It is difficult to review a business when some experiences have been exceptionally bad while others have been positive. The poor reviews are not fake as was suggested by one reviewer. I completely agree with the low ratings at this UPS store. I have had multiple negative experiences with the 'short girl with long dark hair' (as one reviewer described her). She is condescending, rude, snotty, highly unprofessional, and not the least bit helpful. Her eye rolls and perturbed looks don't go unnoticed. And when did it become acceptable to eat at the service counter? However, there is ONE employee who is pleasant; I'm wondering if his name is "Phil" (dark haired fellow) since there was mention of how helpful he was to another customer. If so, Phil is the ONLY employee that provides good customer service and the only reason I keep coming back. He deserves five stars. When the customer service is consistently good at this store, I'll add more stars for the overall rating. I do hope the owners and/or corporate are interested in fixing what is broken. read more

She said we have bags, but you must buy them. And when I tell her that I won't since the label says they should provide that, her answer was. It printed a label I don't know what you want me to do? Most of us do not look at reviews before we go to a store that ships packages, but we should. This store has only 2 stars and over 100 reviews. This store has a total lack of customer service. With all the package thefts going on, you would think they would be more thorough with the shipping services they provide. They have NO records. I brought in 4 packages to them, as they are a shipping company and feel that they can secure my packages. But NO, they can not. Out of the 4 packages only 3 have any tracking information and they stated they have no records to determine who they gave the other package too. They have no system to evaluate when it was picked up and by who. I thought this was a legit shipping company, but unfortunately it is not. So one of my packages is missing and they do not care. The man told me it was "not his problem". I will no longer support this business. Go to AIMS on Union Ave in Los Gatos, much better service. read more

The reviews are true on this store. Another customer had an extra box from her package and kindly was giving it to me to ship my items in. She left it on the counter and walked out. As I was reaching for the box, the employee took it and put it behind the counter. When I asked for the box she gave to me, he refused and said they use them in the store and that I would have to purchase one. ARE YOU KIDDING?!?? Terrible experience. read more

I do not understand the negative reviews of this location. I come here at least once a month and the staff is always helpful, kind, and customer oriented. I came in yesterday with four items to send all using four different shippers (UPS, USPS, AT&T direct and another). The woman behind the counter took time to make sure each one was processed correctly, gave me the receipt for each one, and walked me through how one shipper doesn't offer tracking but wrote down the shipping number so I have it for reference in case it gets lost. And then when I didn't have enough tape on one box, she gladly taped it up and make sure it was secure. All around a great store, great staff. I will be here again soon. read more

The owner says "we can sell You a box but you would have to pack it outside of the store. There is no packing here" wtf?! The signs outside say "certified packing experts" "pack and ship guarantee". If I could give less than one star I would, and judging from many of the other reviews, I am not the only one. I brought in items to send to a friend who is caring for someone in the hospital. I had my own packing tape. I wished to purchase a box and then pack my items in the store and then pay for UPS shipping. I was told by the clerk that either they could pack my box for 12.95 or I would have to pay 4.95 to pack my own box in their store, even though I had brought my own tape. So I went out to my car to put the box together, despite the fact that it is 90 degrees outside. This is the worst way to nickel and dime customers. I will be using the UPS store on The Alameda or the one downtown from now on. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ! The owner tries to find any way to scam you for more money. He charges $6 to print a label. He also refused to take my returns (open box items through amazon). He said there is a 18" maximum requirement for returns. Even though amazon doesn't have a maximum requirement. I was returning a 24" item.Aka he doesn't want to open another box . Every time I've been here I've walked out with my items and had to go elsewhere to return them. Don't waste your time unless your dropping off a prepaid label, ready to go. He will try to dig any living penny out of you if he can. read more

I'm not really sure why this place gets a bad wrap, I am here regularly returning stuff and both guys are extremely nice. I've been there with the tape too, but take a step back..if you were a shipping company and every customer needed tape (let's be real you'd take advantage of it if it were) that would cut into the business cost. In a world where prices are already high and small business are disappearing remember that. Yes it's a big brand name, but it's a franchise small business owner. The line is always out the door! Brutal. I had a few boxes that thankfully had return labels from Amazon that I just needed to drop off because if I had to wait in that line, I would have walked out. Why the 2 says if I just had a stop off? Well... out of the 8 boxes I dropped off, only 7 were scanned! One of my returns is completely gone. Amazon said the label was not scanned. The combination of UPS stores with Amazon is an great setup. Amaz returns have become spectacularly easy. Bring it in, drop it on the counter, scan your QR code and you're out in 60 seconds. But the best part of it is the smiles and helpfulness the professionals behind the counter supply throughout the day. I drop off returns at the McKee and Toyon UPS store in San Jose. I've never seen anything but the nicest group helping me no matter when. Today I went in before lunch and met a woman named Thao -- her smile was wide and genuine and so were those of her associates. This is my go-to UPS store. I drive out of my way to come here because of how nice everyone is. Most of the time I am in and out in less that 3 minutes. There are times when there is a line but that's not their fault. Once it's my turn I have always received curious service and they even helped my husband pack a small return when he forgot the box. Can I leave zero stars?! I was in there earlier today as my package was rerouted there instead of my home by mistake. THEY CHARGED ME 7$ to hold my stuff in UPS jail for literally less than 2 hours!!!!! I've had many things delivered there and never have had to pay, even picked something up last week. The "boss" was busy with someone else, but came over when I got irritated. Why should I have to pay for my stuff that was wrongfully delivered? He said I can dispute the charge with ups. I said, "so, you're going to steal my money right now so I can get my stuff?!" The "boss" said "yes, yes I am". What the actual F!!! Then customer service was NOT helpful sending me all over. It's NOWHERE posted that they will charge, and my stuff shouldn't have been delivered there anyway. I'm out 7$ and sanity points because of this place. I shipped two antique glass vases that had belonged to our grandmother to my cousin in Texas. I asked that the vases be carefully wrapped and handled as these were of tremendous sentimental value to my cousin and me. I paid for shipping and insured the vases for $200. My cousin received them this morning. One was intact, the other shattered into several pieces. I went back to the UPS Store 1762 from where I sent them just now. Andrea couldn't have been more helpful and kind. She very patiently helped me try to submit an online claim, but UPS would only allow an UPS employee to submit it. She printed up all of my paperwork, asked that I send photos of the broken vase and provided an email in which to send them, which I just did. She didn't try to make excuses but instead was totally supportive. I can only say thank you Andrea for being such an exemplary and kind person. Always been friendly and quick, never had any issue with my packages here before (typically just use this place for quick drop offs). But today was an especially positive experience, so I felt I should leave a review. It turned out that my printer fudged up the label, so it wasn't scannable. Instead of just sending me on my way (back home or to the office) to fix it, the guy assisting offered to reprint the label there for me without my even asking. He was patient with my figuring out how to recreate the label on my phone, then he quickly reprinted a working label for me, and re-taped up my package all securely before scanning it in, and giving me the receipt. Above and beyond service, for sure (I even got his name, so I could do a personalized shout out thank you, but my dumb@ss already forgot - something with a "P" I think)! If I could leave a zero I would. I watched a male employee of this business yell at a young woman at the the store trying to drop something off. I try to mind my own business but was blown away at how rude the employee was. I guess scanning a box label is super stressful and customer service doesn't exist anymore. I left the store and will start using one further away. After looking this place up I now realize how bad the reviews are for this place. It's around the curve so was easy to use. Maybe they can provide training to their employees on how to intact with the public. Guy was a total (insert expletives here). Can't pick when you want to be nice or with certain people. read more

If you can use the postal service or another UPS location I recommend doing so. The post office will give you some tape if you need to seal a package. This is a packaging and shipping store but for some reason won't help you seal a package. They do have a huge selection of tape that's way overpriced. I wish I'd gone to another location but I bought the tape, that I didn't need, and sealed the bag with one strip of tape. read more
