The older guy almost turned me away because he said he had too many boxes already. He mumbled that he was becoming a Amazon warehouse. The guy has a really bad attitude. This place is terrible and the workers are garbage. They are virtually unable to do anything but print items and ship packages. I came in to ask them about a package that was being sent to me. It could not be sent because they refused to deliver the item to a dorm, but nothing was incorrect with the address. When I inquired about how to change the address, they were not only short and curt, but completely uninterested in it willing to do a drop of customer service to assist me with my issue. Should have updated this before, but, I'm doing it now. In June, I finally found out what the problem was. It seems that, because my package was delayed TWICE, UPS only counted the reason for the first delay. This was back in December, Long Island NY, so that was a weather (snow) delay. Not UPS' problem. Gottcha. But, the SECOND delay *was* UPS' problem - the driver forgot to put it on the truck. Maybe that, too, was weather related? It was so cold that it fogged his brain? Anywho... The story wraps up like this: Ava finally figured out that the "delayed delivery" claim was rejected because "THEY" only looked at the first delay. I won't get caught up in whether or not anyone should have contacted me about that, or this UPS store could have found this out had they bothered to follow-up. When this store finally was able to uncover the problem (in June), the store owner decided to send me a check, out of good will. Not, mind you, for the whole amount (which would have been fabulous will) but for the difference in cost between ground and 2-day shipping. OK, $60 bucks back, not complaining. What have we learned from this? Well, if you finally get fed up and write on the corporate FB page, someone from the store will follow-up. And that, had the store followed-up properly at the time of the incident (end December, 2011) the owner would not have had to write me a check. Lastly, no one who works in the store is empowered to answer questions, take information, give information or knows who exactly owns the store or works there. Ava is great - if she is there, then I am all for doing business (as long as it is straight forward). I'm still hesitant about the others. Needed to ship some personal items to Connecticut...to arrive shortly after my daughter gets to Wesleyan (she's going to be a freshman). Having never shipped such a heavy package with such varied items...was a little daunting...especially with all of the stress of my baby girl moving away...across the country. We contemplated shipping via US Postal service..but decided it might be safer and smarter to try UPS. AVA was the UPS representative that assisted us. We didn't even know where to start. She explained our options, pros and cons, and offered advise that left us feeling we had made the perfect choice for our specific shipping needs. Her customer service skills were superb! Super pleasant, knowledgeable and she left an impression that makes me certain I will be using this UPS store for all of my shipping needs while baby girl is in college. Made an appointment to get something notarized. Showed up and they indicated I needed an appointment. I said I did at 1:00. The rude counter person said your 20 minutes early and not 1:00. Then he proceeds to say they are not in until 2:00 and don't honor the ups appointment app and they don't take appointments. Clearly they where not telling the truth. Sad to see this place actually had a few 1 star reviews, but I do recall not being impressed the first time I came here. Giving it 5 stars this time around because of the excellent service I received from the store clerk, Brittany. She was very friendly, courteous, patient and kind. I bought shipping material, went out to my car and came back in to ship. A few hours later the person I was shipping the items to called and requested more things - so I called the store to see if they could pull the package - which they did. The manager wasn't around so I was unable to receive a refund right away - had I been hard-up on money this might have been an issue. The very next day I went back, all missing items in box and was able to ship my package and Brittany made it possible for me to just pay the less than one dollar difference rather than wait for her manager to fix the invoice. read more

I should had wrote this a while ago, but better late than never.. I don't appreciate the the worker pressing in on my package to make it weigh more so that she could charge me more, so since I saw what she had done, I asked her if I could have 1 of those thin plastic bags that is normally given for free , but she told me no and said i can purchase one for $7.00, so although i was annoyed at this point, i went ahead and paid the outrageous price for the bag at her suggestion so that i could get a cheaper price for shipping, i took my items out of the box, and put them into the weightless bag, so then she weighs it again and tells me an even HIGHER price than before! plus now i have purchased this bag from her too! so i felt totally ripped off! And much worse, the manager/owner was standing right there and new what was going on and he didn't do anything, why should he, it benefited him, but I decided not to send the package, and of course they didn't refund me for the bag, but they lost a long time customer, keep the 7.00 because its your last from me read more

This is a great place to drop off packages. It's small but effective. Today an agent name Allison was a example of great customer service. She deserves a A+. She took that extra step to help me with a label that I had problems with returning an item to Macy's. She took control and got the job done. I'm not computer savvy but she went way beyond and helped me with the return. THANK YOU ALLISON. GREAT JOB. We need more Allison's helping those in need. A+ read more

Another one bites the dust! This place has gone the way of lousy customer service. Recently I was told that they no longer give a receipt when dropping off packages, and that a photo of the shipping label is the same thing. Unfortunately it isn't - a photo of the receipt is exactly that, and not proof that the package actually changed hands. Luckily there are *lots* of other UPS stores to choose from. I went to this ups store to print 3 pages of documents since my printer didn't work at home and it was the closest I could find. The woman at the front desk helped me and told me to send my documents to their email. After they printed, they told me the price per copy is 1.00. I was shocked by the price since other places cost only 0.10 per copy but I still paid since I didn't want to be rude for not paying for something they already printed. I left the store spending 3 bucks on 3 pieces of paper. I will never step into this store again to print my documents. read more

The sign says it open at 9am on Saturdays. It is now 9:30, door is still locked, a line is forming and people are frustrated. Unfortunate.

DO NOT use this store anymore for copies. I was charged $25 for copies that in the past were $8 to $10. I asked that they have the manager call me. No call back. I stopped in the store again, they texted the manager and asked her to call me- still no call back. I am done with this store. And corporate says they are a franchise- nothing they can do. They USED TO BE convenient. They used to be reasonable. I'm sorry but .22 cents per copy and .44 cents for a double sided copy is RIDICULOUS! I would suggest you not get ripped off and go somewhere else!! read more

I tried to go to this UPS store, this morning, at about 10:15. The hours posted next to the door state that the store opens at 9:00 AM, but it was closed when I got there. Their notary is present less than half of the time they are open. It would be appropriate for them to advertise on their website, yelp, etc something like "notary only available very limited hours - call first." So, yeah, call first and save yourself a wasted car trip. read more

Might as well be filed under "doesn't accept credit cards". I went here today to return books to bookrenter. Bookrenter provides the label, so this is supposed to be free. They said they had to charge me 1.10 to print the label since I didn't print it off at home. Ok, fine. When they rang me up I noticed a 10 dollar minimum to use a credit card. I don't carry cash, so I asked if there was a 50 cent fee or something so I could just use my debit card and get out of there. They said no and told me I should go to nob hill and buy something and get cash back, otherwise the store would get dinged... Are you kidding me? I understand all about credit card minimums, but 10 bucks? That's unreasonable, especially for a mega corporation. If a rinky-dink minimart can set a 5 dollar minimum, I'm pretty sure a huge company can too. And not having an option to use debit is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Then sending me off to another store to buy more crap just to get cash because I don't want to buy 10 dollars worth of envelopes and staples all so they don't get dinged? Horrible. I usually just drop off my returns for Amazon here. Although the Harbor Bay location is closer to my home, I always go here because, although it's busy, the people are so helpful and kind and things move quickly. Today I had to mail a package and was too late for the post office, so I went to UPS. They were absolutely WONDERFUL! The price is fairly expensive, but you can always count on UPS to track the shipment to make sure it arrives. Michelle & Gagan waited on me today--they were beyond amazing, so kind, so courteous, so helpful; and they got my package in the mail with a receipt quickly. Michelle did most of the work on the computer input for me, and I am confident that my envelope will arrive in good condition and in a timely manner. This place totally rocks because the people they hire "walk on water!" They know what they're doing, and they are courteous and friendly as well as perfectly professional ALWAYS, without fail! read more

Good service, great employee. My first time in that store. I used to go to UPS on Island Drive, but I got turned off by one of their employees, an older Indian guy. He angrily told me "I don't give a damn", when I was explaining to him how I was instructed by Amazon to mail back a package. He is not polite, he's arrogant, no manners. I'm not truly a fan of any Indian businesses, e.g. Subway sandwiches store, dinghy motels or their restaurants. Some, I say SOME are arrogant and filthy. I would not even give this service a stamp. It was terrible. I paid to have a Christmas card with a check in the card overnight mail. The card never arrived..they could not locate a tracking number and when I went back to the store asking for the manager,the women said she was at a meeting. I gave the clerk my name/phone/ and ask for a call back to discuss this poor unreliable service. I still have not received a phone call from the manager and my daughter will not be receiving her gift for Christmas on time. -To much volume for such a small store -Staff that is ill trained to follow protocol -No follow up customer service. My son needed his computer CPU for college so we brought it in on August 22nd and the shipping came to almost $200 to ship to Salem Oregon. A week went by, he called the store manager she did not call back, he called twice more and was told that there was a two week delay in shipping-it did not arrive until September 10th and did not ship until September 5th! There is NO excuse for this level of NON service-pathetic, two weeks to even pack and ship and then another 5 days to get it delivered! I needed to get something notarized in a hurry for a very ill relative and I cannot say enough about the service I got from this store. Ava is the most wonderful person. She came over to my Aunt's place, which just happens to be down the street, to help us take care of paperwork and get things notarized. She knew about what we were trying to accomplish and was able to tell us what we were doing and why and the best way to get everything squared away. She was calm when I was upset and made me feel better. And she called again later just to ask how my Aunt was! I wish we could clone Ava so she worked every place we shopped. I went into this UPS Store today to get simple copies made that I sent them through an e-mail on PDF. And was told they charge $1 per file in addition to the cost of printing. Apparently, they do not make enough money in the store so they want to stick it to their neighborhood customers. I said this is very expensive, and the smug attendant became indignant and defensive and said that "Its what everyone does", which is an outright lie because to date at Office Depot, Office Max and Staples have no such ridiculous gotcha charge for sending files to be printed, they only charge for the printing. Don't do business with neighborhood gouge businesses like this. Take your business to places that give you a good value for your money. And a pleasant attitude as well. If someone gets an attitude, it means they have something to be ashamed of or they know the practice is wrong. read more

Good small UPS shipping post. They also have copy machines as well as a capability to send Fax, but fax is very expensive if you are sending multiple pages. Sometimes their staffs are not that knowledgeable, and a lot of times they are overwhelmed with several customers and not enough people behind the counter, but hey, that's the reality of small biz sometimes. read more
