzas and tasty Caesar salad. The first night we split a small salad and two medium pizzas for 3 people with three slides left over. The veggie pizza with artichoke hearts was great with the olive oil sauce. And the other was pepperoni with zucchini! Second time, got one medium pizza and a pasta. Enough for 3 people again. One of the pricier dinners in Bishop, but super tasty. read more

DELICIOUS! The pizzas can get expensive if you start to add ingredients (around $1.75 a piece), but it was so tasty that I soon forgot the price. I really like that they have ingredients that not a lot of places offer, such as broccoli. There is a good selection of beers and wine, with some local brews on the menu. read more

We came in here STARVING after a day trip to Yosemite. As soon as I walked in the door I was overwhelmed by the delicious smells wafting around me. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken. Fast and efficient service, clean and pleasant decor, waiter/Vicente was very good at his job. Small antipasto saiad was very good as was my pizza. This is great choice for an italian dinner. When we left it was filling up fast. Get there early like we did. Parking is tight up front due to the Smart and Final store but if you keep going towards the back there is more than enough parking. In fact there is a Vons and Kmart with a huge parking lot so this is an ideal location for anyone hauling a trailer or boat. Just park at the Vons and walk on over. read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way through town. The food was delicious, but the service was very slow. It took 45 minutes to get our pizza. We brought it to our server's attention that there was a shard of glass in my water glass. I actually sucked it up through my straw. He apologized and admitted responsibility for it as he had broken a glass. He said he would give us a discount on our bill. He took $3 off of our $18 bill. We appreciated his apology, but thought $3 off for serving us glass was not sufficient. He should have taken off at least half. We probably will not patronize this establishment again. read more
