Always nice to come in here. I don't come in often, but when I do, the staff (David, I think?) are always pleasant and drop everything to help me, even when they're super busy (like on Christmas Eve). I can't imagine how difficult it is work in a place like this - packing, demanding customers, complaints - yet this place is always efficient and seeking to help me out. And most times I've come in, they given me something - free upgrade, free boxes, free shipping - even when they're not supposed to. They've even held packages for me because I could not be home, negotiating with driver's and UPS on my behalf. UPS is still too expensive for me overall, but when I have to, this place makes it tolerable and I appreciate that! I'm writing a review for a UPS store? Why yes, yes I am. Usually shipping something can be a total drag. You know how you always find yourself needing to ship something and you're like UGH I DONT WANNA GO, I DON'T WANNA!! And you say that because the service is always terrible, prices to ship are always too high and the lines are too long... Well, aside from the prices being too high here (which that's just me being cheap!), the UPS store has zero wait time and really good customer service. It's really weird to walk into a UPS store and be greeted by everyone there, but not only that, these people were like HAPPY ON THE JOB with HAPPY greetings. We did pre-print the return shipping labels and packaged 2 of the 3 items. Then purchased a box for the third item. We were in and out of the store in less than 5 minutes! read more

I already don't often leave reviews for anything, but when someone shows such warmth and tremendous service, I really like to support them and let them know they're appreciated. Everyone at this store is SO nice and helpful. I use a PO box here, and every time I come in, the know my name and my box number and are always quick to greet me in the most friendly way possible. Brought in a small item to ship from Calabasas to Sacramento, total weight was around 5lbs for the item without any material added. I was not aware that they will charge you for a used box and for the "act" of wrapping tape on it. He asked me if I wanted to have them pack it and I told them to see if they have anything that fits reasonably close - because UPS charges based off the size of the box as well. After filling out the address and receipt information, the guy finally comes back with stuff. He had already taken the liberty to find, select, pack, and seal up the box. The box he chose, a USED box, was enormous. My item was about 18"L by 4" x 4". The box was about 30"L x 12" x 12". It also ended up weighing over 15lbs!! He had wrapped it with what seemed like dozens of layers of shipping tape. I was going to have him take it out but I had to get the item out that day and I did not have time to have him get my item back out given how much material he had surrounded it with. By the way, the item was metal and not delicate. The price: $56 to go 400 miles from Calabasas to Sacramento. $31 in shipping and $25 for their "services." The online calculator said $12. When I told the guy that he laughed, literally laughed while saying "no, no, no." But he offered no explanation of why UPS's online calculator would be wrong. He did not tell me that he was charging me for some used box, it was not a packing box, but some random box that their own merchandise had come in because it was clearly used and very oddly sized. I think it was for those reams of big paper they used to print out blueprint size stuff... Anyway! I realized they were charging me this only when he handed me the receipt after paying. Then I asked for the towel that I had my item wrapped in when I brought it in - to prevent the metal from getting scratched on the counter. He said he packed it in there too! So I paid for a) their used box, b) shipping my own towel and losing it, c) a bunch of empty space, d) a bunch of unnecessary packing material (god knows what he put in there), e) the weight of all said things, and f) his "service" of putting on the tape. The only thing I asked for was a box, and I explicitly told them I wanted to see the size first. He went ahead and did everything else out of my sight and without my permission. I guess I should not have told him that I had a meeting I was going to huh?? Lesson learned, now I don't ever patronize a UPS Store unless it is to drop something off that is pre-labeled. read more

2nd time trying to ship something here. 1st time they wanted 200.00 to ship a duffle bag to east coast, went to fed ex and it was 60.00. then yesterday...... needed to ship a subwoofer back to mfgr. this item cost me 23.66 to have shipped to me. these people wanted 49.00 to ship back !!!! again.. went to fed ex and it was 37.00. they must have a 40% add on to actual shipping charges. read more

First time in this UPS. They seemed friendly enough. I was trying to send out 3 of the exact computer parts to different addresses which weighed a little under 3 lbs each. The guy behind the counter must of thought he could rip me off. Like I didn't know how much these parts weighed. He said each one was over 5lbs and he would have to charge me $70 per package. I asked him again if he was sure they weighed over 5 lbs. he still said yes. I walked out pissed off and went over to the USPS a block north and sent them for $13 each. While I appreciate the quick service, I was charged $27 to ship something for $10, so clearly I was ripped off. When my friend received the package she asked why it cost me so much when it says $10 on the envelope! (I had to ask her to send me more money to cover the shipping) I said I wanted it shipped the most reasonable way possible... I doubt it was $17 for the post office padded envelope. Each time I've been in this particular location the staff have been very friendly and each process is real quick. They're nothing compared to USPS. You can come in and they'll package your boxes with a huge smile on their face. The post office will make you buy a roll of tape and won't even acknowledge you. I walk out happy every time. Top notch service, David and staff packaged a large painting for me (40" x 52") shipped it to Boston, and kept me in the loop during the whole process. The item was difficult to package due to its size, but they did a great job and it arrived in perfect condition. Shipping/packaging/insurance rate was quite reasonable. I should note this was all done remotely, I called these guys from Boston and arranged for someone to drop the large artwork off at their store. They took care of everything from there, assessed it for any defects, sent me photos, called me to have me approve of small nick's/blemishes prior to shipping, packaged it, and got it to me within a few days. The guys there are nice, but appaprently UPS Stores in this high price neighborhood are rip-offs! They tried to charge me $76 to ship a box which UPS.com quoted me $32 for. That is DOUBLE!!! This has happened many times before & I just walk out, thinking the counter guys were just mistaken. Apparently any UPS store marks up their pricing, so do not use UPS stores unless you want to get the shaft! read more

Went here for their notary services.... First time notary not in, said come back Thursday at 10am... Get there at 10:30am and notary not in until 12pm. I don't have time to coordinate multiple trips to the UPS store. They tell me I should call first, but THEY told me to come back at 10am Thursday. Also, nowhere on their site or in store does it say specific limited timing for notary. A little red sign on door says service available or not... With all the notaries available in the area, even mobile, I will not be returning to this store read more
